Hi there, My name is Dan and I have taught over 1000 sessions for Gostudent with great parental feedback. I am able to give students tasks that get them thinking and responding as if there were in class or an exam without getting them to realise that they are doing this. This means they are more engaged and students, who maybe are struggling, see that they can succeed. I am also able to engage with parents and students at the same, making it clear to Parents what has been achieved. I primarily work with GCSE and A-Level Students, but do also have experience with KS3. I have been studying my PhD at the University of Liverpool, and prior to that I did my MA and BA at University of Newcastle. I studied A-Levels at Richard Huish College in Somerset. I just graduated from a degree in English Literature, French and Dutch at the University of Sheffield with First Class Honours, and am currently training to be a speech and language therapist. My dissertation focused on nineteenth-century Italian political thought, and I successfully defended it with no corrections recommended. I have been a tutor since 2020 and a university supervisor and seminar instructor (for History and Politics) since 2023. I also have direct experience in university admissions, having conducted Politics interviews and managed selection processes at the University of Cambridge. As a tutor, I find it very rewarding to use my expertise and enthusiasm to help students do well in their courses, become excited about what they are learning, and grow in confidence.
