I have a BSc degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, and I worked in many engineering companies for many years prior to becoming a tutor. I am teaching KS2 and KS3 (GCSE) Maths and Science to any primary/secondary school students who may have difficulties in particular topics or in their exam preparations. I also prepare students for: SATS, 11 plus or any other grammar school exam. I am available preferably for online lessons, however if you want in-person then we can discuss arrangements depending on your location. I live in Uxbridge, West London. My tutoring approach is structuring my lessons in a way that allows for a student to succeed regardless of their current academic performance. So our first lesson is to understand your current level in your studies, and then we can prepare a lesson plan going forward to specific topics. In my lessons, I always use many different teaching methods such as presentations, videos, worksheets, and also educational games. I will also assign regular homework for you to do after our lessons. Please feel free to get in touch with me to either discuss about your educational needs. You can also book a trial lesson with me to get to know each other and how I can help with your academic goals. I am originally a Petroleum and Natural Gas engineer. I worked as an engineer in different companies. Apart from working as an engineer, I was also tutoring maths, science and english to students in primary and secondary schools. I have been tutoring for over 18 years and my core subjects that I teach are mainly Maths and Science because of engineering background. After I worked in engineering sector for more than 6 years, I decided to change my career into teaching as I really enjoyed and spending time with young people. Hi! I’m Saarah, a Psychology student at the University of Leicester with a strong passion for understanding how the mind and body work together. What makes me stand out is my unique combination of interests in psychology, maths, and biology. While psychology helps me explore behaviour and mental processes, biology deepens my understanding of the brain, nervous system, and the science behind how we function. Maths, on the other hand, sharpens my analytical skills and helps me approach problems logically. I love how these subjects connect—biology gives me a solid scientific foundation, psychology brings in the human experience, and maths provides the tools to analyse and interpret data. This blend allows me to explain complex ideas in a clear, engaging way. I’m patient, friendly, and always aim to adapt to your learning style. Whether you're struggling to grasp a biology topic or aim to improve your maths skills, I’m here to support you. My goal is to build your confidence and help you enjoy learning, not just get through it. With the right support, I believe every student can thrive—and I’m excited to be part of that journey with you. I completed my GCSEs at Rushey Mead Secondary and A-levels at Beauchamp City Sixth Form with a strong academic record, focusing on subjects such as Psychology, Biology, and Maths—areas that reflect my interest in both the sciences and analytical thinking. These subjects helped me build a solid foundation for my current studies. I’m now pursuing a Psychology degree at the University of Leicester, where I’m deepening my understanding of human behaviour, cognitive processes, and mental health. My degree also includes research and statistical analysis, which ties in well with my appreciation for maths. Looking ahead, I plan to pursue a PhD in Psychology to further specialise and contribute to the field through research and practice. My academic journey has not only strengthened my subject knowledge but also taught me discipline, effective study strategies, and the importance of curiosity in learning. I’m passionate about helping students develop the same confidence in their subjects that I’ve worked hard to build myself.

Hi! I’m Khadija, a tutor who believes every student just needs the right nudge to unlock their potential. Whether it’s Maths, Science, or Computer Science, I break things down simply, ask the right questions, and keep sessions light but focused. I’m not just here to teach. I’m here to help your child feel confident, capable, and even enjoy the subjects they once found tough! Hey there! I’ve had quite the international education journey. I did my schooling at the International Indian School, KSA, then pursued my Bachelor’s in Computer Science Engineering back in India. Later, I packed my bags and moved to Italy for my Master’s in Economics and Data Analysis (specialising in Data Science), talk about a change in scenery AND numbers! Work-wise, I’ve been a Data Analyst in France, a Data Scientist in London at Depop (part of Etsy), and a Teaching Assistant in Bracknell, where I supported students from Year 3 to GCSEs in Maths, Science, and Computer Science. As Dory says “Just keep swimming!” and that’s basically my teaching style; keep moving, keep learning, and have a laugh along the way.

My name is Laura. I am a final year medical student at Trinity College Dublin. I am living in Dublin, Ireland. I've been providing tutoring in Maths for the last 5 years. I achieved grade A+ in my leaving Certificate Maths examination. I have taught students of all levels, from primary school to Leaving Certificate/A Level standard. My approach to lessons is tailored to each individual student. First I identify the areas in which the student may be struggling with or in which the student would benefit from tutoring in. My tutoring sessions are student centered and I move at a pace that suits each student. I encourage the student to attempt sample questions during the session in order for me to assess their understanding. I adapt my teaching plan to the goals of the student and suggest questions for the student to complete in-between sessions. I have recently worked to develop a student e-learning platform (www.studentgrinds.ie). I have also created youtube videos on my account 'Laura Kehoe' (youtube user ID:HmzZLwmKOZwL3SV-aONyig ) showcasing the solutions to maths exam questions for students. I am happy to answer any questions you may have in relation to tutoring sessions. Outside of my studies, I enjoy horse-riding and running.

I have a big family of 6 and lots of animals. I have dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, goats, turkeys and geese. I play sport in my spare time and am a part of a soccer team, a gaelic football team and a camogie team. I also have a passion for art, I love to paint and draw. I'm a positive and happy person with a passion to share my knowledge. For years I taught Irish in an Irish College in Galway, you may have heard of it - Colaiste Lurgan. We have become very popular over the years by translating, creating and preforming popular english songs (but making them much better) and recording them in Irish. Take a look on YouTube - TG Lurgan - you might be able to spot me in a few videos! I was an Irish teacher by day and a kayaking instructor by evening. My house was a 'bean an ti' house which means every three weeks during the summer months, we had 14-16 new students living with us. Everyone attended the college and had fun all the while learning and practicing our native language.

Hi! I’m a friendly and dedicated tutor who loves helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals. Outside of tutoring, I’m a huge Manchester United fan — I try to catch as many games as possible and really enjoy the teamwork and strategy behind the sport. I’m also part of a competitive bhangra team, where we perform at events and competitions across the country. Being involved in bhangra has taught me valuable lessons in discipline, teamwork, and performing under pressure — qualities I bring to my tutoring sessions. When I’m not dancing or watching football, I’m a big Formula 1 fan. I love the blend of precision, strategy, and constant improvement involved in the sport. To stay active and clear my mind, I enjoy swimming, which helps me stay focused and refreshed. Recently, I’ve started learning to play the guitar, picking up my favourite songs one at a time. It’s been a rewarding challenge that reminds me how patience and practice are key to mastering new skills — just like in learning. My goal is to create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing their abilities. I bring energy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. I attended secondary school at Queen Elizabeth's School, Barnet. It is a selective grammar school and consistently ranks in the top 5 grammar schools in the country. I am now studying at Kings College London University as a 2nd year medical student.

What is the IGCSE?
The IGCSE (which stands for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education) is taken by students aged 14-16 (Year 10 and 11) to prepare them for further pre-university level study, such as A-levels.
It offers the same level of education as a traditional GCSE but does not have a UK-centric curriculum. For example, Shakespeare is a compulsory part of GCSE English Literature but not the IGCSE.
Children in state schools usually take GCSEs whilst those in private and international schools are more likely to take IGCSEs. Universities do not distinguish between the two when it comes to entry requirements. The exams are assessed externally.
What is the focus of the IGCSE?
The IGCSE focuses on developing understanding, skill, and knowledge in the following areas:
Subject content
The application of knowledge and understanding to new as well as familiar situations
Intellectual enquiry
Flexibility and responsiveness to change
Working and communicating in English
Influencing outcomes
Cultural awareness
What subjects are studied?
IGCSEs are available in a broad range of subjects but curriculums vary considerably depending on the school.
Students typically take seven to nine subjects, which must include the core subjects of English, mathematics and science (biology, chemistry, physics).
Optional subjects include humanities (history, geography), modern languages, the creative arts (art, music), STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and sports.
Preparing for the IGCSEs
Historically, the GCSE had a greater amount of coursework in the syllabus compared to the IGCSE. This has changed in recent years and both qualifications are based mainly on the end-of-course exams.
The exams test theoretical knowledge, practical skills, problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills – which are essential for further education as well as future careers.
Revision is key to retaining information and reinforcing understanding and should be done regularly rather than cramming all the content at the last minute.
Practicing past papers and taking mock exams will allow you to become familiar with the exam structure, improve your time management skills and discover any areas of weakness.
How can a tutor help with preparing for the IGCSEs?
A tutor can help at any stage of the process, whether it is over the two years of study or in the run-up to the exams.
GoStudent IGCSE tutors have experience in the specific subjects covered in the curriculum as well as a proven track record of success. They offer personalised lessons that can target problematic areas and can help create realistic and achievable study schedules that balance your time across the different subjects.
ICGSE tutors can also teach you effective study techniques. These will help you not only with the exams but in your future academic career.
If you are struggling with either the coursework or exam preparation, don’t delay seeking help. Feeling prepared and confident for your exams allows you to have a clear and focused mind - and achieve to your full potential.

How many other levels does GoStudent offer other than iGCSE tuition?
As well as private iGCSE tuition, GoStudent can help your child with 11 other levels. Pick from many subjects including Spanish, Economics, French. And with GoStudent your child isn't tied into one level. If they are taking iGCSE tuition but then need support with a different level, we can help them get that support with a tutor specialised in that level.
How can your child benefit from iGCSE tuition?
The main reason that parents often start to look for a iGCSE tutor is to improve their child’s academic performance. It’s needless to say that tutoring will prepare your child for important exams and tests and address specific problem areas that they might have in a particular subject. Your child’s grades and understanding of the subject will improve when working with a tutor but there are also other benefits you might consider when deciding whether to opt for private iGCSE tutoring. Tutoring encourages self-directed learning. This means that your child will learn to take the initiative in their schoolwork, with the result that they will feel less overwhelmed or frustrated with school and more in control of their own learning. They will also learn study skills that will help them in life when it comes to university and beyond. Whether it’s learning to overcome obstacles in their studies, losing the fear of asking questions or even working on their social skills. Sign up for a free trial lesson to discover the benefits of tutoring for yourself.
