Hi! I'm a tutor with a passion for helping students thrive. During the day, I support children with special educational needs, and I absolutely love seeing them succeed. My background is in psychology, which I find incredibly fascinating, and I can tutor students up to degree level in it. I'm also happy to help with other subjects too! I believe learning should be engaging and supportive. Outside of tutoring, you'll find me curled up with a good book or baking something delicious. I'm excited to help you reach your academic goals! My educational journey began with secondary schooling, where I achieved 9 GCSEs, ranging from A to B. I then pursued further studies in mathematics, obtaining an AS level qualification, showcasing my aptitude for analytical thinking. This led me to college, where I undertook a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care, achieving a Triple Distinction***, the highest possible achievement. I progressed to university to study Psychology at the Bachelor's level. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the diverse disciplines within psychology, from developmental and cognitive psychology to social and clinical perspectives. I graduated with an Upper Second Class Honours degree, reflecting my strong grasp of psychological theories and research methods. While I found all areas of psychology compelling, I specialised in Business Psychology, focusing on the dynamics of human behaviour in the workplace. I pursued postgraduate studies in Occupational and Organisational Psychology. This equipped me with specialised knowledge and skills in areas such as employee selection, performance management, organisational development, and workplace well-being.

My name is Rebecca and I am from South Wales, United Kingdom. I have experienced living in different places around the UK and I lived in London for several years, which was an amazing experience to meet people from international countries and learn many things about their culture and interests too. I enjoy cooking at home, as formally I have trained on the job as a professional chef, mainly in seafood/fish restaurants and Japanese cuisine. Also, I like going for a walk down the coastline and taking in the scenic views, photography and sometimes video gaming when the time arises. For over a year, I have been teaching English online as a second language to Taiwanese and Chinese students, both juniors and adults. Which became an interest whilst I was teaching sushi classes in London. I decided to advance onto teaching specifically English and conversational topics chosen by students, to further improve their overall English language. From education I gained a TEFL level 5 teaching qualification and a BSc (Hons) in Food and Consumer Management from Birmingham University. Which focused on live industry projects within the FMCG sector, nutrition and the business elements within the food industry. I enjoy cooking at home, particularly Japanese cuisine and seafood dishes that I learnt previously as a professional chef.

Hi! I’m Saarah, a Psychology student at the University of Leicester with a strong passion for understanding how the mind and body work together. What makes me stand out is my unique combination of interests in psychology, maths, and biology. While psychology helps me explore behaviour and mental processes, biology deepens my understanding of the brain, nervous system, and the science behind how we function. Maths, on the other hand, sharpens my analytical skills and helps me approach problems logically. I love how these subjects connect—biology gives me a solid scientific foundation, psychology brings in the human experience, and maths provides the tools to analyse and interpret data. This blend allows me to explain complex ideas in a clear, engaging way. I’m patient, friendly, and always aim to adapt to your learning style. Whether you're struggling to grasp a biology topic or aim to improve your maths skills, I’m here to support you. My goal is to build your confidence and help you enjoy learning, not just get through it. With the right support, I believe every student can thrive—and I’m excited to be part of that journey with you. I completed my GCSEs at Rushey Mead Secondary and A-levels at Beauchamp City Sixth Form with a strong academic record, focusing on subjects such as Psychology, Biology, and Maths—areas that reflect my interest in both the sciences and analytical thinking. These subjects helped me build a solid foundation for my current studies. I’m now pursuing a Psychology degree at the University of Leicester, where I’m deepening my understanding of human behaviour, cognitive processes, and mental health. My degree also includes research and statistical analysis, which ties in well with my appreciation for maths. Looking ahead, I plan to pursue a PhD in Psychology to further specialise and contribute to the field through research and practice. My academic journey has not only strengthened my subject knowledge but also taught me discipline, effective study strategies, and the importance of curiosity in learning. I’m passionate about helping students develop the same confidence in their subjects that I’ve worked hard to build myself.

What is the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme?
The IB Diploma is a two-year educational programme for students aged 16 to 19. It encourages curiosity about the world and the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as providing an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education.
It aims not only to develop students’ knowledge in a range of subjects and disciplines, but helps them become confident, self-motivated and resilient global citizens.
The programme is composed of six academic subject groups along with the Diploma Programme (DP) Core. The DP Core requires students to reflect on the nature of knowledge in a course called Theory of Knowledge (ToK), participate in independent research to produce an Extended Essay (EE), and engage in extracurricular activities related to Creativity, Action and Service (CAS).
What subjects are covered in the IB Diploma Programme?
Subjects are offered at a Standard and Higher Level. Students must pass at least three subjects at Higher Level and a total of six from the following list:
Each subject is scored from 1-7, and up to 3 additional points may be awarded for the ToK essay and the EE. A minimum of 24 points is required to pass, with 45 points the maximum that can be achieved. The CAS does not count towards the final score but must be completed to earn the diploma.
In general, a score of 30 points or higher is considered enough to gain admission to many universities, with more selective universities requiring a score of 40 or higher.
How to get good results in the IB Diploma Programme
The IB Diploma is a rigorous academic programme which many students find challenging, which can lead to overwhelm, a loss of motivation and procrastination.
It’s vital to start early when it comes to preparing for the exams. Revising should ideally be done in short amounts daily and balanced across multiple subjects. Completing past papers will familiarise you with the types of questions asked and improve your exam technique.
Using an IB tutor is a sure path to success as they can teach effective learning strategies, help you gain a deeper understanding of the subject matter, and work with you to develop a realistic and achievable study schedule that will keep you on track throughout the year.
GoStudent has a range of IB tutors that have direct experience in teaching the curriculum and understand the assessment methods. They have a special focus on the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) essay and the Extended Essay, teaching the necessary skills and strategies to succeed in both as well as help across different subjects within the level.
