I am a final-year Biomedical Science student at the University of Wolverhampton with several years of tutoring experience working with KS2, KS3 and GCSE students in both Maths and English. I have supported students with a range of learning needs including ADHD, dyslexia and low confidence in core subjects. My teaching style is patient, encouraging and tailored to each student’s pace, focusing on building understanding step-by-step rather than memorisation alone. I regularly use exam-style questions, retrieval practice and interactive explanations to help students improve both confidence and grades. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy music, singing and content creation, which helps me bring creativity and strong communication skills into my lessons. I am currently a final-year Biomedical Science student at the University of Wolverhampton studying an IBMS-accredited degree. My studies have strengthened my skills in mathematics, biology, scientific writing, problem-solving and communication. Through university coursework, presentations and research projects, I have developed the ability to explain difficult topics in a clear and structured way. I achieved strong GCSE results, including an A in English and a B in Mathematics, and went on to complete A Levels before progressing to university. I’m an ESL teacher with eight years of experience, and I genuinely enjoy helping students become more confident in using English. Over the years, I’ve worked with different types of learners, so I’ve learned how to adjust my teaching style depending on what my students need. Outside the classroom, I volunteer in my community, especially working with youth. This is something very important to me because I believe education can really change lives. It also helped me become more patient, understanding, and connected to the real challenges students face. I’m very interested in learning more about education and social issues. I like reading books and doing my own research because I want to improve not just as a teacher, but also as a person. I try to bring these insights into my lessons so they feel more meaningful and relatable. I also love traveling because it helps me experience different cultures and perspectives, which I think is important when teaching language. As a person, I’m goal-oriented and organized, but I also try to stay flexible depending on the situation. I always reflect on my teaching and look for ways to improve. My main goal is to support my students, help them grow, and make learning English something they feel confident and comfortable with. As a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English, I am passionate about helping students discover the power of language and develop their confidence in expressing themselves. Teaching, for me, is not just about lessons—it’s about inspiring curiosity, encouraging critical thinking, and connecting learning to students’ everyday lives. I love making English engaging by sharing stories, reading books, and exploring creative ways for students to practice communication. Beyond the classroom, I enjoy volunteering in my community to support youth, which has taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of understanding each learner’s needs. I also love traveling, which broadens my perspective and allows me to bring new ideas and cultural insights into my teaching. I am committed to continuous growth as an educator, exploring new strategies and researching ways to make learning meaningful and relevant. My goal is to help students not only succeed academically but also develop confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love for learning. Teaching English allows me to combine my passion for language, literature, and mentoring into a career that truly fulfills me.

What is Key Stage 4?
Key Stage 4 (KS4) comprises Year 10 and Year 11, when students are aged between 14 and 16. During this time they are working towards their GCSEs (General Certificate of Secondary Education), which are a gateway to further education and career paths.
What subjects are covered in Key Stage 4?
The national curriculum offers the following subjects:
Compulsory subjects that must be taken by all students are:
Schools must also offer at least one subject from each of these areas:
Academic students may be encouraged to take the English Baccalaureate, or EBacc. This is not a separate qualification, but a combination of six different GCSEs: English, maths, two sciences, a language and either history or geography.
Schools must also provide relationships, sex and health education and Religious Education (RE). Parents can ask for their children to be taken out of sex education lessons and all or some of RE lessons.
What is the focus of KS4?
The focus at KS4 is around preparing pupils for their transition to post-16 provision at the end of Year 11, for example A-levels, BTECs or the International Baccalaureate (IB).
Most students work towards national qualifications, usually their GCSEs. This is when they will start to study subjects that align with their strengths, interests and future goals, and at a greater depth than they have been able to before.
How to choose a KS4 tutor
Many students struggle with the one-size-fits-all approach often found in classroom settings. This can lead them to develop a negative mindset towards learning and a loss in confidence in their abilities. They can fall behind in their schoolwork and lose the motivation to put in the required effort to succeed.
KS4 tutors can provide targeted support in specific subjects where students may be struggling or need extra help to excel. This can be especially helpful if the student has special educational needs such as ADHD or dyslexia.
While most final exams take place at the end of Year 11, coursework and assessments are completed throughout the stage, so it’s important students always perform to their full potential.
GoStudent tutors have expertise in specific subject areas on the curriculum and offer a personalised approach tailored to individual needs, strengths, and weaknesses. They can close knowledge gaps, keep learning on track and help with exam preparation.
In addition, they can teach effective study techniques and time management strategies which can significantly improve performance, not only in KS4 but for the rest of the student’s academic career.

And with GoStudent your child isn't tied into one level. If they are taking KS4 tuition but then need support with a different level, we can help them get that support with a tutor specialised in that level.
