I am a natural sciences student studying at the university of Durham. I got straight A*s and As at A level and straight 8s and 9s at GCSE (except for a 7 in history - gah, I still can't believe that happened!) I have over a dozen students and I've been tutoring for half a year. I have worked as an astronomer at UMK, a science writer at UOS, and of course a tutor here on GoStudent. I teach maths and science up to A level and I'm pretty good at it. :) I achieved seven 9s and three 8s at GCSE and 5 A*s and As at A level and I have worked as an astronomer at UMK, a writer for Southampton University, a Librarian for Portswood Library, and of course a private tutor for almost half a year now. I am particularly good at maths, which I skipped 3 years in to begin my A level studies in year 9.

Lower Level: Maths GCSE: Maths A-Level: (Maths, Currently brushing up on the syllabuses) Exam Board Experience: AQA, Edexel, 11+, Common entrance Languages: English Preferred Student age group: Any I am an Electronic Engineering Graduate from the University Of York, I used to struggle with maths but turned myself around to get 91% in my University Mathematics exam and enjoyed helping others to do the same (hence why I'm now on this site!). Maths can sometimes seem really complicated, but it all makes sense I promise! Understanding it just requires the right approach for yourself and self confidence. My hobbies include making music, extreme sports and coding for visual arts. Im also learning German at the moment. I hold a masters in Sound Design and Audiovisual Practice from the University of Glasgow. This allowed me to combine my interests and creatively employ skills in Maths and Electronics in various projects. This experience really showed me that even though some skills may seem so far removed from one another, being unrestricted in learning, leads to exciting possibilities that may only reveal themselves in time.

Hi! I’m Kai, a fairly easy-going guy from London and I have been tutoring for just over 5 years and love every minute of it! I am here to help you ace your exams and provide that 'lightbulb' moment! Whichever way you learn best I will tailor my lessons to you. I tend to use many different resources depending on what suits your learning style, for example I usually incorporate diagrams and flowcharts to visualise some of the tricker concepts. I know when I was a student, having a tutor was a huge benefit to me as I was able to understand concepts from a different point of view. Away from tutoring, I am also a huge fan of football (Real Madrid of course!) and Athletics, mostly 100m and 200m sprinting and I previously represented both my County and Athletics Club several times at regional level. Wherever possible, I love to include real-life examples especially in Science so the lessons can be engaging and you can achieve your potential. Hope to see you soon! I have taught at The Grange School – an Independent school situated in Hartford, Cheshire. I was at the school for 23 years of which 16 were Head of Department and have just recently taken early retirement. I have taught 11-18 years old and at A level have experience of all examination boards. I have been leader for the NEA aspect of the course for the last 5 years and have mentored students in topics such as The Angevin Empire, Tudor Rebellions, 17th Century Witch-craze and The American Revolution through to Civil War. I have taught A Level and GCSE every year at school and our results have been excellent. We have had nothing less than a B grade since 2018 and this year gained 5 A* 9A and 4 B grades. Our results at GCSE were 100% Grade 7-9 from 42 students half of which were Grade 9. In relation to tutoring I have extensive experience of online teaching and have mentored students at GCSE and A Level. Our school did online teaching during the whole pandemic and I am proficient in using Zoom, Teams and AdobeConnect. I also mentored students who were looking to study History at University including Oxford and Cambridge of which we have had many successes. I have been a team leader, examiner and moderator of coursework at both GCSE and A level for over 10 years working for AQA, OCR and EdExcel. I have also taught Government and Politics and I am able to offer that as well to a very high level. Availability: Flexible weekdays and weekends during term time and holidays. Testimonials: From a parent of an A Level Parent who gained an A * at A Level. I’m delighted you chose today to ‘connect’. I wanted to write to let you know how pleased we are that Jess was so lucky to be taught and inspired by you. Today is a cherry on top moment but we have always appreciated your teaching. We think her very lucky to have had someone like you, who sought to educate rather than just prepare young people to pass exams. The passion for learning that you shared will stay with Jess forever. Hi Mr Robson, I hope you are enjoying a well earned summer holidays and relishing the new ownership for Newcastle. Great news that Molly got her grades (and a A* in History) to go to LSE (and perhaps just as importantly a year out!). As you can imagine, relief, absolute delight and pure emotion has outpoured! Both Lorna and I have so much to be thankful for in the support, relationship and encouragement you have played in her Grange life. We cant express enough our gratitude for the role you have played not just in history teaching but as someone who has been there for her at all times - simply above and beyond. I know Molly has valued your friendship and guidance and I have no doubt she will keep in contact with you. Best wishes to you and once again thank you. I have been a teacher for the past 23 years after working 16 years in the NHS. In my 30s i decided to go back to school and take my GCSEs which i had neglected first time round. I gained a place at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne after gaining 4 A Levels in the course of a year. Is gained a first class degree in History and followed this up by gaining a PGCE and began teaching in 2000. I have expertise at all levels and have worked with children with Special Educational Needs such as dyslexia, I am an avid Newcastle United fan which has not been easy in the past but is definitely getting better. I am passionate about History and have been lucky enough to indulge that passion. I am a keen reader and love cinema and TV. I have been married for 41 years and have two grown up children and two grandchildren.

I'm literally so overjoyed to have had the amazing opportunity to join GoStudent as a tutor back in April 2023 and I just wanted to elaborate further on my academic and in addition extracurricular skills which have equipped me greatly to be able to shine a light on my own capabilities as well as my weaknesses at this time! I think that I have developed my communication skills via group work with the rest of the tutors and programme coordinators and also have had the privilege to really just go into further detail about what actually makes me tick and I really appreciate how supportive everyone has been in terms of my development and progress thus far. But how about he excitement of sharing a wonderful session with my tutees? We usually discuss the relevance of outside-of-the-box thinking and how phenomenal it is when the student and their loved ones get to choose what will happen during the lesson itself and also set the standards regarding the content to be covered so the sessions are usually quite fun and engaging to be honest! :-) I really enjoyed my time at the UCL School of Pharmacy while studying for the MPharm degree and I am just waiting to be able to sit some deferred final year exams and graduate hopefully quite soon following a recent gap year actually. I did graduate with a first in MSci in Pharmaceutical Studies back in October 2022. Now I am just in the process of applying for medical school and tend to spend my free time on either reading novels, playing the keyboard or making artsy-craftsy notes which will hopefully contribute towards a revision blog that I am starting to establish. I also like going for walks and exploring all sorts of new exciting places within London. I did of course go to Exeter medical school back in 2017 and left (for personal reasons such as the PBL structure of the course) before joining UCL in 2018. This means I am quite agile when it comes to things like discussing interview techniques and CV requirements if needed for individual students. I also tend to motivate my tutees to stay and CONTINUE with what they are doing rather than back away, especially in the face of challenges! This is because I myself wish I hadn't left medicine and now am re-applying so it indicates my perseverence and understanding of the new and surprising aspects of the course! ;)

Lower Level: Maths and English GCSE: Economics A-Level: Economics Higher Level: Excel, and Powerpoint Hello, I am Frances! Do you need a teacher who is patient, thorough, and enthusiastic about helping you improve your skills? As someone who has been and still is a student, I understand the struggles that students face with learning. My aim is to help students tackle their learning challenges, unlock their potential, and put them on a path that fosters continual growth. I am particular about understanding the individual needs of my students by using effective communication and problem-solving skills to tailor my teaching to address these needs. I have a degree in Economics and Statistics and that sparked my interest in data analysis. I enjoy listening to soft rock music, going out to try new food, salsa dancing, going to the beach, watching animations, and conversing about superheroes. While I am happy to discuss tutoring around these interests, I am also open to discussing your interests.
