Hi there! I have over 4 years experience tutoring a range of subjects. My specialties are maths, physics, chemistry and Spanish, which I've mostly taught at A-Level and GCSE tiers. I have a BA in mathematics which I studied alongside tutoring, so I can appreciate teaching from both sides of the classroom. Much of my experience revolves around helping students to prepare for exams, and working through past papers together is an invaluable tool for this. I'm also very passionate about my subjects, with STEM I've always had a deep personal interest in how the Universe works, and I've always loved Spain and seeing how the logic in different languages works. I enjoy explaining what I know to others, which puts me in a good position to be a tutor. It's also great to see students progressing over time. My tutoring method is based around giving the student the tools they need and guiding them to solve problems themselves, rather than simply being told the answers. I believe this process helps students to learn how to think critically, and thus become more independent and able to solve problems on their own in the future. Some of my hobbies include hiking with my dog, learning languages and exploring new places! BA in mathematics

Hello, my name is Kirstie and I have been teaching for 21 years. I have spent time both in British secondary schools and in schools in Vietnam and Singapore. My main subject and passion is the study of History and I can teach this from Key Stage 3 all the way up to A-Level. My favourite period is the Tudors and I particularly enjoy the stories of the women of this time. I also tutor KS3 English and GCSE English Language and English Literature and am very familiar with AQA, Eduqas and Edexcel exam boards. I also have experience teaching Geography up to GCSE and find the two subjects actually quite complement each other with many of the themes over-lapping. I discovered a love for geography from my love of the great outdoors – I would often find myself on the top of a mountain admiring glacial landscapes and wondering how all the features were formed. This in turn links to my philosophy for education: I believe education should be a journey of discovery that allows the learner to move forwards with their knowledge and understanding of the world around them without putting them under so much pressure that they don’t enjoy it. I believe that effort is necessary in order to be successful, but that learning should not be a struggle or something that is dreaded. I am here to help students achieve their goals and become successful members of their community. In my spare time I enjoy running and drinking coffee with friends. I have 2 cats and have been married for almost 7 years. I am currently learning French in order to pursue my dream of moving to France to start a new life on the continent. As well as my degree in History and English and Literary Studies and my PGCE History, I have a TESOL certificate. I spent a month in Prague getting my TESOL and then taught ESL in Vietnam for 2 years. Outside of classroom education, I have my Lowland Leader award and spent 4 years running the Duke of Edinburgh award at my school.

I graduated with a First in BSc Medical Sciences Firstly, we will work out the student's weak topics using a past paper. Then, we will focus on those topics. I am good at explaining concepts in an easy-to-understand way. I use homework videos and questions to reinforce the student's knowledge. I also use end of topic tests and past papers. We will set time-specific goals, so the student has already achieved their target grade by the time their exam comes around. I know exactly what the examiners are looking for in your answers, so I will coach you on how to gain all the marks for each type of question. By the time we have spent a few months together, your understanding will have improved greatly. Last year, 3 out of 3 students met their target grades : 5 (foundation), 7, and A* (Welsh GCSE) Subjects I teach: Maths: Year 7 - 11 Chemistry: Year 7 - 11 Biology: Year 7 - 11 Exam boards: AQA OCR Edexcel (not iGCSE) GCSE - 9A* A including Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics A Levels - A* Biology, A Maths, A Chemistry AS Level - A Physics BSc Medical Science (First) Duke of Edinburgh award Young Leaders in Service Award (education, volunteering with elderly) Basic Life Support

Hi, my name is Rabiah. I’m a Psychology graduate from Loughborough University, currently working full-time as a mental health coach alongside tutoring. I’m an outgoing, positive, and approachable person who values building strong, supportive relationships with the students I work with. Working in mental health has deepened my understanding of how young people learn best — especially when they feel heard, motivated, and confident. I bring that same mindset into every tutoring session, creating a space that is both structured and calm, where students feel encouraged to ask questions, take ownership of their learning, and challenge themselves. Outside of work, I love traveling, socialising, and creating content for social media. During the pandemic, I also found a strong passion for giving back — and was proud to be recognised as a lead volunteer for the charity Penny Appeal. 👋 About Me - Hi, I’m a tutor with over 2,000 hours of experience since 2021, specialising in 11+, GCSE, and A-Level Psychology, English, and History. I’ve worked with students of all levels — from those aiming for top grades to those just looking to build confidence — and I always shape lessons around what really works for them. I studied English Literature, Psychology, and History at A-Level, and went on to earn a degree in Psychology from a top 10 UK university. I’ve always had a passion for writing and learning, and I bring that energy into every session. ✏️ How My Lessons Work - My sessions are fun, relaxed, but structured. I like to create a collaborative space, where the student has a voice in what we cover and how we work — whether that’s preparing for an upcoming mock, tackling a difficult topic, or building long-term skills. At the start of each session, I include a short activity (like a spelling challenge or mind map) to activate the brain and get focused. I bring in creative tools, real-life examples, and even storytelling — especially in History — to keep students engaged and make concepts stick. 💬 What Students Love- Students often tell me they enjoy the mix of freedom and structure in lessons. I adapt my teaching style to suit them — whether they prefer visuals, discussion, writing practice, or a bit of everything. I’ve found that when students feel heard and involved, they become more motivated and independent learners. 🎯 Results I’m Proud Of - - Helped a student go from a grade 6 to 8 in both English Literature and Language - Supported a struggling History student to achieve a Grade A in their GCSE - Helped many students pass 11+ exams and gain places at selective grammar schools - Built exam confidence and readiness for those aiming for college and university offers I’ve also helped with homework support, long-term exam planning, and short bursts of intensive revision — I’m flexible depending on what the student needs. 👩🏫 A Bit More About Me - Alongside tutoring, I’ve had real-life experience understanding children’s needs — I’m also the older sibling to seven younger brothers and sisters, which has taught me more than any textbook ever could! I’m patient, understanding, and always ready to encourage students to reach beyond what they thought they could do. Tutoring isn’t just a job for me — it’s something I genuinely enjoy. Seeing my students grow in confidence, learn to think independently, and make week-by-week progress (no matter how small) is what keeps me going.

Mathematics and Chemistry tutor up to GSCE level Hello, you can call me Teejaay! I have been tutoring for 10 years now and it's truly been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I've helped so many students achieve their academic goals year after year. I specialize in the areas of Math and Science for elementary, high school and college students. I am well-versed in tutoring elementary school children and upwards, in any topic that is required; particularly common core Math and Science I have kept myself to a high standard as an educator and have always will expect the same from my students. I love working with students and encouraging the best work they can offer! As a teacher, I have been able to reach a myriad of ages within a diverse socio-economic group of students. Daily, I have been allowed to learn the best strategies and implement them in my teaching experience I had my first degree in Chemical Engineering in 2012 I did a post graduate diploma in Education I also have a Masters degree in Science Education I am a registered teacher I chose teaching as a profession because I love the impact one can have on individual children and touch lives. Of course it’s a great responsibility, but at the same time I cannot imagine devoting my life to something else, especially since I love being around learners–which is likely the second reason why I want to be a teacher. In my view, teaching is more a mission than a job really, especially in the uncertain times we live nowadays. I have been teaching all my life! I want to become a teacher because I believe to have the right skills, abilities, and attitude to become a good teacher. And I enjoy teaching, talking to learners, listening to them, trying to understand their emotional world, and be a good role model for them. At the end of the day, we should do a job in which we see some meaningful purpose. I know that I could earn twice as much working in some big corporation analyzing some data or sitting at a computer programming another mobile application, the billionth on the app store…. But I just don’t see a point in such type of work. Teaching is a completely different story- -you are impacting real lives!

Hi there! I am an experienced and empathetic English Literature and Language tutor with over 5 years of experience and many success stories under my belt. I have experience teaching English Literature and English Language for the following levels and exam boards: A-Level— AQA, OCR, WJEC Eduqas; GCSE— AQA, OCR, WJEC Eduqas; Key Stage 3, as well as the 11+ exams. I'm also very interested in tutoring students at the undergraduate level. I only (fluently) speak English, and I do not have any SEN tutoring experience. My approach to tutoring is student centric, with a focus on developing skills via scaffolding. I encourage participation and employ multimedia learning tools when and where appropriate. Empathy and support are the cornerstones of a good classroom experience, so I am highly patient with all of my students and try to structure my tutoring to build on their schoolwork and complement their existing learning. My proudest moments are when something has 'clicked' for one of my students that they have previously struggled with in class! In my spare time, I (predictably) enjoy reading, walking and listening to podcasts, but I'm also an enthusiastic home cook, amateur forager and volunteer at a local art gallery. I have something of a tech-y side also, and I've been known to tinker with computers and play videogames (usually on the artsier side)! In 2021, I graduated from the English Master's programme at the University of Liverpool with a strong Distinction and a highly commended dissertation. I had also previously completed a BA at UoL, and received As and A*s in my English Literature A-Level and GCSEs. My Master's degree specialised in contemporary and modern literature, but I love Victorian, Renaissance and classic lit too! I'm a bit of a nerd for literary theory and poetry in particular (my MA dissertation even drew on my experience of teaching poetry to young people).
