Medicine reject at A-level who decided to pursue biomedical sciences instead to explore several career routes in science. Upon further exploration through experiences in healthcare, decided to give medicine one more chance as a postgraduate degree and recieved an offer from Oxford for medicine. Interests include music, gaming and travelling. Tutoring GCSE and A-level Maths and Sciences for over 4 years helping over 40 students achieve their dream grades with a mean result improvement of 2 grades. I also assist in UK medical school admissions tests, personal statement writing and interviews (Oxbridge included). My teaching style heavily revolves around putting methods to practise by attempting several exam questions during lesson time. The goal is to familiarise yourself with exam techniques to the point where exam questions do not startle you. After moving to the UK in 2015, I pursued my GCSEs which I completed in 2019, achieving five 9s, four 8s and two 7s with 9s in Maths and Sciences. I realised my passion for science and decided to pursue Biology, Chemistry and Maths for A-levels where I achieved 3A*s. After being rejected from medicine, I decided to complete a BSc in Biomedical Sciences at UCL, achieving a 1st Class Honours. During my degree I realised my passion lies in medicine and decided to try one more time by changing key parts of my application. Luckily, I received offers from Oxford and Warwick for Graduate-Entry Medicine.

I am a first-year medical student at the University of Plymouth with over two years of experience teaching and supporting students academically. Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy, and I find it extremely rewarding to help students build confidence, improve their understanding, and achieve their academic goals. Through my teaching experience, I have developed strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and approachable way. My favourite subjects are mathematics and chemistry, as I enjoy the logical thinking and problem-solving skills they develop. These subjects were key to my own academic success, which is why I am particularly passionate about teaching them. I understand the challenges students often face in these areas and enjoy breaking down difficult topics into manageable steps to help students succeed, just as I did. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Alongside teaching, I enjoy reading, which has helped me develop patience, curiosity, and a reflective approach to learning. These skills influence my teaching style, as I value understanding each student’s individual needs and learning styles. I am enthusiastic about continuing to teach alongside my studies and am committed to helping students reach their full potential through clear explanations, encouragement, and consistent support. I am currently a first-year medical student at the University of Plymouth, a position that reflects both my long-standing academic commitment and my passion for medicine. I am thoroughly enjoying my degree and find the course both intellectually stimulating and deeply rewarding. The integrated, patient-centred approach at Plymouth has strengthened my interest in clinical medicine and reinforced my motivation to pursue a career as a doctor. Prior to starting medicine, I completed one year of Biomedical Science at the University of Plymouth. This experience played a crucial role in shaping my academic development and confirming my desire to study medicine. During my time studying Biomedical Science, I gained a strong foundation in human biology, disease mechanisms, and scientific research, which has been invaluable in supporting my transition into medical school. The skills I developed during this year, including critical thinking, independent learning, and data analysis, have greatly enhanced my confidence and preparedness for the demands of the medical degree. My academic journey is supported by strong performance at A level, where I achieved three As in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. These subjects provided me with a solid scientific and analytical foundation, particularly relevant to the study of medicine. Biology and Chemistry strengthened my understanding of human physiology and biochemical processes, while Mathematics developed my problem-solving and logical reasoning skills. Additionally, my secondary school education reflects consistent academic excellence. I achieved six 9/8s in GCSE in Additional Mathematics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Environmental Management. These results demonstrate my early aptitude for science and numeracy, as well as my ability to manage a challenging academic workload. Overall, my educational background highlights my dedication, resilience, and sustained commitment to pursuing a career in medicine.

I’m Masao, a Biological Sciences graduate from Imperial College London, and I specialise in helping students build strong academic foundations while developing confidence in their own ability. Having studied Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A-level, and later applying these subjects at a top-tier university, I understand exactly what examiners expect and how students can bridge the gap between “understanding content” and achieving top marks. What makes me stand out is my ability to explain complex ideas in simple, memorable ways. During university, I often supported peers in revising coursework and preparing presentations, and I realised that many students struggle not because they don’t know the material, but because they don’t know how to organise their thinking, apply concepts to questions, or express ideas clearly. I focus on these areas through structured lessons, worked examples, and guided problem-solving. My approach combines subject knowledge with personalised study strategies. I spend time identifying where a student gets stuck, and I build step-by-step clarity, and I enjoy seeing students become independent learners who no longer rely on memorisation, but instead truly understand what they’re doing. Ultimately, I aim to make learning less overwhelming and more rewarding. With the right guidance, every student can improve rapidly, and I’m committed to helping them achieve the grades they’re capable of. I graduated from Imperial College London with a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences. I did both A levels and GCSE in the UK, with my A levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths. I have experience teaching primary school kids and also doing sports with special needs chlildren.

Hi my name is Mathew, I'm a 20 year old dental student studying in Bulgaria. From secondary school I have always been involved in helping fellow students understand topics in Maths and Science and would always be seated with someone during lessons so that I can help them. This way I have assisted 2 of my closest friends achieve high grades in maths and science during our GCSE's. I love teaching because it enables me to pass on knowledge and little tips and tricks I learnt whilst studying which will not only enable my students to understand topics better but also pass on this information to their peers. I'm really patient and can explain topics to students as many times as they need. I like to break things down and approach difficult questions and problems via simplified routes which enables students to build up their understanding from the basics of the subject. Outside of teaching I enjoy being active and playing sports, especially cricket and badminton. I also love cars and love learning about how things work. Majority of my secondary school education was at Thomas Becket Catholic school. Here was where I was first introduced into teaching by my maths teacher who would make me sit with people that struggled with the subject so I can help them. I went on to study My A-levels at Northampton School for Boys. I currently study Dental Medicine at the Medical University of Sofia in Bulgaria.
