Language: English - Fluent Preferred Age Group: GCSE, A-Level Hello, my name is Tom and I LOVE all things Maths and Physics! I'm beginning my fourth year of studying these subjects at university, so I know the struggles of the student first hand. At GCSE I achieved an A*, 8 A's and 2 B's, with the A* in Maths and an AA in Double Award Science. At A-Level I took Maths, Physics and Software Systems Development and got 2 A*'s and an A respectively. Hi! I am currently a second-year student at Leeds University studying Zoology. I have a passion for biology but, more specifically, animal biology. I hope to eventually pursue a career in conservation or the study of animal behaviour. My first year at university was almost completely virtual. I, therefore, have first-hand experience with online learning and I can appreciate that it may be more difficult to engage with learning over a computer. My year has taught me many valuable things but something I have certainly picked up is what works online; I am eager to make these lessons engaging and interesting. At primary school level, I am able to teach in any subject, I also have experience with the 11+, having passed and attended a Grammar School. I am looking to teach mostly English Literature and Biology. Despite this, having achieved an A* grade in Chemistry, Physics, French, Spanish, ICT and Maths, as well as English Language and Biology, and an A grade in English Literature and Geography in my GCSEs, I am comfortable in all of these subjects. Having also obtained an A grade at A-level Biology, I am extremely excited about having the opportunity to teach this subject, I hope to be able to share my passion and show just why biology is so great! My interests aren't refined to biology, however; reading has always been an integral part of my life and this is reflected in my love for the study of English as a whole. The book “A Thousand Splendid Suns” by Khaled Hosseini was introduced to me when studying A-level English Literature and has remained to be my favourite novel. I would be very happy to teach both Biology and English Literature to an A-level standard. Outside of academia, I enjoy art. I have recently begun to commission canvas oil paintings and I am also a member of art society at university where we regularly attend art workshops such as life drawing. I also took a year out before joining university in which I was lucky enough to work a ski season in La Plagne, France. Here I worked as a chalet host for three months which was an amazing experience.

Hello! My name is Zoha, and I'm currently navigating through my masters year in my Pharmaceutical Chemistry Degree. I have just finished a year in industry working as a formulations chemist at Domino Printing Sciences, Cambridge - from which I can offer real-world insights that enhance understanding and make lessons even more engaging. I now serve as a peer mentor - once again - on my course, where I support fellow students in navigating student life and academic studies. Beyond my professional and academic life, I have a love for learning that extends into everything I do, which is why tutoring has become such a rewarding experience for me. I teach a variety of subjects, with a focus on GCSE and A-Level Maths and Chemistry. With experience in teaching a range of exam boards including Edexcel, AQA Mathematics, AQA Sciences, and SQA National 5s, I bring a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum and exam expectations. My aim is not just to help students pass their exams, but to instil a deeper understanding of the material, which fosters both confidence and curiosity. My tutoring style is calm, clear and supportive. I understand that each student learns in their own way, so I tailor my sessions to suit individuals needs and learning styles. Whether it's building foundational knowledge, tackling tricky topics, or preparing for exams, my goal is to help students feel confident and capable. I aim to create an engaging, comfortable learning environment where questions are always welcome (there's no such thing as a stupid question!) and progress - big or small - is celebrated. Outside of teaching, I’m always exploring new hobbies - currently, I enjoy sketching, painting, crocheting, knitting and computer programming. I’m also a plant enthusiast, always discovering new ways to nurture and grow! I find that this curiosity and love for learning spills over into my teaching, where I encourage students to develop a similar mindset of exploration and growth. If you're looking for someone who brings strong subject knowledge, and a thoughtful, encouraging approach to lessons, I’d be happy to support you or your child on their learning journey. Let’s work together to build skills, boost confidence, and make steady progress toward academic success! Currently studying an MChem in Pharmaceutical Chemistry working towards first class honours. Hi! I’m Aswin, a 5th-year medical student at Imperial College London. I tutor GCSE and A-Level Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, and also support students applying to medical school with UCAT, interviews, and personal statements. My teaching style is calm, supportive, and tailored to each student — helping them build confidence, understand topics clearly, and succeed in exams and applications. I attended Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School, where I completed my GCSEs and A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths. I’m now a fifth-year medical student at Imperial College London, where I’ve also completed an intercalated BSc in Biomedical Engineering. I’m currently finishing my MBBS degree and have been actively involved in peer teaching — particularly supporting Year 3 students with OSCEs and clinical skills. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in both science and communication, and I use that to support students preparing for exams, university applications, and medical school itself.

Hi! My name's Rebecca, and I am a soon-to-be PhD Student, specialising in computational chemistry. I have just finished an integrated master's in Natural Sciences at Cambridge, meaning I've studied Physics and Chemistry at a university level. I have experience supporting university admissions, where I volunteered on open days, school visits, and summer schools throughout my undergraduate studies. A big part of this was small group teaching of year 12s, where we started at A-level content and developed to first-year undergraduate topics. I have also worked as a mentor on Cambridge's STEM SMART programme for Year 12 students. This widening participation program focused on pastoral support for students from low-income backgrounds looking to apply to top universities in the STEM subjects. I am a tutor because I love teaching just as much as I love science, but also because the current A-level system doesn't show you how valuable the knowledge you learn is to the field. I am hoping that together, we'll not only get the grade you want but that I'll also help you appreciate how important the things you learn are in the world of science! My tutoring style focuses on visual learning and understanding the basics rather than relying on memorisation. I focus on helping you grasp the core principles and building up from there. When you truly understand the fundamentals, you can confidently approach any question because you know how it all fits together. Understanding is only one part of the process; practice makes perfect. We'll also focus on exam technique, specifically what the examiners from your exam board want from you and how best to approach the exam. In my spare time, I love to cook, paint and sew! I currently tutor Maths GCSE and A-level. I do not tutor 11+ or SATs. ----------------- I’ve always loved maths and science. I took two additional maths qualifications during my GCSEs and regularly competed in UKMT challenges. At A-level, I studied Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, and Physics, which is where I realised my real passion lay in the physical sciences. I went on to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge, a broad and rigorous course that allowed me to explore a wide range of scientific subjects before specialising. I took Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, and Applied Maths in my first year. In second year, I continued with Chemistry and also studied the History and Philosophy of Science (a bit of a wildcard choice, but one I found genuinely fascinating). I eventually specialised in Chemistry, focusing mainly on theoretical and quantum chemistry, a field that merges the logical structure of physics with the molecular insight of chemistry. I graduated with a 2.1 in my undergraduate degree and decided to stay on for a fourth year to complete my integrated Master’s. My final-year research was in computational chemistry, where I simulated how proteins behave under different conditions. This work sat at the interface of chemistry, physics, and biology, allowing me to apply concepts from across the sciences. It was fully computer-based (a massive plus - I’ve never been a fan of lab work!) and I was proud to finish the year with a First. I loved the experience so much that I wasn’t quite ready to leave academia. I’m now about to begin a PhD at King’s College London, researching novel bio-based materials (ideally with minimal time spent in the lab)! My undergraduate journey wasn’t without challenges. Cambridge is tough, and I was diagnosed with dyslexia after receiving unexpectedly low marks in my first-year exams. My performance steadily improved as I learned how to work with my learning style. I’ve always been a visual and hands-on learner, which likely explains why Chemistry felt so natural to me. My academic ups and downs have deeply influenced how I approach tutoring - I understand what it’s like to struggle despite working hard, and empathy helps me support my students more effectively. I believe that learning should be about building accurate understanding, not just memorising facts, and I strive to make that a reality in every session I teach.
