I am an English Intervention Tutor in a UK secondary school, with a BA in English with Creative Writing. I have a National Tutoring Programme certificate and I am also TEFL qualified. I have over two years’ experience of tutoring and over two years’ experiences as a TEFL teacher. I know that the road to higher education is not easy. In fact, GCSE and A-level years were really tough for me. I know things can be overwhelming at this level and I aim to do everything I can to help students along the way. With lots of hard work, I managed to achieve A*s in both A Level and GCSE English. I also achieved best in my year in my undergraduate degree. I would love to use the skills I have learnt to help students achieve the grades they want. I will personalise the lesson to you and your particular exam specification. I will do my own homework for each lesson, making sure I am familiar with mark schemes and set texts. For TEFL students, I take a personal approach, assessing your most important goals and tailoring lessons to these goals. I try to incorporate elements of reading, writing and speaking into each lesson. In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, learning Spanish and watching football. I promise to be a reliable, hard-working and personal tutor.

Hi, I’m Maja! (Pronounced Maya). I’m an astrophysics postgrad and a qualified secondary school science teacher. I’ve been through the full rollercoaster of science education, from fighting my way through a master’s degree and emerging with first-class honours, to teaching Year 9s on a Friday afternoon who would rather be anywhere else. Now I help GCSE and A-Level students believe what I already know: you can do this. My goal is to make science feel understandable, interesting, and even a bit fun. When I’m not teaching, you'll find me hanging upside down on an aerial hoop, or writing stories inspired by science and folklore. I went to secondary school in Hungary, where I was initially more interested in the humanities, until I fell in love with space and modern physics. For my leaving qualifications, I completed Advanced Exams in Mathematics and Physics and achieved an A. At university, I completed an integrated Master of Physics degree at the University of Southampton. My first three years focused on general physics (including lab work, mechanics, quantum physics, solid state physics, and wave physics) with a few modules of astronomy. During my master’s year, I had the incredible opportunity to conduct research at the Harvard & Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, where I studied the relationship between black holes and their host galaxies and wrote my thesis on this topic. I graduated with first-class honours in Astrophysics. After university, I felt drawn to education and wanted to help students grasp the beauty of science, so I completed a year of school-centred initial teacher training. I now hold a PGCE with QTS as a qualified science teacher.

Hello there! My name is Rajvir and I am a former student who has studied Maths, Further Maths and Physics at A-levels. I used to be a student who had struggled a lot at the start of Year 12 (the start of my A-levels) and found it quite difficult to catch up at first. However, I was fortunate to be surrounded by a bunch of talented people too who were willing to help me learn. Through doing so/experiencing this, I've gained an insight into what it's like to be on the receiving end as a tutee. I've then used these teaching techniques of mine to help others around me improve and motivate them into striving to do better in Maths too. I find satisfaction and joy in knowing I can help make a tedious subject seem a tad bit more bearable and can help find the "inner mathemetician" in people I support. I generally tend to take a casual approach when teaching and work hard questions at the start after teaching basic concepts to find the weaknesses of those I tutor and have found this to be quite effective in the past!! I hope to be of great help and look forward to meeting everyone!! Raj :)

My name's Uzair, and I'm an undergraduate student studying Chemistry and Molecular Physics at the University of Nottingham. Over my past three years at university, I've learned a lot, and figured it may prove useful to try to help others strive toward realising their best selves as far as academic growth is concerned. Speaking from personal experience, the learning process can feel incredibly daunting at times, but I'm hoping to make it more enjoyable for those who believe that's something they'd benefit from. At GCSE I achieved 5A*s, 3As, 2Bs and a C. My A*s included Maths (which I sat a year early), Physics and Chemistry - and I also got an A in Further Maths. New tutor
Hi there! I'm English tutor Daniela and I have taught English for more than 10 years. I started teaching English in 2011 when I was still a college student. This was an online teaching job in which I was tasked with assisting the employees of a large oil company with their e-learning course. Later on in 2014, I was offered a teaching position at the university where I had graduated from. I taught English as a second language to more than 5000 students over the course of 5 years. In 2019, I moved to Spain and decided to resume my online teaching career. During these last 3 years, I have taught English to young learners and adults from multiple nationalities and linguistic backgrounds. During all these years, I have met wonderful and smart students from lots of countries across the globe. Each student I have encountered along the way has taught me that learning takes place when you feel safe, comfortable, understood and above all when you are having a great time. The most fundamental aspect I always bear in mind when I teach a lesson is: students do not learn from people who they do not like. Fun memories stick with us. Speaking of fun things, I love learning about philosophy, learning new languages, reading and watching animated as well as sci-fi movies. A language must be seen as something that is alive not as a static set of rules in a book. My intention in every class will show you how language is all about real communication and how context is everything in language learning. There are great habits that effective language learners need to develop and I will share them with you, so that you optimize your learning process. After graduating from high school, I immediately started my bachelor’s degree in the teaching of English as a second language. I graduated from university in 2013 with the bachelor’s thesis: “A professional development program in the public school Hugo Angel Jaramillo through pondering upon content and language integrated learning” and became an English teacher. While I was still carrying out my university studies, I took the TKT course and test. TKT stands for Teaching Knowledge Test and it is offered by the University of Cambridge. The course as well as the test have three modules. Module 1: Language and background to language learning and teaching. Module 2: Lesson planning and use of resources for language teaching. Module 3: Managing the teaching and learning process. Later on in 2019, I took a 120 hour TESOL certificate course which allowed me to brush up on some teaching basics. In 2020, I started my master’s degree in the teaching of English and Spanish as foreign and/or second languages in the University of Alicante. I graduated in 2021 with the master’s thesis “Implementing an online gamified flipped classroom to address emerging shortcomings in the rapidly evolving EMI field”.
