Why hire a German tutor to help with your German lessons?
German is spoken as a first or second language by around 130 million people. It is also Europe's second most spoken language. Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Principality of Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Switzerland all speak German as their official language. Without a doubt, this is a compelling reason to examine whether learning German is worthwhile.
For many centuries, German was regarded as a lingua franca (a language used as a common language among speakers of diverse original languages) in Europe. As a bridge between Central and Eastern Europe, German still performs this duty to some extent today.
However, many students have problems keeping up with German lessons. And that's understandable. Because the curriculum is so intense that the teachers in many schools have very little time to explain the subject matter or answer students' questions in the necessary depth.
Since many elements of German lessons are not easy to understand and convey (grammar, for example), parents are often unable to help their children either.
For all these reasons, many students are stressed, worried about bad grades and don’t have fun during German lessons. But that doesn’t need to be the case.
Our tutors from GoStudent will be happy to support your child with their individual problems and learning goals when it comes to their German lessons. Regardless of whether your child is in primary school, secondary school or at university, you’ll be able to find the help you need. We will be able to find a tutor who suits your child exactly.
Our exam preparation and tutoring services are very popular. Does your child need homework help, exam preparation or just to practice their skills with a native? Contact us and we will provide you with the best possible support so that your child can achieve their goals.
The advantages of studying German
The German language is currently experiencing a strong comeback. Presumably, German was seldom considered as useful a language as it is today. Germany is now associated with a strong economy, free politics and general success abroad.
Many people learn (or want to improve) a particular language because it may have economic and financial benefits for them in the future. This not only applies to foreigners who are learning German as a second foreign language, but also to native speakers. The better the expression and the understanding of the language, the better the educational and career opportunities. Language skills are the key to success.
German is a multi-layered language with a strong tradition and history. There’s a reason that German has been considered the language of literature, poetry and science for many years.
Interesting fact: did you know that the German language has a vocabulary of over 300,000 words?
German as a foreign language offers numerous possibilities for your future. Including better job opportunities and an improved quality of life.
Here are some of the advantages that German as a foreign language offers:
Access to exchange programs between Germany and many other countries
Job opportunities in Germany
Study opportunities in Germany
Understanding about art, culture and music
travel experiences
Cultural integration
Access to Science Scholarships
Enhanced global career opportunities
Which topics are covered in German lessons?

In secondary school, the issues become more complicated and, especially with the direct transition to secondary school, the first problems with understanding often arise, with which parents usually cannot help either.

German exam preparation and German revision

Is this the case with your child? Then now is the right time to get started with one of our friendly and professional tutors to help prepare them for their exam. German homework help
Many students are unable to follow German in the subject because they lack the appropriate learning experience.
This learning experience can be made with homework, but only if students are not overwhelmed by doing it and feel left alone.
For this reason, our tutors offer homework help for German. This will help you to keep up with the material, to have good experiences in German lessons and to strengthen your self-confidence.
German tuition for degree level
German graduates develop skills in organisational understanding and cultural sensitivity. Many go on to study further or become teachers, either of foreign languages in the UK or of English abroad.
There are also exciting career opportunities for those with good language skills across many industry sectors.
Graduates of German studies often work as librarians, journalists, editors in publishing houses, cultural managers, and are active in corporate communications or write non-fiction books and novels. Whether in media companies, research or public relations: Germanists can be found in many areas of the professional world.
By the way: Just like graduates of the German course, some German studies graduates also work as teachers, are employed in Goethe Institutes or work as interpreters.
It's critical to have access to as much help as possible during this critical time of studying in order to prepare students for assessments, assignments, and exams along the path to obtaining a degree in German.

German: how can tutoring help my child get a place at university?
German is a competitive subject to gain entry to - which is why it’s all the more important to make sure your child is reaching the entry requirements for GCSEs and A levels.
One of the advantages of GoStudent is that you can use your credits over a variety of subjects so you can study German and the other subjects that are needed for entrance into university at the same time. The grades you need for entry to a German course on average are listed below (data taken from UCAS.) Check out the homepage of your desired university for more detailed information.
England
A levels — At least two A levels are normally required for admission to a language-related degree. The entry criteria for universities and colleges range from BBB to AAB, with ABB being the most frequent. If you're looking for a degree in English or a modern foreign language like French, Spanish, or German, you'll almost certainly need an A level in the subject, with some colleges requiring a minimum of a B. To demonstrate your capacity to learn a new language, you'll need at least one A level in a foreign language for other language degrees. Some institutions that offer American Studies need an A level in history or English.
You'll also need at least five GCSEs (A-C) in science, English, and maths, in addition to the various A level criteria listed above.
Scotland
Highers - Highers (the most prevalent qualification) have entry criteria ranging from ABBB to AAAAB, with AABBB being the most common. Universities occasionally want Advanced Highers to supplement Highers. When universities or colleges ask for Advanced Highers, they usually require ABB.
