My journey as an engineering student has been full of exciting opportunities to apply maths and science to real-life projects. This fuels my enthusiasm when I teach, and I love sharing examples from my own work. Recently, I worked with TotalEnergies in France, exploring the valorization of desalination concentrate. One of my favorite projects was producing biodiesel from eggshells, which I showcase when discussing energy in physics. I also had a blast running STEM workshops in Dubai for kids. I'm an active member of AIChE and love participating in physics competitions. I won first prize in "Girls Got It" by building a mini robot with my team and creating a simple pendulum model. I'm passionate about science and STEM, and I strive to show my students how thrilling these subjects can be! My name is Karen, and I'm a dedicated tutor for maths and science. Hi, I am Tutor Mega. I have 3 years of experience teaching online and over 5 years of teaching offline. My journey as a tutor started in the university, by helping my colleagues catch up with the curriculum. Hi there, I'm Mustafa! And I'm a 1st year medical student at the University of Manchester who tutors alongside studies in the evenings. I have been tutoring for the past year and a half, with over 200+ hours of experience on various online platforms for Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Incidentally, I took all these 4 subjects for A Level and received A*AAA to showcase my passion for the STEM subjects alongside with the ambition of earning a coveted place in medical school. These subjects have now given me a solid, diverse foundation to teach from which now project into my students whether GCSE or A Level. Teaching is a beautiful art which encapsulates the ability to not only impart your knowledge to helping others progress, but also the opportunity to simultaneously inspire their confidence and self-esteem off the field, since often your confidence from understanding concepts will then project into other areas of your life which can prove beneficial for maintaining a healthy portfolio. Learning from a textbook can only do wonders to a certain limit, but the art to teaching entails a variety of concepts that hold the opportunity to boost morale and confidence in the student's abilities. A concept which is equally important than the contextual learning itself since the drive and hunger to study harder derives from the faith you show in yourself and the support around you. My teaching philosophy is to aim to bring a balance of enthusiasm and meticulousness when it comes to teaching. The teacher-student relationship is pivotal to helping a student progress, hence I emphasise the importance on getting to know my student through their hobbies and interests firstly and relate that to their learning. I intend to expand on their knowledge by developing their concepts through a mixture active engagement where I will annotate concepts on the screen and then ask the student to annotate as well actively to keep the lesson flowing smoothly. We will go through the theory and the content, before then consolidating our learning on exam questions in the latter sect of the lesson which will give a realistic challenge of what you may be examined on. I attended Thornden School for my GCSEs where I achieved 98887776 in my exams. Then I went to Bishop Wordsworth's Grammar School for my A Levels where I achieved A*AAA in Chemistry, Maths, Physics and Biology respectively. I am now in the process of undergoing my MBBS Medicine degree at the University of Manchester Medical School. Currently in Year 1.
