Hi, I’m Maja! (Pronounced Maya). I’m an astrophysics postgrad and a qualified secondary school science teacher. I’ve been through the full rollercoaster of science education, from fighting my way through a master’s degree and emerging with first-class honours, to teaching Year 9s on a Friday afternoon who would rather be anywhere else. Now I help GCSE and A-Level students believe what I already know: you can do this. My goal is to make science feel understandable, interesting, and even a bit fun. When I’m not teaching, you'll find me hanging upside down on an aerial hoop, or writing stories inspired by science and folklore. I went to secondary school in Hungary, where I was initially more interested in the humanities, until I fell in love with space and modern physics. For my leaving qualifications, I completed Advanced Exams in Mathematics and Physics and achieved an A. At university, I completed an integrated Master of Physics degree at the University of Southampton. My first three years focused on general physics (including lab work, mechanics, quantum physics, solid state physics, and wave physics) with a few modules of astronomy. During my master’s year, I had the incredible opportunity to conduct research at the Harvard & Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, where I studied the relationship between black holes and their host galaxies and wrote my thesis on this topic. I graduated with first-class honours in Astrophysics. After university, I felt drawn to education and wanted to help students grasp the beauty of science, so I completed a year of school-centred initial teacher training. I now hold a PGCE with QTS as a qualified science teacher.

I’m currently a medical student and I really like passing my knowledge to young people and helping them achieve the goals that they want. I aspire to create a safe, friendly environment for students, where they can ask me for help whenever. With a deep passion for education, I strive to instil not only knowledge but also critical thinking skills and confidence in my students. I attended Southend High School for Girls and completed my GCSEs there. For A levels,I moved to Southend High School for Boys. Currently i am a medical student at the University of Nottingham. I have about a year of tutoring experience from beforehand, and i have worked at ExploreLearning for a few months.

Hello, My name is Siviwe Msibi, I am a very social person, an animal lover and a very practical person. I love logical debates and have a great time reading up on facts I do not know. My personality is closely linked to my hobbies and this is attributed to my upbringing. I grew up in a very lively environment. This has made me very adventurous and am a risk taker. For my primary education, I started in Eswatini, then after a year went to South Africa in the upper foundational phase. I’ve been teaching math for several years, and I understand that some topics can feel confusing at first—but with the right support, they can become much easier to understand. In my lessons, I break down complex ideas into simple steps. We’ll use clear explanations, real-life examples, and practice together so you don’t just memorize—you actually understand. Whether you’re preparing for exams or just trying to keep up in class, I’ll guide you at your own pace and make sure you feel comfortable asking questions. My goal is to help you build confidence, improve your skills, and maybe even start to enjoy math a little more. I’m really looking forward to working with you—see you in class! I earned my degree in Mathematics Education, where I built a strong foundation in both mathematical concepts and effective teaching methods.
