Hello! My name is Elyn and I am studying Product Design Engineering at the University of Liverpool as a first year undergraduate. I have been a tutor for around a year and half teaching 14-16 year olds and prepping students for their GCSEs. I have a great fondness for teaching, as education has always been a big aspect of my life. I love learning and encouraging others to learn STEM in a more intriguing way. I will be open to teaching GCSE and A level economics, maths and physics. Other facts about me is that I scrapbook, I indulge in art as a creative outlet and competed in the Industrial Cadets Gold project during Year 12. I completed my GCSEs at Cecil Jones Academy and gained 9-5s in: design & technology, Mandarin, maths, chemistry, biology, physics, business, English literature, English language, geography and religious studies. I finished my A levels at Greensward Academy and gained: A at economics, B in maths and C in physics. I am now attending the University of Liverpool studying Product Design Engineering as a first year undergraduate. During my time in sixth form I competed in the Industrial Cadets Gold Project in a group of 6 gaining the "Best Concept Design" and "Most Innovative Project" award. As part of my work experience I have been a tutor for a year and a half and did a 3 week placement for a railway electrification company. These experiences has given a lot of independence and team working skills which I hope may inspire future students.

Hi, I’m Sophie Rose, an enthusiastic and dedicated math teacher! I love helping students explore the world of mathematics in engaging and innovative ways. My goal is to make learning math exciting through interactive activities, real-world applications, and stimulating problem-solving sessions that spark curiosity and build confidence in my students. In my free time, I enjoy solving puzzles and playing chess, which keeps my mind sharp and creative throughout the day. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Biotechnology, where I developed strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills. My scientific background has enhanced my logical reasoning and precision, which I now apply to teaching Mathematics. I create engaging, inquiry-based lessons that connect mathematical concepts to real-world and scientific contexts, cater to diverse learning styles, and foster a supportive environment where every student can build confidence and achieve success.

I’m a fully qualified Maths teacher with QTS, a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, and a PGCE from the University of Sunderland. I currently work as a Mathematics Lecturer by day, and I bring both classroom and 1-to-1 tutoring experience to my students — helping them thrive in their studies and achieve real results. With several years of teaching experience across KS3 GCSE, and A-Level (up to Y12), I have a proven track record of helping students maximise their potential, boost their confidence, and succeed in their exams. Many of my students have gone on to surpass their target grades — a result of carefully tailored, engaging, and effective lessons. I am a dedicated and motivated individual with a strong passion for helping students progress and reach their full potential. With over 2 years of experience working with students of all ages, I enjoy taking on new challenges, setting goals, and creating a supportive environment where learners feel confident and engaged. Outside of tutoring, I love doing henna art, reading crime thriller books, and spending quality time in social activities with family and friends. Building on strong academic performance, I am currently pursuing my studies with a globally recognised professional accounting body.
