Hello! I'm a tutor for GCSE Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Curiosity is so important to me - seizing opportunities wherever possible and always willing to try out a diverse and novel range of experiences. I also apply this mindset to the world of academia. I'm a strong believer that learning across disciplines teaches you one of the most important skills: understanding how someone else thinks. If you've had to deconstruct complicated concepts in a variety of subjects you quickly become adept at understanding where a person is getting stuck. I meet you where you're at. No skipping forward. We identify the gaps. Fill those gaps properly. And build from there. There are very few students who lack ability, they've just not had something explained to them in the right way yet. Another big part of my job is building confidence. Learning how to trust your own judgement and rationale. How to ask the right questions. How to stop panicking and second-guessing yourself during exams. You already have the knowledge, you just have to realise it! I studied Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics at A Level and AS Level - so the subjects I tutor are ones I've lived and breathed through exams myself, not too long ago. I know the syllabuses well. At GCSE, I achieved 13 A*s across a broad range of subjects including Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language, English Literature and Geography, among others. I was also awarded a prize for Citizenship and Academics as Best in Year. Outside of the classroom, I've always looked for ways to stretch myself - whether that was competitive debating, mentoring other students, or delivering weekly talks to school students and hospital staff linking science and medicine with real-world issues. I also earned Gold (Best in Year) in a UK Mathematics Trust-style competition. More recently, I've applied that academic foundation to some pretty varied things - from building mathematical models to address housing challenges, to achieving a top ~0.02% award in an international essay competition.

Hi! I'm Simon, a Chemical Engineering Graduate from the University of Manchester, with over three years of teaching and tutoring experience. For the past 3 years I have been running a tutoring business teaching mostly Maths and Science subjects from Year 7 to A-Level. A key component of the program was a year-long industrial placement, during which I worked for a chemical distribution company. This experience allowed me to gain valuable insight into the commercial side of chemical engineering and build a practical understanding of supply chains, technical sales, and operations. It also enabled me to contribute meaningfully to the company’s work while developing essential workplace skills such as communication, project management, and adaptability. Since completing my degree, I’ve continued working with the same company, now in a professional capacity with a focus on sustainability. My final-year dissertation centred on sustainable surfactant research, which sparked a deeper interest in the environmental impact of chemical processes. This has led me to transition into a more corporate sustainability role, where I support the integration of sustainable practices across the business.

Hi! My name is Aisha and I am a second-year medical student who really enjoys helping students feel more confident in their learning. I remember how stressful school and exams can feel, so I try to be the kind of tutor I would have wanted myself- patient, encouraging, and easy to talk to. I am calm, approachable, and always happy to explain things more than once if needed.
