Hello! My name is Erin, I am currently a first year medical student at the University of Birmingham. As a tutor, my main aim is to quickly determine a students weaknesses, then create a dedicated study plan to help them improve in those areas. I believe that active recall, spaced repetition, and lots and lots of past paper questions - are the key to success! I am well versed in tutoring students of all ages; I have tutored various students ranging from ages 6 to 16 in a variety of different settings. I am also experienced in entrance exam tutoring. Having sat several entrance exams over my lifetime, I understand how to make a study plan that is both time efficient and effective, and how to utilise this study plan effectively. I have previously mentored students who wish to study medicine through UCAS, entrance exam and interview preparation; several of them currently study at top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge! In my spare time, I am a highly creative person - I frequently attend dance classes, I music direct/conduct my university choir, and I scrapbook! I also love to read :) Currently attending the University of Birmingham Medical School - 1st year, Medicine. Attended a top London Grammar school; where I achieved 10 A*s (Grades 8-9) at GCSE level, and 3 As at A level in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. In addition to educational qualifications, I also study the piano; I have completed my Grade 8 and am currently working towards my diploma in Music Performance!

Hi! My name is Mariyah, a friendly and dedicated Maths tutor currently on my gap year after completing my A-levels. I’m passionate about helping students build confidence and reach their full potential in both GCSE Maths and 11+ preparation. Having recently been through the exam process myself, I understand how to explain topics clearly, boost exam technique, and make lessons engaging and approachable. My sessions are tailored to each student’s learning style, focusing on building understanding and confidence step by step. I have recently completed my A-levels at St Clement Danes, studying Maths, Physics and Chemistry, getting BCC. These subjects have strengthened my critical thinking skills, making me have a deeper appreciation for how much we use these subjects every day. Having done the exams, I understand the struggles the students face and how to support them.

I am a first-year Mathematics and Statistics student at the University of Warwick. I have been living in the UK for the past five years, where I completed my GCSEs and A Levels while born and raised in Hong Kong. I studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry at A Level, giving me recent first-hand experience to understand the challenges that student face. What makes me stand out as a tutor is my ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and approachable way and try to spark their interest in the subjects. My goal is to explain concepts methodically to allow students to understand and build confidence in the subject. My aim is to ensure that students grasp the reasoning behind each method while developing the fluency needed to apply their knowledge when required.
