I’m Mane, a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor with over five years of tutoring experience, I specialize in helping students build strong foundations in English and Maths, from Year 1 through Year 11. I have a particular passion for preparing students for the 11+ exams and supporting them through their GCSE English and Maths (both Foundation and Higher levels). In addition to my academic tutoring, I have experience as a mental arithmetic teacher, helping students develop rapid calculation skills and strengthen their numerical confidence. As a multilingual tutor, I speak English, Russian, and Armenian, which allows me to connect with a diverse range of learners and tailor my teaching to their needs. I have successfully completed my Bachelor's degree in Labor Economics at the Armenian State University of Economics and subsequently acquired my Master's degree in International Management from Buckingham University. Additionally, I have achieved certification as a Mental Arithmetic Teacher.

I graduated in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Birmingham and teach Maths to students of all ages up to A level. I achieved A*A*A* at A level in Maths, Physics and Chemistry, reflecting the strong academic foundation I bring to my teaching. With my students, I ensure that their understanding of underlying methods is to the highest possible standard through rigorous practice. In my experience as a student, exposing yourself to different mathematical scenarios builds a great foundation for achieving the best possible grades. My biggest aim for my students is for them to constantly improve so that when they get to the exam, they are confident about any aspect of the syllabus that may arise. For my sessions, I will ask students what they wish to study and ensure I tailor the session around what I am told. If the student is undecided, I will plan lessons around pushing the student to challenge themselves in rigorous practice, with my guidance, around different mathematical concepts in their curriculum. For exams, my main aim is for students to achieve the best grades possible, meeting and exceeding their targets. My highest level of education is an MSci in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Birmingham. Prior to this, I achieved A*A*A* in A-level Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. I have over 3 years of experience tutoring students in Mathematics across a range of ages and abilities, up to A level. Through this experience, I have developed a strong ability to explain difficult concepts clearly, adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, and build both confidence and exam technique. My focus is always on ensuring students fully understand the methods they are using, so they can approach unfamiliar questions with confidence and achieve the best grades possible.

I help KS3 and GCSE students build real confidence in Spanish — not just memorise vocabulary for the next test, but actually understand and enjoy the language. For the past seven years I've guided teenagers through reading, writing, speaking and listening, with lessons built around exactly what they're examined on (AQA specification). Before tutoring, I worked as a journalist — and it shaped how I teach: I break grammar down the way I'd break down a complex story, clearly and without jargon, always checking it's landed before moving on. With years of experience as a former engineer in a Japanese multinational company, I’ve had the opportunity to live and work in Japan, Thailand, and Germany. Chatting with people from all walks of life? Yep, that’s my jam! 🌏😃 Currently, I teach KS2 / KS3 / GCSE / IGCSE/ A Level Maths for AQA, OCR, Edexcel, and CAIE exam boards, and KS3 / GCSE / IGCSE Physics. I also teach Maths (IB AI and AA SL and HL) for the MYP and IB Diploma Programme. I use resources from Pearson, Hodder, Cambridge, Oxford, Collins, Haese, and past papers as reference materials. Furthermore, I'm TEFL-certified and have been teaching English (ESL, Key (A2) PET (B1), First (B2), Advanced (C1) Certification), Math, Physics, and basic Japanese (N5-N4) part-time online for several years. Finally, I have Japanese Language Proficiency N3 (Intermediate) Level certification, so I can teach N5-N4 (Beginner and Upper Beginner) level Japanese to those who are interested in this language.
