I am very enthusiastic about Maths and the Sciences. Having just finished my A Levels studying Biology, Physics, and Mathematics at A Level; I understand the challenges students face when learning these subjects and enjoy helping others build confidence and improve their understanding. I aim to make learning engaging and accessible for every student. I recently completed my A Levels at Queen Anne's School, Reading, where I studied Biology, Physics, and Mathematics. I've had a strong interest in science, sport and problem-solving since I started secondary school, which has inspired me to pursue a degree in Sports and Exercise Science at university. Prior to that, I completed my GCSEs at King's Academy Prospect, Reading, achieving good results across all subjects, including Maths and the Sciences. During school, I enjoyed helping classmates with revision, which sparked my interest in tutoring. My recent experience with the current curriculum gives me insight into how students can succeed both academically and confidently

Throughout my academic journey, I developed a passion for education and a love for helping others reach their potential. In addition to my degree, I have gained valuable experience working as a Teaching Assistant across a variety of subjects, such as English and Science including Mathematics. My role as a Maths TA allowed me to assist students with complex concepts, fostering an environment where they could confidently grasp challenging material. I have also worked as a TA for other subjects as mentioned, where I supported students with learning difficulties, provided additional help during lessons, and guided individuals in areas where they needed extra assistance. This experience has allowed me to cultivate patience, communication skills, and a genuine desire to help others improve academically. I find great satisfaction in seeing students progress and develop their skills, and I continue to be inspired by the positive impact education has on people's lives. Hello! I am a maths tutor with over 8 years of teaching experience. I enjoy helping students understand maths in a clear and simple way while building their confidence. I teach students from primary level to GCSE and A Level, focusing on strong fundamentals, problem solving skills, and helping students feel comfortable asking questions. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, where I developed strong numerical and analytical skills. I also completed an MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, which strengthened my knowledge in mathematics, statistics, and logical problem solving. This academic background allows me to explain mathematical concepts clearly and effectively.

I have worked as a lecturer at De Montfort University for over 15 years. I hold a PGCE in further Education, an MA in English Language Teaching, and a BA honours in English. I taught English for Academic Purposes at university. This enabled me to develop various teaching approaches at different levels of English usage. I have also taught KS3-KS5 in the UK and abroad during which I have been observed several times and demonstrated that I was outstanding. I have used various teaching aids ranging from pictures, flash cards, to a variety of IT techniques. I have also used peer interaction and assessment to develop learners. Teaching at university enabled me to teach presentation skills. This has enabled me to do the same during training, coaching and mentoring sessions with colleagues. I have mentored a number of tutors. In my experience as a university lecturer I have used a variety of online platforms to teach students during the Covid-19 pandemic. I began my journey into English in 2002 when I did a BA (hons) in English at Demontfort university. Following this I did an MA in Children’s Literature in 2005 due to my immense love of reading. However, it was only when I landed a job at a resources centre that I decided to specialize in teaching and so I did a PGCE in education and an MA in English language teaching both in 2007-2009. I absolutely love teaching since then - as cliche as it sounds it is truly my passion and the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. I love my students and to see them excel truly makes me content. I’ve been told that I have a gift for building a rapport with learners and I to feel this is something that comes naturally to me because as a student I myself struggled with being misunderstood and branded as a ‘bad student’. I feel as a result I can relate to students and their struggles more easily. I’m also very patient and an excellent listener.
