I hope to encourage more students into a Mathematics or Physics career by helping them discover the beauty of the subjects. I tutored Year 10 maths in person for a year, and currently help out first years at university with any physics problems they might have. My main method of teaching is first introducing a concept, and practicing questions to consolidate understanding. I make use of analogies as they help students grasp a concept by linking it to something they are already familiar with, and love to challenge them by going slightly beyond what is strictly required by their curriculum, once they are comfortable.

Hello! My name is Elyn and I am studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Liverpool as a second year undergraduate. I have been a tutor for around a year and half teaching 14-16 year olds and prepping students for their GCSEs. I have a great fondness for teaching, as education has always been a big aspect of my life. I love learning and encouraging others to learn STEM in a more intriguing way. During my time in sixth form I competed in the Industrial Cadets Gold Project in a group of 6 gaining the "Best Concept Design" and "Most Innovative Project" award. As part of my work experience I have been a tutor for a year and a half and did a 3 week placement for a railway electrification company. These experiences has given a lot of independence and team working skills which I hope may inspire future students.
