**SSH** Hello, My name is Tasnim. I am a Psychology (BSc) graduate and I enjoy reading and writing as well as supporting others with their work as I tutor in various different subjects. I look forward to meeting new students and helping them with their work and revision. I have studied Sociology for 2 years during my GCSE's and a further 2 years during my A'levels allowing me to obtain a very good understanding of the subject. During my degree I have undertaken studies involving topics in science so I have a good level of knowledge in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. As a Psychology Graduate I have spent 3 years studying Psychology at university as well as 2 years which I spent studying Psychology for A'levels.* I have an A'level in English literature and have written many extensive essays and reports as part of my Psychology degree. *For Psychology please note I do not cover university level research methods/research skill topics.

Hello! My name is Laura Cain and I am a student at Nottingham University. In my spare time, I enjoy playing classical piano and musical arts. I teach classical piano to students around my neighbourhood. I often indulge in winter sports, both playing and watching. I hope to make a difference in the world one day, one small step at a time. In History, I specify in teaching Communist states, the American Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, Crime and Punishment. I attended Kenilworth School and transferred to Kenilworth Sixth form afterwards. I took English Literature, modern History and Sociology for A levels. I am currently in third year, studying BA Hons Classics and Archaeology at the University of Nottingham.

I am a researcher with a strong interest in mathematics, data science, AI and programming. I believe these subjects hold a lot of potential for humanity and therefore enjoy teaching them during my spare time. Of course it’s a great responsibility, but at the same time I cannot imagine devoting my life to something else, especially since I love being around learners–which is likely the second reason why I want to be a teacher. In my view, teaching is more a mission than a job really, especially in the uncertain times we live nowadays. I have been teaching all my life! I want to become a teacher because I believe to have the right skills, abilities, and attitude to become a good teacher. And I enjoy teaching, talking to learners, listening to them, trying to understand their emotional world, and be a good role model for them. At the end of the day, we should do a job in which we see some meaningful purpose. I know that I could earn twice as much working in some big corporation analyzing some data or sitting at a computer programming another mobile application, the billionth on the app store…. But I just don’t see a point in such type of work. Teaching is a completely different story- -you are impacting real lives!
