Hi there! My name is Sahil, a first-year undergraduate student at the University of Warwick studying Economics. I have been tutoring students online in Maths, Physics and Economics from all over the world for over 2 years in interactive and engaging 1:1 lessons. My teaching style focuses on learning content first before applying it to questions. Therefore, lessons will consist of content learning which includes detailed notes on the topic and in-depth walkthroughs of every single question type relating to that topic. This would be followed by practise questions on that topic first with assistance in the lesson and then homework to be completed without assistance to test if the teaching has been successful. I particularly specialise in exam preparation and give my students regular tests to ensure content learned is tested throughout, this way there is less stress on crammed revision which has been proven to boost exam performance. I have tutored Maths from KS3 all the way up to GCSE and A-Level and I also specialise in Further Maths tuition. I have also tutored in Economics at A-Level. Through my experience over the last 2 years, I am up to date with most exam board content and curriculum changes so my lessons are completely relevant to current mark schemes. Hi there! I'm English tutor Daniela and I have taught English for more than 10 years. I started teaching English in 2011 when I was still a college student. This was an online teaching job in which I was tasked with assisting the employees of a large oil company with their e-learning course. Later on in 2014, I was offered a teaching position at the university where I had graduated from. I taught English as a second language to more than 5000 students over the course of 5 years. In 2019, I moved to Spain and decided to resume my online teaching career. During these last 3 years, I have taught English to young learners and adults from multiple nationalities and linguistic backgrounds. During all these years, I have met wonderful and smart students from lots of countries across the globe. Each student I have encountered along the way has taught me that learning takes place when you feel safe, comfortable, understood and above all when you are having a great time. The most fundamental aspect I always bear in mind when I teach a lesson is: students do not learn from people who they do not like. Fun memories stick with us. Speaking of fun things, I love learning about philosophy, learning new languages, reading and watching animated as well as sci-fi movies. My intention in every class will show you how language is all about real communication and how context is everything in language learning. After graduating from high school, I immediately started my bachelor’s degree in the teaching of English as a second language. I graduated from university in 2013 with the bachelor’s thesis: “A professional development program in the public school Hugo Angel Jaramillo through pondering upon content and language integrated learning” and became an English teacher. While I was still carrying out my university studies, I took the TKT course and test. TKT stands for Teaching Knowledge Test and it is offered by the University of Cambridge. The course as well as the test have three modules. Module 1: Language and background to language learning and teaching. Module 2: Lesson planning and use of resources for language teaching. Module 3: Managing the teaching and learning process. Later on in 2019, I took a 120 hour TESOL certificate course which allowed me to brush up on some teaching basics. In 2020, I started my master’s degree in the teaching of English and Spanish as foreign and/or second languages in the University of Alicante. I graduated in 2021 with the master’s thesis “Implementing an online gamified flipped classroom to address emerging shortcomings in the rapidly evolving EMI field”.
