I am an experienced educator with over fifteen years in teaching and mentoring, now specialising in English, Psychology, and Sociology up to A-level. My academic background includes a BA in Sociology, a diploma in Counselling, ACCHP accreditation, and I am currently completing a Master’s in Psychology at the University of Portsmouth. This academic journey, combined with my teaching experience, allows me to provide learners with both subject expertise and practical strategies to achieve success. In English, I focus on building strong foundations in reading, writing, and critical analysis, helping learners gain the confidence to express themselves clearly and effectively. My Sociology and Psychology teaching draws on my academic knowledge and real-world insights, making lessons engaging and relevant by connecting theory to contemporary issues and everyday life. I believe that every learner has unique strengths, and I adapt my teaching style to meet individual needs. My counselling background helps me create a supportive environment where learners feel comfortable to ask questions, take risks, and develop resilience. Organised, approachable, and enthusiastic, I encourage students not only to meet their academic goals but also to grow in confidence and independent thinking. Above all, I am committed to inspiring curiosity, developing critical skills, and empowering learners to reach their full potential in their chosen subjects. My academic background reflects both a strong commitment to education and a passion for understanding people, society, and the human mind. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Education from Griffith University, Australia, where I developed a foundation in social theory, educational practice, and the ways in which learning is shaped by cultural and societal factors. This degree gave me valuable insights into both the structures of society and the transformative power of education. Building on this, I undertook a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling, which allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of human behaviour, communication, and emotional wellbeing. This qualification provided practical tools for supporting individuals and groups, strengthening my ability to create learning environments that are empathetic, inclusive, and responsive to different needs. Currently, I am completing a Master’s in Psychology at the University of Portsmouth, with only the final stage remaining. This advanced study has deepened my knowledge of psychological theory, research, and application. It has also enhanced my analytical and critical thinking skills, and further developed my ability to connect theory with practice. Studying at postgraduate level has reinforced my commitment to lifelong learning and prepared me to bring a high level of academic and practical expertise into my teaching. Taken together, these qualifications demonstrate not only my academic achievement but also my dedication to education, psychology, and counselling—fields that all intersect in my work as an educator and tutor.

New tutor
Hi there! My name is Sahil, a first-year undergraduate student at the University of Warwick studying Economics. I have been tutoring students online in Maths, Physics and Economics from all over the world for over 2 years in interactive and engaging 1:1 lessons. My teaching style focuses on learning content first before applying it to questions. Therefore, lessons will consist of content learning which includes detailed notes on the topic and in-depth walkthroughs of every single question type relating to that topic. This would be followed by practise questions on that topic first with assistance in the lesson and then homework to be completed without assistance to test if the teaching has been successful. I particularly specialise in exam preparation and give my students regular tests to ensure content learned is tested throughout, this way there is less stress on crammed revision which has been proven to boost exam performance. I have tutored Maths from KS3 all the way up to GCSE and A-Level and I also specialise in Further Maths tuition. I have also tutored in Economics at A-Level. Through my experience over the last 2 years, I am up to date with most exam board content and curriculum changes so my lessons are completely relevant to current mark schemes. In an exam environment where it is even harder to get the top grades due to the consequences of grade inflation over the past few years, I would love the opportunity to really help and push your child to achieve their full potential in their studies.

Hi! My name is Raphaelle. If you want to make sense of the challenges in chemistry, maths, or biology, I am the right person to ask. Scientifically minded, I will give you the tools and techniques needed to understand and master difficult concepts that may seem obscure to you. I also enjoy expressing my creativity through playing the violin and painting watercolour, and these activities provide me with an outlet for my stress. I’m not the best at sports (I have zero coordination) but I still have fun even when making a fool of myself! As a tutor, I will not only share my knowledge and study techniques with you, but I will also endeavour to make my lessons interesting and engaging. Observing the improvements in my tutee's performance is the most rewarding part of tutoring. I firmly believe that excelling in a subject is a question of hard work, as well as confidence and self-belief; and I hope to inspire these qualities in you. I am 20 and I am currently a third year medical student at Newcastle University. I'm originally from France, but I grew up in Dubai, where I studied under the British curriculum. Although chemistry and biology were my two favourite subjects at school, I also enjoyed the challenge of maths and physics, where I achieved A* in my A-levels, and 9s in my GCSEs. I passed my ABRSM level 8 in the violin with a Merit and I have played the instrument for 10 years. I am fluent in French and English, and conversational in Spanish (CEFR level B2).

My course is pretentiously named International Social and Public Policy with Politics and it encapsulates my adoration for all things maths, politics and economics and I would love the opportunity to pass on my interests to others. I tutor GCSE Maths and A-level Politics Exam board experience: Edexcel and AQA I have experience tutoring KS3 and sixth-form (11-18) My main aims as a tutor are to engage students with content that challenges them in a rewarding way, but also connect them to content that facilitates a change in their mindset. My hobbies range from poker and chess to schooling my friends at the pool table. They would say I’m competitive but that’s an advantage as it means I strive for greatness and even I fail the process and its lessons are invaluable. One of my favourite things to do is helping people learn. And not just forcefully learning and memorising, but learning in a way they understand. Learning in a way easiest and least challenging for them as an individual. I love teaching Maths because I think it’s amazing how there are so many different ways to get to the correct answer. So even if you might not understand how one way works, that’s absolutely okay because that’s not the only way to the answer. Whichever way works for you in understanding how to get to the answer, is the way we’ll figure out and work with together. And once we do it together, you’ll have the confidence and knowledge to do it independently. That being said, I also love Biology and Chemistry because science is also great. And believe it or not, but the answers are usually easier to find than you’d think. Whether you're wanting to excel and get the top grade, or wanting to pass a subject you're not really in love with, I think everyone has the potential to achieve what they want and continue to advance forward in life. Including you. Whether you believe it or not, you have the potential and ability to succeed. Even if you might need a little help or nudge in seeing that ability, that’s absolutely fine – and I would love to be that person to help give you that encouragement in seeing your potential. We've got this. You’ve got this!

My name is Rebecca and I am from South Wales, United Kingdom. I have experienced living in different places around the UK and I lived in London for several years, which was an amazing experience to meet people from international countries and learn many things about their culture and interests too. I enjoy cooking at home, as formally I have trained on the job as a professional chef, mainly in seafood/fish restaurants and Japanese cuisine. Also, I like going for a walk down the coastline and taking in the scenic views, photography and sometimes video gaming when the time arises. For over a year, I have been teaching English online as a second language to Taiwanese and Chinese students, both juniors and adults. Which became an interest whilst I was teaching sushi classes in London. I decided to advance onto teaching specifically English and conversational topics chosen by students, to further improve their overall English language. From education I gained a TEFL level 5 teaching qualification and a BSc (Hons) in Food and Consumer Management from Birmingham University. Which focused on live industry projects within the FMCG sector, nutrition and the business elements within the food industry. I enjoy cooking at home, particularly Japanese cuisine and seafood dishes that I learnt previously as a professional chef.
