Hello, I’m George, a qualified and experienced Science teacher specialising in Biology. I began teaching in a secondary school and sixth form in 2020 and have more than 2000 hours of teaching experience and have taught hundreds of students across KS3, GCSE, and A-level, helping them achieve real progress and confidence in their science studies. My passion for teaching began during a volunteer placement in Ghana in 2016, where I taught English and helped coach local sports teams, seeing first-hand the transformative power of education. Further to this I also have other experience in coaching and mentoring roles. In 2016, I volunteered for 6 weeks in a primary school in Accra, Ghana. My primary role was teaching English to students, but given that I have achieved a Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training and level 1 qualified rugby coach, I also helped to introduce organised sport in the school and also coached local men's rugby team, the Dansoman Hurricanes.

I chose both these courses as I like to know why the world functions as it does, and what better way to understand this than the political, economic and social geographies; as well as the business/finance world! In my spare time I enjoy running, football and rugby; I also love to ski! Hello! I'm Catherine. My favourite book as a child was 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe,' and I've been in love with the written word ever since. With my degree in English Literature and Creative Writing under my belt, I now use my writing skills to run a successful copywriting and marketing business, but I also spend a lot of time training my clients and running evening classes for local women in business. I found that teaching and helping others brought me a lot of joy and fulfillment, which is why I decided to become a GoStudent Tutor. I take a supportive, friendly and encouraging approach when it comes to teaching, and enjoy thinking outside the box when required to keep lessons fun and engaging.
