I am a BSc Economics graduate from the University of Nottingham I teach GCSE and A Level Business Studies and Economics. Having been a tutor for over 14 months, I have helped students achieve As and A*s in their studies, empowering them to reach their goals and get into top universities. Hello, my name is Kirstie and I have been teaching for 21 years. I have spent time both in British secondary schools and in schools in Vietnam and Singapore. My main subject and passion is the study of History and I can teach this from Key Stage 3 all the way up to A-Level. My favourite period is the Tudors and I particularly enjoy the stories of the women of this time. I also tutor KS3 English and GCSE English Language and English Literature and am very familiar with AQA, Eduqas and Edexcel exam boards. I also have experience teaching Geography up to GCSE and find the two subjects actually quite complement each other with many of the themes over-lapping. I discovered a love for geography from my love of the great outdoors – I would often find myself on the top of a mountain admiring glacial landscapes and wondering how all the features were formed. This in turn links to my philosophy for education: I believe education should be a journey of discovery that allows the learner to move forwards with their knowledge and understanding of the world around them without putting them under so much pressure that they don’t enjoy it. As a Chemical Engineering student, my academic journey is rooted in the fundamentals of sciences and mathematics. I developed a great foundation in sciences by studying double science, mathematics and other subjects for GCSEs and biology, chemistry and mathematics for A-levels. This lead to paving the path for my pursuit in higher education. During my A-levels, I loved sciences more and I always found it intriguing. I delved into biological intricacies and developed a deep understanding of molecular biology, human biology and ecology. I still utilize these lesson in my chosen course by understanding the interactions between biology and biochemical processes and bio-processes in chemical engineering. There are also other concepts I still learn and advance my knowledge in, such as chemical reactions and thermodynamics among others. This means I am equipped with essential chemical principles.
