I'm Mary, an Exeter University graduate with a first class English honours degree. I am an experienced tutor having tutored both online and in my local community for two years. I have familiarity and experience with the UK English curriculum, having taught 11+ English, Key Stage 3, Creative Writing, GCSE English Language and Literature, and A Level English to many students around the local area and online. I have taught a myriad of students from different exam boards and always take care to cover their specific curriculum with them before they begin. My name is Monica and I have just graduated from St. Andrews with an MA in history and social anthropology. I always loved history and indeed still do. I choose to study anthropology because my English teacher got rather annoyed at my consistent questions about the characters' lives. "Just go study anthropology then" - and that is what I did. I am have graduated with a further masters with distinction in the history of Scotland and am moving onto a PHD this October. I love being able to combine my two passions in one degree. I try to explain it as anthropology giving an understanding of the present and history of the past. The marriage of the two academic subjects is interesting, indeed. For example, for my dissertation in the School of Anthropology looks at the community in Glasgow in 1592; tracking the influence of the Reformation at a local freedom. School exams definitely prepare you well for university expectations! There were some things that stood out for me at school as helping. I think you have to look after yourself as well as sticking to a study plan, definitely schedule breaks as well as something nice every now and again. I also think essay plans are key for the arts and english examinations and that is something I would be keen to help students create. Ultimately you need to understand the content, not merely recite a list of facts, once you do it is far easier to remember and argue your point in an exam.

I’m Nabeel, a highly motivated and hard-working individual currently studying Medicine at the University of Manchester. Throughout my 2 years experience as a tutor, and in other employed and voluntary roles, I have strengthened my skills by working and communicating with children and adults from all walks of life. During my A Level studies, I obtained 3 A*s in Biology, Maths and Chemistry. It would be a pleasure to pass on both my knowledge and work ethic to my students, enabling them to achieve their full potential. I also spent time using statistical techniques to conduct impact analysis at the University of Bath, where I was a PhD research student. In terms of tutoring, I have taught Further Maths A-level to a group of first year undergraduates and Further Maths GCSE to year 11 students. On top of this, I’ve had a number of online and face-to-face students, across a range of qualifications and exam boards. I love watching the lightbulb spark in my students and confidence blossom over time, allowing them to achieve their full potential. I am a recent graduate with a masters degree in physics from the University of Manchester, currently working as a theoretical physics researcher. I also have experience giving one on one classes to an A level physics student in London. I have always loved maths and physics and feel as though the key is to find the way of understanding the subject that works for you, and this is my approach to tutoring. I am also a big lover of music and food and spend a lot of my free time cooking and eating. I obtained A*s at A-level in physics, maths and spanish and went on to study an MPhys in physics at the University of Manchester, specialising in theoretical physics, from which I graduated with a first class degree. Whilst studying physics I continued learning languages at university taking 1 year of spanish and 2 years of russian. Since graduating I have been working as a junior researcher in the Department of Theoretical Physics at the University of Zaragoza in Spain performing research into the possible detection of dark matter candidate particles.
