I am excited to teach you biology. The subject of biology is very interesting and arguably the most influential subject you will study. I have taught biology for around 6 years, and I am looking forward to making biology engaging and fun for you. My teaching styles include explaining topics as well as demonstrating concepts through visuals (images). When I write on my iPad, I share the screen with the students so they can see what I am writing and get a better understanding of the concepts. As well as traveling to twelve countries, I lived and studied in Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Malaysia, Poland and Italy. Also, I love extreme sports like Bungee jumping and cliff diving. I also enjoy aerial photography as well. New tutor

Hi, I’m James Farrow and I am 18 and studying at LSE. My course is pretentiously named International Social and Public Policy with Politics and it encapsulates my adoration for all things maths, politics and economics and I would love the opportunity to pass on my interests to others. I tutor GCSE Maths and A-level Politics Exam board experience: Edexcel and AQA I have experience tutoring KS3 and sixth-form (11-18) My main aims as a tutor are to engage students with content that challenges them in a rewarding way, but also connect them to content that facilitates a change in their mindset. My hobbies range from poker and chess to schooling my friends at the pool table. They would say I’m competitive but that’s an advantage as it means I strive for greatness and even I fail the process and its lessons are invaluable. To grow academically requires set-backs and knowing how to respond appropriately is vital. That along with a quality education is what I am to instil in your student. New tutor

Foundation Doctor recently graduated at Lancaster University Well-versed in engaging with teens and children through work experience in primary schools and volunteer work. Attained in GCSEs: As in Maths, Further Maths, Biology and Chemistry Attained in A levels: A in Maths, A in Chemistry, A in Biology I aim to be engaging and relatable for all types of students as I understand the challenges of achieving top grades in today's current school system. I believe anyone can improve their grades with the right support and I aim to provide this in full. I am a UK-trained foundation year doctor with a strong academic foundation and proven ability to teach, explain, and mentor at multiple levels, having been a tutor for 6 years and a tutee since I was 9. I achieved 2A*s and 1 A at A-level in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics, alongside9 A*s and 1 A at GCSE, reflecting consistent academic excellence and good understanding of core scientific concepts. This rigorous background allows me to break down complex ideas into clear, logical steps that are accessible to students. Through medical school and frontline NHS work, I have developed a practical, results-focused teaching style grounded in real understanding rather than rote learning. Daily clinical practice requires me to explain diagnoses, physiology, and management plans clearly to patients, nurses, and junior colleagues under time pressure—skills that translate directly into effective tutoring. I am particularly strong at identifying knowledge gaps, building confidence, and tailoring explanations to a student’s learning style. My approach emphasises clarity, exam relevance, and deep conceptual understanding, helping students not only achieve top grades but genuinely understand the material.

New tutor

I am very enthusiastic about Maths and the Sciences. Having just finished my A Levels studying Biology, Physics, and Mathematics at A Level; I understand the challenges students face when learning these subjects and enjoy helping others build confidence and improve their understanding. I aim to make learning engaging and accessible for every student. I recently completed my A Levels at Queen Anne's School, Reading, where I studied Biology, Physics, and Mathematics. I've had a strong interest in science, sport and problem-solving since I started secondary school, which has inspired me to pursue a degree in Sports and Exercise Science at university. Prior to that, I completed my GCSEs at King's Academy Prospect, Reading, achieving good results across all subjects, including Maths and the Sciences. During school, I enjoyed helping classmates with revision, which sparked my interest in tutoring. My recent experience with the current curriculum gives me insight into how students can succeed both academically and confidently

New tutor

I am a first class Mathematics graduate with a PhD in Mathematics (Thesis title: Conditioning of the weak-constraint variational data assimilation problem for numerical weather prediction.). I have over 18 years of tuition and mentoring experience with mainly GCSE, A-level and University level students. I have 14 years experience as a Scientist. I've contributed to many interesting projects including; Predicting Solar winds via coronal mass ejections from the Sun for space weather, Modeling Martian dust storms for Mars Missions for the European Space Agency, European Uncertainty Quantification systems for Meteo-France, and hi-resolution (100metres) Numerical Weather Prediction Models for the Royal Netherlands Met Institute. I take a small number of select students each year, and close my doors once I have this number (no more than 4 usually). I have 18+ years of experience tutoring and mentoring young adults and children ranging from 7-30 years old as a side venture while undertaking research projects simply because I love teaching! I am grateful for the privilege to contribute to the young minds of the future who have a thirst for knowledge. I have taught across all exam boards in the UK for A levels and GCSE students over the years, including AQA. Edexcel, OCR MEI, WJEC/EDUQAS. The levels I have taught range from 11+ (11 plus) candidates, those preparing for Maths challenges (all UKMTs, ie. Olympiad, IMC etc), GCSE, Cambridge STEP, A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics, and BSc. In addition to private tuition, I have also taught BSc students for 4 years while at University in lecture-supplementary class groups. The modules I am well versed are as follows: Theory of Data Assimilation Numerical Analysis Finite Difference Techniques (particularly for Meteorological weather models, Oceans, etc) Partial and Ordinary Differential Equations Bayesian Theory and Statistics Initial and Boundary Value Problems Vector Calculus Theory of Quantum Mechanics I provoke excellence and tap into the strengths of my students by challenging them and allowing them to naturally evolve in a way best suited to their psychological architecture. I also have a track record of guiding people along their natural grain, pushing them towards their natural strengths. I make an effort to make my lessons not only fun, but relatable to the real world where possible. I create an interactive environment to keep them involved and make them feel that they are learning it themselves with me gently guiding their path. I have a Mathematics PhD, specialising in the technique used to predict the weather, known as Data Assimilation. I am an applied Mathematician. Data assimilation estimates the state of a system, given the observations and our uncertainties in data. I trained as a Mathematician prior to my PhD. I worked for 3 years in industry and realised that I wasn't being challenged, leading me back to do the PhD. I've always enjoyed teaching, ensuring that I kept teaching kids and young adults (A level) from the days I was an undergraduate on my weekends and wherever I could find time.

Rebecca C.

New tutor

My name is Rebecca and I am from South Wales, United Kingdom. I have experienced living in different places around the UK and I lived in London for several years, which was an amazing experience to meet people from international countries and learn many things about their culture and interests too. I enjoy cooking at home, as formally I have trained on the job as a professional chef, mainly in seafood/fish restaurants and Japanese cuisine. Also, I like going for a walk down the coastline and taking in the scenic views, photography and sometimes video gaming when the time arises. For over a year, I have been teaching English online as a second language to Taiwanese and Chinese students, both juniors and adults. Which became an interest whilst I was teaching sushi classes in London. I decided to advance onto teaching specifically English and conversational topics chosen by students, to further improve their overall English language. From education I gained a TEFL level 5 teaching qualification and a BSc (Hons) in Food and Consumer Management from Birmingham University. Which focused on live industry projects within the FMCG sector, nutrition and the business elements within the food industry. I enjoy cooking at home, particularly Japanese cuisine and seafood dishes that I learnt previously as a professional chef.
