I am extremely passionate about Mathematics leading me to continue studying it to a higher level at university, alongside Economics. Having passed the 11+ and gotten into The Henrietta Barnett School, as well as having achieved a grade 9 at GCSE level, I have been in the shoes of all of my students. Therefore, I am able to understand the discipline required to achieve such outcomes and am willing to tailor my teaching style to benefit each individual. Some of my hobbies include cycling, swimming, reading and sudoku! I am currently in my first year of completing a BSc in Mathematics and Economics at the University of Nottingham. For secondary school and sixth form I attended The Henrietta Barnett School, where I achieved a grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics. I completed the 11+ in 2018, where I sat exams for CEM, CSSE and HBS, passing all of them.

Hi! I’m Surabhi - I love helping students not just understand their subjects, but actually enjoy learning. I focus on building confidence, finding the right approach for each person, and making lessons engaging and interactive. I’m patient, approachable, and always happy to answer questions, no matter how small or silly they may sound :) Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, art and dance! All of which helps me bring a bit of creativity into our sessions. Over the course of my education, I have developed strong knowledge in Economics but even more in English Literature - a subject I am highly passionate about, alongside effective study strategies that I now enjoy sharing with others. I have experience supporting peers through informal tutoring and study groups, helping them build confidence.

I've always enjoyed maths, which inspired me to pursue a degree in Economics and Finance. I adore the logical reasoning underlying these courses and enjoy applying them to real-world situations, particularly in physics. My teaching technique is based on recognising each student's unique needs and learning style, which helps to make the content more relatable and interesting. By rigorously adhering to the specification and marking schemes, I ensure that students understand exactly what is required to succeed. Hello, my name is Aasim. I am currently a medical student aspiring to one day become an orthopaedic surgeon. I went to secondary school and sixth form in London , after which I took a gap year and started Medicine at university afterwards. During my gap year I spent time working as an HCA at the Royal London Hospital as well as tutoring some of my family friends' children for chemistry and maths. I also spent a fair amount of time pursuing my own hobbies and interests such as drawing, reading, MMA and football which I try to play once a week with my friends. I like to incorporate visual aids in my lessons as I, myself, am a very visual learner. I also like to maintain a light-hearted environment when teaching my students, often employing humour during my lessons as I feel that it can make the student more relaxed and enables them to learn and absorb concepts in a stress-free environment. After covering a particular topic, I often go through questions together with students so that they can apply their knowledge in a practical setting which is what they will have to do in their exams after all.
