New tutor
Hello! My name is Aminah, and I’m an Accounting and Finance student at Aston University with a strong academic background in Maths and a passion for helping students feel more confident and capable in the subject. I understand that every student has a different learning style, which is why I adapt my teaching methods to suit their individual needs. Whether you’re struggling with basic concepts or aiming for top grades, I create lessons that are structured, supportive, and easy to follow — always encouraging questions and active participation. My approach is patient, calm, and clear. I break down topics step by step and use real-life examples to help ideas stick. I want my students to not only improve academically but to build long-term confidence in their abilities. Outside of tutoring, I love baking, reading, and solving puzzles — hobbies that help me stay creative and detail-oriented, which also influences how I teach. I believe learning should be enjoyable and engaging, and I strive to bring that into every session. If you’re looking for a tutor who’s approachable, committed, and ready to help you grow in Maths, I’d be excited to work with you! I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance at Aston University. This course has deepened my understanding of numbers, logical thinking, and problem-solving—skills that are essential in both mathematics and tutoring. Before university, I completed my GCSEs and A Levels at King Edward VI Lordswood School for Girls. At GCSE level, I achieved a grade 8 in Mathematics, which I’m especially proud of. Having recently gone through the exam process myself, I understand the challenges that KS1 to GCSE students face, and I’m well-equipped to guide them with effective study techniques, structured support, and encouragement. My academic journey has given me a strong foundation in maths and a clear sense of how to explain concepts in a way that is simple, engaging, and tailored to each student’s learning style. I’m passionate about helping students gain confidence, tackle difficult topics, and achieve their full potential.

Hi, I’m Safoora, currently a second-year medical student with a strong passion for education across a range of subjects. Medicine has taught me not just the importance of hard work, but also how to communicate complex ideas clearly and patiently — skills I bring into my tutoring sessions. I tutor GCSE Biology, chemistry, combined science and psychology, as well as KS3 and KS2 Science. I understand that subjects like biology and chemistry can sometimes feel overwhelming, so I focus on breaking down difficult concepts into manageable, straightforward steps tailored to how each student learns best. I’m genuinely passionate about helping students build confidence and develop a deeper understanding so they’re fully prepared to tackle any challenges they face in exams. I believe learning should be interactive, engaging, and relevant, so I work to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Whether it’s helping with exam preparation or simply tackling tricky topics, my aim is to support students in developing critical thinking skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom. Outside of my studies, I enjoy reading and keeping fit, which help me maintain balance and stay motivated. I’m excited to share my enthusiasm for learning and help you achieve your goals — whether that’s improving your grades, boosting your confidence, or just enjoying the learning process more! I received my early education at three primary institutions: Arboretum Primary School, St. James Primary School, and Hardwick Primary School. I pursued my GCSEs at Landau Forte College, followed by A-levels at Littleover Community School. I am presently a second-year medical student at the University of Nottingham.

Currently studying Law at the University of Leeds, where I am developing strong analytical and communication skills. Hi, I'm Evie, a physics undergraduate with experience tutoring secondary school. I focus on helping students build a solid understanding of core physics topics like mechanics, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics. My approach is structured but flexible—whether you need help preparing for exams, working through assignments, or clarifying tough concepts, I tailor sessions to your learning style and goals. My goal is to make physics and maths more approachable and help you gain confidence in solving problems independently. I went to secondary school in the UK, where I achieved nine grade 9s at GCSE, demonstrating strong academic performance across a range of subjects. At A-level, I earned three A grades, including in Physics and Maths, which reflect both my interest in the sciences and my ability to handle complex, analytical material. These experiences laid a strong foundation for my current studies at the University of Edinburgh, where I’m pursuing a degree in Physics. Through my own academic journey, I’ve developed effective study techniques, a deep understanding of core physics principles, and a practical approach to problem-solving — all of which I now apply in tutoring. I enjoy helping students build their confidence, strengthen their understanding, and achieve their academic goals in physics.

My name is Monica and I have just graduated from St. Andrews with an MA in history and social anthropology. I always loved history and indeed still do. I choose to study anthropology because my English teacher got rather annoyed at my consistent questions about the characters' lives. "Just go study anthropology then" - and that is what I did. I am have graduated with a further masters with distinction in the history of Scotland and am moving onto a PHD this October. I love being able to combine my two passions in one degree. I try to explain it as anthropology giving an understanding of the present and history of the past. The marriage of the two academic subjects is interesting, indeed. For example, for my dissertation in the School of Anthropology looks at the community in Glasgow in 1592; tracking the influence of the Reformation at a local freedom. School exams definitely prepare you well for university expectations! There were some things that stood out for me at school as helping. I think you have to look after yourself as well as sticking to a study plan, definitely schedule breaks as well as something nice every now and again. I also think essay plans are key for the arts and english examinations and that is something I would be keen to help students create. Ultimately you need to understand the content, not merely recite a list of facts, once you do it is far easier to remember and argue your point in an exam.
