**SSH** Hi, I'm Sophie (she/her) ! I just graduated from a degree in English Literature, French and Dutch at the University of Sheffield with First Class Honours, and am currently training to be a speech and language therapist. I can't wait to share my passion for books, languages and everything in between! I have been tutoring for 4 years and am offering tutoring in English, French and History to A level. I finished my A Levels in summer 2021 so I completely understand not only the current exam system and latest revision techniques, but also how stressful school life can be, both inside and out of the classroom. My goal in becoming a tutor is to do my best to help you achieve your personal goals, whether you're aiming to simply pass a class or achieve the highest grade possible. Our sessions will be focussed around how to achieve your best- everyone's 'best' is different, but yours is what matters to me. Outside of studying, I am usually found relaxing and having a giggle with my friends, curled up with a good book (my favourites are usually fantasy or romances) and a cup of coffee, or dancing! I've also been vegan for six years and a huge animal lover. MSc Speech and Language Therapy (September 2025- June 2027) First Class Degree in English Literature and Modern Languages and Cultures (French and Dutch) (September 2021- June 2025) A Levels (achieved May 2021) A*: English Literature (AQA), French (AQA), History (Edexcel) A: Extended Project [English Language focus] GCSEs (achieved June 2019) 9: French (AQA), Combined Science 8: History (Edexcel), Religious Studies, Latin, English Language 7: English Literature (AQA), Mathematics

With a background in health, data analysis, and sciences, I focus on making learning clear, engaging, and enjoyable. I adapt my lessons to each student’s pace and style, so you can improve step by step and succeed in exams or school projects. Hi there! My name is Kevin and I am an English and Irish teacher who recently moved to London to pursue an MA in Theatre Directing. I have been teaching several students both subjects over the past 2 years to great success. I have experience teaching English and Irish to all levels, History to GCSE standard and Performing Arts up to third level. I love seeing students find a passion for a subject they have written off as being too difficult or obscure. I am approachable, friendly and love the subjects I teach. I usually get students to teach the subjects to me to see if they truly understand what we have covered. I am also a big nerd with a love for all things fantasy, literature and animation! I have a 2.1 Masters in Education and currently on a 1.1 average on MA in Theatre Directing. I also have a BA in English and Irish with Performing Arts Studies. I also have a grade 8 RIAM qualification in Piano and am extremely passionate about music.

I am currently training to become an English teacher, having gained extensive experience working with pupils with a wide range of needs—including SEN, EAL, and behavioural challenges—through previous roles as a tutor and SEN Teaching Assistant. I believe that every student has the right to a high-challenge education, regardless of their current attainment and specific learning needs. Reading and analysing literature helps us understand how stories capture the beauty and pain of human experience, a skill which every child should have the opportunity to develop. I was awarded a Distinction from University College London, where I completed a Master’s in Comparative Literature with a focus on Modernism and the Philosophy of Language. Prior to that, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in English, after which I worked as a Research Assistant and led a seminar on literature and philosophy.

I was born in Norwich, England and completed my schooling in South Africa. I have a passion for teaching and I believe that we are capable of learning so much more when we are enjoying ourselves. I have a clear and easily understood accent and I cannot wait to meet you in the classroom where pronunciation, good grades and fun are the name of the game. I enjoy helping children overcome difficulties with speech and interpretation of the English language. I am qualified to teach English children(TEFL) and adults (CELTA). I have completed more than 7,000 practical lessons or 2,500 hours of teaching students online. I have 5 years worth of informal face-to-face teaching in a SundaySchool classroom. I have 20 years worth of experience training adults in the telecommunications sector. I successfully completed my first year of teachers training in 1979 and had to stop due to ill health.
