Hi, I am a first year law student at the University of Warwick. I have a strong passion for humans which led me to pursue law as a degree. I thoroughly enjoyed studying psychology during A Levels and have developed a deep passion for the subject. As a result, I want to share that passion with other students and help them achieve their academic goals I tailor each lesson for my students to ensure they learn in a proactive way to retain the knowledge. GCSE - English Literature/Language A Level - English Literature/Philosophy My name is Jyotsna and my interests are in philosophy, reading and writing, hence why I want to teach the lot! My teaching style is mostly discussion-based - almost like Socratic questioning. I believe this helps ideas and concepts stay in your mind for longer, as the student is the one that has to do the intellectual heavy lifting. I have just started the first year of my philosophy degree at the University of Durham, after having completed English Literature and Philosophy A-Level. After 20 years of secondary school classroom teaching in English and History, I am branching out into online teaching. I taught in London, at Walthamstow for my probationary year in 1991, and have since taught in South Africa, in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. I run Parkrun, grow and sell organic vegetables, and enjoy wilderness walking. After A Bachelor of Arts in History and English, at Wits University in Johannesburg in 1984, I did a postgraduate Higher Diploma in Education, in English and History. I then taught in London and South Africa for nine years, during which time I qualified with a Bachelor of Education in Applied Linguistics, from Wits University. In 1998, my family and I went to Vancouver, British Columbia, for me to study a Masters Degree in Theology. We returned to SA in 2002. In 2016, I graduated with a PhD in History, at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. I am currently enrolled for my TTA TEFL certificate, Level 5, to qualify and teach EFL, from April 2025.
