I have been teaching English online for over three-years now. This has included English as a foreign language and GCSE/ A level English literature and language. I graduated last year with a first-class degree in English literature and Language in Cardiff University and received a scholarship in my second year for being the best performing pupil in my cohort. English teaching has long been a passion of mine and my role has evolved to encompass academic writing support, something that I feel should be taught in school and is sought after by examiners across all exam boards. My students always achieve their goals through hard work, regular tutoring and lots of writing practice! I am currently a part-time Master's student of a TESOL and Education programme in Cardiff and my intention is to lecture this subject in the near future after my PHD. Alongside my own studying, I volunteer at an asylum-seeker charity 4 hours a week teaching adults basic skills such as digital literacy, English communication and life skills. I am also responsible for about 4 young learners who I have taught consistently over the last three-years. Please read some of my lovely pupils' comments about their online tutoring experience with me below: -

I've worked with kids from a variety of backgrounds for a number of years, creating interesting lesson plans, breaking down difficult ideas, and offering individualized advice to help students gain confidence and meet their academic objectives. My approach to teaching is methodical, patient, and student-centered. Since every student is different, I modify my methods to fit each person's learning preferences and skill level. In addition to academic guidance, I place a major emphasis on motivation, clear communication, and effective study habits. I have completed an MBA in Banking and Finance from the University of the West of Scotland, building strong analytical, financial, and academic skills. I also hold a Bachelor of Management Studies, which provided a solid foundation in business, communication, and organisational principles. I am a 22 year old who puts her heart and soul into her passion, which is teaching. I absolutely love people, interacting and getting to know people. I love being creative, whether it be planning my next lesson for a class or molding something with clay, I am always busy! I am a good balance between introverted and extroverted because I do treasure my alone time for some self care masks and watching a comfort movie. I love reading and spending time with friends and family. I always believe in staying kind because you never know what someone else is going through at home. I love sushi as well! It has most probably always been my favourite food! I am a fourth year student studying Foundation Phase education at Stellenbosch University. I have completed a 360 hour TEFL course, exemplifying my love for the English language. As a specialized Foundation Phase educator, I firmly believe that the knowledge I have gathered will help build strong foundations for my students in their journey to English success. I have a good practical experience and am able to adapt different teaching styles to best suit a students needs. Learning concretely and using movement while learning, although it will be through a screen, makes learning more engaging and a fun way to gain knowledge!

Hi! I’m Gracy, a third-year Law student at the University of Warwick! I’ve been tutoring for over six years and love helping students build confidence, deepen their understanding, and reach their academic goals- whether that’s preparing for exams or simply feeling more comfortable with a subject. I tutor a range of subjects including English, Maths, and 11+ preparation, and I always tailor my approach to suit each student’s learning style and exam board. I’m passionate about seeing students thrive and grow in their abilities, and I genuinely enjoy supporting them throughout their academic journey. Creating a positive, encouraging learning environment is at the heart of everything I do. I attended City of London School for Girls for both Secondary School and Sixth Form, where I achieved strong academic results, including grades 9- 7 at GCSE, with a 9 in Maths, 9 in English Language, and an 8 in English Literature. I also achieved three A* grades at A Level in English Literature, Religious Studies, and Product Design. Having successfully gone through the 11+ process to gain entry to this highly selective school, I have first-hand experience of competitive academic pathways. I am currently studying Law at the University of Warwick, where I am predicted to achieve a 2:1. This academic background allows me to support students with both subject knowledge and effective study and exam techniques.

My name is Rebecca and I am from South Wales, United Kingdom. I have experienced living in different places around the UK and I lived in London for several years, which was an amazing experience to meet people from international countries and learn many things about their culture and interests too. I enjoy cooking at home, as formally I have trained on the job as a professional chef, mainly in seafood/fish restaurants and Japanese cuisine. Also, I like going for a walk down the coastline and taking in the scenic views, photography and sometimes video gaming when the time arises. For over a year, I have been teaching English online as a second language to Taiwanese and Chinese students, both juniors and adults. Which became an interest whilst I was teaching sushi classes in London. I decided to advance onto teaching specifically English and conversational topics chosen by students, to further improve their overall English language. From education I gained a TEFL level 5 teaching qualification and a BSc (Hons) in Food and Consumer Management from Birmingham University. Which focused on live industry projects within the FMCG sector, nutrition and the business elements within the food industry. I enjoy cooking at home, particularly Japanese cuisine and seafood dishes that I learnt previously as a professional chef.
