Hello, my name is Aasim. I am currently a 5th year medical student aspiring to one day become an orthopaedic surgeon. I went to secondary school and sixth form in London , after which I took a gap year and started Medicine at university afterwards. During my gap year I spent time working as an HCA at the Royal London Hospital as well as tutoring some of my family friends' children for chemistry and maths. I also spent a fair amount of time pursuing my own hobbies and interests such as drawing, reading and football which I try to play once a week with my friends. I like to incorporate visual aids in my lessons as I, myself, am a very visual learner. I also like to maintain a light-hearted environment when teaching my students, often employing humour during my lessons as I feel that it can make the student more relaxed and enables them to learn and absorb concepts in a stress-free environment. I have been a tutor since early 2020, when I started this career choice alongside working in the NHS as a mature student nurse at the University of Sheffield. I later went on to make this my full-time career, and in this time have worked with over 300 students, both long term and short term, of all different ages. I have worked both through agencies, and privately, with most of my students being referred through word of mouth. I work primarily with children in Year 5 and 6 in maths, and also children who are preparing for their Grammar School 11+ exam. However, I cover maths, English and science up to Year 8 level, 11+ exam preparation, English as a second language (for adults and children), and home schooling for primary school children. I am a member of MENSA, and I have achieved this because I work very routinely and am able to break things down into step-by-step techniques. These techniques are passed on through my tutoring, especially in maths, and I have had great feedback and results from this. I am very passionate about my career, as I love to educate others, and I believe it is so important to be a good role model and inspiration to young people, to drive them towards wanting to achieving their goals in life. I'm Klersa, I am studying Neuroscience at the University of Edinburgh. I studied biology, chemistry and physics at A level and I obtained A*AA. I enjoy tutoring and helping students improve their understanding of the subjects they struggle with, by personalising my teaching method to their needs. I am an English Literature graduate from the University of Birmingham, who is currently studying a Masters degree in Philosophy. I really enjoy English and Philosophy as they can be a really fun subjects to learn as well as teach. I’m Luci, a recent maths graduate from the University of Oxford. I’ve been tutoring all ages and abilities for over five years, ranging from helping secondary school students to adjust to their pre-GCSE workload, to A level, admissions tests and interview practice for 16 to 18 year olds. I tutor primary school, GCSE and A Level maths. I have experience with children hoping to increase their grade to a high pass, but have also worked on summer schools with students aiming to achieve top A level grades and study maths degrees at prestigious universities. After working as a teacher in Spain on a two month summer school, I really hope to work as a maths teacher abroad in the future! I’m an enthusiastic and approachable tutor with a passion for learning. I am an engineering university student with a diverse educational background from different countries. Owing to my diverse experience, I am able to teach using varied curricula, adopt different systems, and incorporate appropriate approaches to meet the needs of the students. I am still a student, so I have first-hand experience with what students require from a student's perspective. Although I have around 3 years of experience working as a part-time tutor, both online and physical,  I have been tutoring as a volunteer for about 8 years now.  I have worked with students from different parts of the world of all levels and ages. Aside from teaching as a career, I am passionate about it because I aspire that "learning should be fun." I teach because I love it, because I enjoy it, and because I want to help the student improve in the most amusing way possible. As the saying goes "if you do what you love, you will do it with passion," and I am here to help the students realize that they love learning. I began my lower-level studies in Tanzania (my home country), where I picked up the British educational system. I later received a scholarship to study abroad as an exchange student, moved to the US to complete part of my high school there, and then returned to Tanzania to finish my A-levels. At this point, starting with the modest volunteer programs I was taking part in in Tanzania, this is when I first learned about teaching. I was awarded another scholarship to Turkey to start my bachelor's in engineering. And this is when I started teaching as a part-time profession, taking it to the next level. I currently live in Lithuania as an Erasmus student and am constantly exploring new adventures and experiences as a teacher through different youth programs and volunteer camps.
