My motivation to pursue a career in education began in 2016 when I volunteered for two months in Accra, Ghana, teaching English and introducing organised sports in a secondary school. My passion for Biology and conservation studies has heightened my awareness of the crucial need to protect our environment. As a secondary school pupil myself I achieved excellent results, obtaining 12 GCSES all graded A or A*, including Maths & English, with A*'s in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. At A-level I then went on to study Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, Religious Education and also achieved an AS level qualification in Critical thinking. Following this, I attended the University of Bristol, a Russel Group university which is renowned for its world-leading research and academic excellence. Here, I achieved my undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences. Following this, I began working towards achieving qualified teacher status and took my first post as a teacher of Science at a secondary school in 2020. I attended the university of Buckingham and completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Education with a focus on Science in order to become a qualified teacher. Through my university studies, I have not only gained expert science subject knowledge but I also have an excellent understanding of the latest teaching methods to help facilitate learning and, ultimately, help pupils achieve their goals. Further to this I also have other experience in coaching and mentoring roles. In 2016, I volunteered for 6 weeks in a primary school in Accra, Ghana.
