Hi, I'm Savannah Stanislaus, I'm 23 years old and I am a recent graduate from the University of Oxford with a BA in German. Over the years, I've tutored a variety of subjects in both individual and group settings, including English at GCSE and A Level, as well as a foreign language, German as a foreign language and A level, Debating and Philosophy A level. My approach to tutoring is one that is personal and based on the individual's goals and learning style, but generally I like to frame the content in a way that feels relatable to what the individual may already be aware of and build from there. Many of my former students have wanted to focus on exams, so I've mastered the ability to interpret exam questions and mark schemes and then frame the demands in a way that is accessible to the student. I have a BA in German from the University of Oxford. My degree was broad and focused not only on the German Language but also on Literature through time, history, medieval German Language, extensive translation, Linguistics, culture and politics in the German-speaking world. My main interests lie in Literature, Linguistics and Philosophy. My dissertation received a first class grade and was Philosophy-based with the title 'Is Ludwig Wittgenstein's distinction between 'Knowledge' and 'Certainty' as a critique of G. E. Moore and the field of philosophical scepticism, worthwhile?’

I’m a dedicated 5th-year medical student with a passion for learning and growth. Beyond my studies, I find joy in playing badminton and dancing, which keep me energized and balanced. Since 2018, I’ve been tutoring students across various levels, sharing my knowledge and helping them achieve their academic goals. With years of experience and a knack for connecting with others, I thrive on making learning engaging and impactful. I have a strong academic foundation that has shaped my journey as a medical student and tutor. My educational path began with achieving GCSE qualifications in a diverse range of subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, Psychology, Philosophy and Ethics, and Spanish. This broad base allowed me to explore various disciplines and develop critical thinking skills early on. Building on this, I pursued A-levels in Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry, focusing on subjects that align with my passion for science and healthcare. These studies provided me with a deeper understanding of complex concepts and prepared me for the rigorous demands of medical school. Currently, I am in my fifth year at the Medical University of Varna, where I am honing my skills and knowledge to become a competent and compassionate healthcare professional. My specializations include core medical sciences, clinical pharmacology, pediatrics, dermatology, and several other key areas of medicine. Alongside my studies, I have been tutoring since 2018, leveraging my expertise to help students excel in subjects such as Maths, Biology, and Chemistry, as well as 11+ and SATs preparation. About Me: Hi, I'm Evie, I have worked as an assistant and supply teacher for children of all ages, though I prefer to teach primary and secondary aged children. I'm a very relaxed person and am happy to adjust my teaching to the way each student works best. In my spare time I enjoy physical hands on hobbies, like baking, playing the keyboard, cross-stitch and dance. What I teach: Lower Level: Science, Geography and History GCSE: Biology, Geography and History A-Level (IB): Biology & History Exam Board experience: - Edexcel - AQA - OCR I have A levels in Biology(B), Tudor History(B)and Geology(A), and I will be attending The university of Leeds in September for Environmental Sciences. I am on the younger side, so I'm very familiar with the current expectations on students taking GCSE's and A levels, as well as the resources they have available. Something I think is essential to being able to connect with and teach the current curriculum to students.

I'm currently studying Theoretical Physics at the University of Manchester. I enjoy working through tough problems and finding satisfying solutions. I hope to encourage more students into a Mathematics or Physics career by helping them discover the beauty of the subjects. Tutoring subjects: GCSE: Maths, Physics ALevel: Maths, Further Maths, Physics Currently a second year at the University of Manchester doing Theoretical Physics. I tutored Year 10 maths in person for a year, and currently help out first years at university with any physics problems they might have. My main method of teaching is first introducing a concept, and practicing questions to consolidate understanding. I make use of analogies as they help students grasp a concept by linking it to something they are already familiar with, and love to challenge them by going slightly beyond what is strictly required by their curriculum, once they are comfortable.

I took up GoStudent for my son as was thrown into learning Irish after we moved at the age of 11. He was so upset at not understanding what was going on in class, he had missed all the basics, and his class was so far ahead of him that he used to come home in tears. The setup was easy, the tutor is extremely nice and within 4 months I have seen an incredibly marked improvement, not only in his work but also his confidence in tackling it. He now can complete his homework on his own which is important as I don't speak any Gaelic myself. I think online tutoring is also extremely time efficient, not only for me but for the tutors who dont have to factor travel into their prices or time. GoStudent isnt just value for money.... it it in fact... priceless!

What is Key Stage 1?
Key Stage 1 (KS1) is the name given to Year 1 and Year 2 at primary schools, when pupils are aged between 5 and 7. It sets out which subjects must be taught as part of the national curriculum, which is followed by state schools.
Your child may be tested on what they have learned at the end of KS1. These assessments are known as SATs (which stands for ‘Standardised Assessment Tests’). They are not pass/fail tests but simply provide an indication of your child’s progress. It is not compulsory for schools to take the SATs in KS1.
What are the main subjects studied at Key Stage 1?
The KS1 curriculum is designed to introduce children to the core subjects they will learn throughout their school career.
The subjects are:
Religious Education (RE) is also taught, but parents can choose for their children to opt out of some or all the lessons. Schools usually also teach Personal, Social and Health Dducation (PSHE), citizenship and modern foreign languages.
How is Key Stage 1 assessed?
Children undertake a phonics screening check at the end of Year 1, which evaluates their reading and pronunciation skills.
Schools who do not take the SATs will use their own assessment systems to track the progress children in their school are making.
If your school takes the SATs, the subjects are:
The focus of Key Stage 1
KS1 is where a child begins to develop their skills and understanding in the key subjects taught in the curriculum.
Speaking, reading and writing are considered core skills as mastery of the English language is central to developing an understanding in all subjects.
In KS1 maths, children to begin to understand mathematical language, understand the fundamentals and begin to solve problems by applying this knowledge.
In addition, teaching children about healthy habits and different belief systems can help them become well-rounded individuals who understand the world around them.
How to choose a Key Stage 1 tutor
Children are all different and progress at different rates. Some will need extra support in building core skills or improving confidence, and others may need more of a challenge to keep them engaged. Either way, lessons need to be personalised to meet their individual needs.
It’s also important to choose a tutor with experience in the KS1 curriculum and who understands how important it is to make learning fun.
GoStudent’s tutors are highly qualified and offer an interactive and personalised learning experience. Our online sessions can be scheduled for a time that suits you, and you will receive regular updates on your child’s progress.
Tutoring will give your child a strong foundation in the key concepts will set them up to succeed in learning, not only at KS2 but throughout their school career.
