I am an experienced educator with over fifteen years in teaching and mentoring, now specialising in English, Psychology, and Sociology up to A-level. My academic background includes a BA in Sociology, a diploma in Counselling, ACCHP accreditation, and I am currently completing a Master’s in Psychology at the University of Portsmouth. This academic journey, combined with my teaching experience, allows me to provide learners with both subject expertise and practical strategies to achieve success. In English, I focus on building strong foundations in reading, writing, and critical analysis, helping learners gain the confidence to express themselves clearly and effectively. My Sociology and Psychology teaching draws on my academic knowledge and real-world insights, making lessons engaging and relevant by connecting theory to contemporary issues and everyday life. I believe that every learner has unique strengths, and I adapt my teaching style to meet individual needs. My counselling background helps me create a supportive environment where learners feel comfortable to ask questions, take risks, and develop resilience. Organised, approachable, and enthusiastic, I encourage students not only to meet their academic goals but also to grow in confidence and independent thinking. Above all, I am committed to inspiring curiosity, developing critical skills, and empowering learners to reach their full potential in their chosen subjects. My academic background reflects both a strong commitment to education and a passion for understanding people, society, and the human mind. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Education from Griffith University, Australia, where I developed a foundation in social theory, educational practice, and the ways in which learning is shaped by cultural and societal factors. This degree gave me valuable insights into both the structures of society and the transformative power of education. Building on this, I undertook a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling, which allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of human behaviour, communication, and emotional wellbeing. This qualification provided practical tools for supporting individuals and groups, strengthening my ability to create learning environments that are empathetic, inclusive, and responsive to different needs. Currently, I am completing a Master’s in Psychology at the University of Portsmouth, with only the final stage remaining. This advanced study has deepened my knowledge of psychological theory, research, and application. It has also enhanced my analytical and critical thinking skills, and further developed my ability to connect theory with practice. Studying at postgraduate level has reinforced my commitment to lifelong learning and prepared me to bring a high level of academic and practical expertise into my teaching. Taken together, these qualifications demonstrate not only my academic achievement but also my dedication to education, psychology, and counselling—fields that all intersect in my work as an educator and tutor.

I am a medical student at UCL with a strong academic background, having achieved A* grades at A-level in Maths, Biology, and Chemistry. I have a genuine passion for teaching and enjoy helping students understand challenging concepts in a clear and structured way. Having recently completed GCSEs and A-levels myself, I understand current exam specifications, common pitfalls, and effective revision strategies. My teaching style is supportive and tailored to each student’s needs, focusing on building strong foundations, confidence, and exam technique. I aim not only to help students improve their grades, but also to develop their independence, motivation, and long-term love for learning. I am currently studying Medicine at University College London (UCL), a highly academic and research-led medical school. I attended Lancaster Girls’ Grammar School, where I developed a strong academic foundation and a disciplined approach to learning. Throughout my education, I consistently achieved high academic standards, particularly in Maths and the sciences. At A-level, I achieved 3A*, reflecting both my subject knowledge and my ability to manage a demanding workload. I also achieved full marks in my EPQ, which strengthened my independent research, critical thinking, and academic writing skills. Hi, I’m Ade – GCSE Tutor (Maths and Science) I’m a graduate in IT Management for Business, and I offer tutoring in GCSE Maths and Science. With a strong academic background and a passion for helping others, I aim to make learning more approachable and less stressful for students. My sessions are tailored to each student’s needs—whether that’s boosting confidence, preparing for exams, or simply making tricky topics easier to understand. I focus on building a solid foundation while keeping lessons clear, engaging, and supportive. As someone who’s been through the GCSE journey myself, I know how important it is to have a tutor who’s patient, relatable, and explains things in a way that makes sense. I aim to create a comfortable space where students can ask questions freely and feel motivated to do their best. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy football, gaming, and all things tech—so I like to bring a bit of fun and real-world relevance to my sessions too. I completed my IT Management for Business degree with a 2:1 classification. The course combined maths, science, and business, giving me a strong mix of technical and practical knowledge. During my studies, I gained experience using IT systems, managing projects, analysing data, and improving business processes. I learned how technology, maths, and science can work together to help organisations make better decisions. I also took part in team projects that were based on real business situations. Some of the modules I did well in included Systems Analysis & Design, Business Intelligence, Strategic IT Management, and Quantitative Methods. These helped me improve my problem-solving and analytical skills and understand how to create solutions that meet people’s needs. My degree also improved my communication and critical thinking, which I now use to explain maths and science topics clearly when supporting students.

What is Key Stage 3?
Key Stage 3 (KS3) covers the three years of school known as Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9, when students are between 11 and 14 years of age.
It follows the national curriculum and prepares children for more advanced learning at KS4/GCSE level.
What subjects are covered in Key Stage 3?
The compulsory subjects at Key Stage 3 are:
Additional subjects include Religious Education (RE) and Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE), which includes sex education. Parents can request that their children opt out of sex education lessons and either parts of RE or all the lessons.
The focus of Key Stage 3
KS3 forms a bridge between primary school and GCSE study. It deepens knowledge and understanding in the different subjects and focuses on developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
The curriculum is designed to be broad so that students can explore their interests and abilities in a wide range of subjects. This is essential when it comes to deciding which subjects to pursue at GCSE level – a crucial decision which influences future academic and career paths.
How is KS3 assessed?
Learning is assessed in two ways: how well students are learning and remembering the curriculum and whether they are understanding what they have learned.
There are no national or external assessments at Key Stage 3. Instead, teachers carry out ongoing assessments for each pupil in each of the year groups.
How to choose a KS3 tutor
Whether your child is struggling with making the transition from primary to secondary school or having difficulties with one or more subjects in any of the years, a KS3 tutor can help them close any gaps in their understanding while helping to build confidence and motivation.
Tutoring can also help students needing an extra boost before entering the Key Stage 4 GCSE years.
It’s essential the tutor is a subject specialist and experienced in adaptive learning, which prioritises personalised learning tailored to the individual’s needs and understanding. This approach allows students to work at their own pace and truly master any problem areas before moving on.
GoStudent has a range of qualified and experienced tutors in all subjects covered in the KS3 curriculum. They can suggest effective study techniques and deepen understanding while helping create a study plan that will keep learning on track.
With the help of a tutor, your child can reach their full potential and develop love of learning that will carry them through the rest of their school years and beyond.
