Hi, my name is Katia! I am a primary school level English and Maths tutor, and I am also available to tutor for the 11 plus entry exams. I have just graduated with a first-class honours degree in English Literature with Creative Writing from Bristol University. After University, I am hoping to get my TEFL qualification in order to teach English abroad so my goal is to have a future in teaching. Hence my interest in tutoring as I love working with kids and I feel very confident with the subject matter, particularly in English as I have studied this at a higher degree and it is what I am most passionate about. I am very flexible with my availability and would love to help your child gain a better understanding of the material, and feel confident in class. Learning is an enjoyable experience and I intend to ensure that my sessions inspire my pupils to learn! I look forward to hearing from you :) I have just graduated with a first-class honours degree in English Literature with Creative Writing from Bristol University. - Biology GCSE - Maths Year 7 - 9 I am a second year undergraduate student at King's College London studying BSc Biomedical Science, and achieved AAA at A Level in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I have been a tutor & mentor all throughout school, and have tutored my younger sister throughout her GCSE Science & Maths. I've always loved Science, especially Biology, and enjoy studying it at university. I have also been a student who has taken online tutoring lessons during school, so I feel I understand well what makes an effective, helpful lesson and how to best support as a tutor. I love teaching, and like to create the most comfortable environment possible for my students - the best way to learn is through asking & answering questions. I've recieved awards for Biology & English in school, and I know the importance of mark schemes, exam specifications and how to approach questions thoroughly, with lots of advice to give from my own experience. Throughout school I have always had an interest in Biology, and achieved strong grades in Science, Maths and English. At university, my degree is highly specialised in Pharmacology and Neuroscience within Biomedical Sciences, and I am looking to build a career in the Pharmaceutical industry.

Hey! My name is Dylan Archer and I'm currently studying Economics, Finance, and Banking at the University of Portsmouth. I play goalkeeper in football and corner in American Football, both at university level with my American football career taking me to two national championships in my first year of playing. I grew up and studied in Derby and took Geography, History, and English Language at A-Level. I think the most important thing in tutoring is the atmosphere between the tutor and student, with a calm environment allowing for learning to take place and the comfort of being able to ask questions. I love studying languages too and over the summer I practiced my Urdu and Punjabi (very basic now) and I currently am studying Arabic through my university. I graduated with a First in BSc Medical Sciences Firstly, we will work out the student's weak topics using a past paper. Then, we will focus on those topics. I am good at explaining concepts in an easy-to-understand way. I use homework videos and questions to reinforce the student's knowledge. I also use end of topic tests and past papers. We will set time-specific goals, so the student has already achieved their target grade by the time their exam comes around. I know exactly what the examiners are looking for in your answers, so I will coach you on how to gain all the marks for each type of question. By the time we have spent a few months together, your understanding will have improved greatly. Last year, 3 out of 3 students met their target grades : 5 (foundation), 7, and A* (Welsh GCSE) Subjects I teach: Maths: Year 7 - 11 Chemistry: Year 7 - 11 Biology: Year 7 - 11 Exam boards: AQA OCR Edexcel (not iGCSE) GCSE - 9A* A including Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics A Levels - A* Biology, A Maths, A Chemistry AS Level - A Physics BSc Medical Science (First) Duke of Edinburgh award Young Leaders in Service Award (education, volunteering with elderly) Basic Life Support

Hi! I am a third year medical student at the University of Leeds, who is passionate about helping students succeed and enjoy the wonderful subjects of biology and psychology along the way! Having recently done my A-levels (A*A*A), I have up-to-date and effective exam technique advice to offer. I work with the student to set them realistic targets, and help them achieve the grade they aim for. I have a consistent track record for helping my students succeed and become more confident in their chosen subject. I am a third year medical student at the University of Leeds. I love stories and music. This is why I did an English and Music degree, which I really enjoyed. Reading and writing are such essential and valuable skills, so this, along with my love of stories is why I teach English. I think the Harry Potter books are fantastic. My favourite Shakespeare play is ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, as I love the magic of the forest and the fun of the character Puck. I have also studied Ancient Greek. This proved to be a fascinating language; I found it interesting to learn where so many modern words stem from. I used to run my own drama groups; I believe in the importance of self expression and the confidence that this can bring to people. I have been a tour guide, which was great fun. It was an excellent opportunity to see many interesting sites, whilst meeting many wonderful people. I have worked with a wide range of students over the years and believe in the potential of every individual. In my spare time I enjoy playing the piano. I try to write songs with my partner, who is a much better musician than me. It usually ends up with me writing the lyrics and him writing the music! I also enjoy sailing, writing stories and walking my crazy puppy; she is a mix of sheepdogs, so all she wants to do is round everyone up, including the cat! BA (Hons) Open (English and Music) First-class Honours. A-levels: English and Sociology GCSEs: English Literature and Language, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Sociology and Music. BTEC Diploma: Music and Drama Take 10 for play (play worker certificate) Current studies: The 1st year of a Maths and Physics BSc with the Open University

The boys enjoyed it but struggled after their first tutor left and lost their enthusiasm,no homework and the improvement in school is not a lot. I tried to prepare them for 11+ but they are not there at all.Communication is not great either. I later received a phone call from a lovely gentleman and all my concerns were dealt with appropriately. Thank you for listening to me ❤️
