I aim to make learning enjoyable and stress-free by breaking down complex ideas into simple, relatable concepts. My approach is patient and encouraging, aiming to help students feel comfortable and motivated to achieve their best and more while instilling confidence in their ways of thinking and problem-solving. I have completed my A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology and am now studying Biomedical Science, specialising in biology, chemistry and a certain level of maths as well. My studies emphasise critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on lab skills. Beyond academics, I have a strong background in teaching and mentoring. As a co-founder of our Sixth Form's first Medical Society, I guided my peers through everything needed to go through university applications, interviews for not only medical school but also related courses. I have continued this by mentoring first-year university students, helping them adjust to coursework and academic challenges, and personalising teaching methods for each student. My support has led to positive results, with the students excelling in assignments and finding my guidance invaluable.

I have been a tutor since early 2020, when I started this career choice alongside working in the NHS as a mature student nurse at the University of Sheffield. I later went on to make this my full-time career, and in this time have worked with over 300 students, both long term and short term, of all different ages. I have worked both through agencies, and privately, with most of my students being referred through word of mouth. I work primarily with children in Year 5 and 6 in maths, and also children who are preparing for their Grammar School 11+ exam. However, I cover maths, English and science up to Year 8 level, 11+ exam preparation, English as a second language (for adults and children), and home schooling for primary school children. I am a member of MENSA, and I have achieved this because I work very routinely and am able to break things down into step-by-step techniques. These techniques are passed on through my tutoring, especially in maths, and I have had great feedback and results from this. I am very passionate about my career, as I love to educate others, and I believe it is so important to be a good role model and inspiration to young people, to drive them towards wanting to achieving their goals in life. My background is in healthcare, where I studied at the University of Sheffield (Adult Nursing BMedSci). I have also studied Diagnostic Radiography (BSc) at Sheffield Hallam University. I’ve had many years of experience volunteering with schools helping students excel in subjects that they find difficult. I’ve always had a passion for science leading me to have a career in microbiology so I know tutoring biology would be a strong suit. Hopefully, I can encourage more students, especially young women to pursue a future in STEM. I loved maths back in school and I do find myself still doing random mathematical questions as I love the subject. I was my favourite back in school. I’m Luci, a recent maths graduate from the University of Oxford. I’ve been tutoring all ages and abilities for over five years, ranging from helping secondary school students to adjust to their pre-GCSE workload, to A level, admissions tests and interview practice for 16 to 18 year olds. I tutor primary school, GCSE and A Level maths. I have experience with children hoping to increase their grade to a high pass, but have also worked on summer schools with students aiming to achieve top A level grades and study maths degrees at prestigious universities. After working as a teacher in Spain on a two month summer school, I really hope to work as a maths teacher abroad in the future! I am an engineering university student with a diverse educational background from different countries. Owing to my diverse experience, I am able to teach using varied curricula, adopt different systems, and incorporate appropriate approaches to meet the needs of the students. I am still a student, so I have first-hand experience with what students require from a student's perspective. Although I have around 3 years of experience working as a part-time tutor, both online and physical,  I have been tutoring as a volunteer for about 8 years now.  I have worked with students from different parts of the world of all levels and ages. Aside from teaching as a career, I am passionate about it because I aspire that "learning should be fun." I teach because I love it, because I enjoy it, and because I want to help the student improve in the most amusing way possible. My name is Hayden, and I am a current student at the University of Lincoln, I am studying for a BA in Accounting and Finance. I am passionate about this subject as my 2 favourite subjects at GCSE and A-level were Maths and Economics and my course is a perfect combination of both. Problem solving is my favourite aspect of maths whereas Economics interests me as it applies problem solving to the economy and it affects everyone from governments to the consumer. My favourite hobby is travelling and experiencing different cultures. There is so much to learn and experience from visiting different countries and people. Travelling feels rewarding and expands your knowledge and appreciation. My tutor sessions will begin with a consolidating question from the previous weeks content to check that the student still understands the content. The main part of the lesson will be content and there will be integrated practice questions throughout. I will always end the lessons with a small quiz on the topic covered in the lesson. The results will determine next week’s lesson based on the students understanding. When tutoring students, I believe the most important thing is to have a creative and innovative approach to enable the students to understand and engage in the lesson. I achieved high GCSE's and A Levels in maths, and I am currently predicted a 1st class honours degree in Accounting and Finance.
