Hi! I'm Pia. The subject I teach is Mathematics at GCSE level and also GCSE Biology. I understand that maths and biology can present difficult challenges and having received tutoring for both subjects, it has really helped me to understand and enjoy the subjects a lot. I hope to be able to help other students develop their confidence and learn to enjoy maths and biology too! I completed 9 GCSEs, including an A in Maths, Biology and Chemistry and also completed my A-levels with an A in Maths and Biology and B in Chemistry. I am currently studying Biomedical Science at the University of Birmingham. Even though I am not studying a mathematical course at university, maths has always been my favourite subject through school

Hello! My name is Ruby Webb, I am turning 22 years old this year (2023), and I have just started a Masters course at the University of Manchester in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology! I have tutored primary school aged children in the past in reading comprehension, and I loved the feeling of making a difference to someone and seeing them improve. In my spare time I love to read and paint. For my A-levels I achieved the following grades: English Literature (A), Psychology (A*), and Philospohy and Ethics (A). I graduated the University of Leeds with a high 2.1 in Psychology. I appreciated how broad an Undergraduate degree in psychology was, but my favourite topics are those to do with mental health and development!

As you might have guessed, I’m passionate about animals—I have three dogs at home who I absolutely adore! One of my proudest achievements is earning my black belt in karate in 2020, a milestone I reached alongside some of my closest friends. It was a memorable and rewarding experience for all of us. I’ve also climbed the UK’s Three Peaks before turning 18, which was both physically and mentally challenging, but incredibly fulfilling. Having completed most of my A-levels through online learning during lockdown, I understand firsthand the challenges students face in remote education. This experience fuels my motivation to support students in reaching their full potential. I believe that building confidence and unlocking learning potential are key to lifelong success. I have worked with students facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, dyslexia, ADHD, and extreme shyness. I’m especially proud of the progress many of them have made—growing in confidence and communication, not just in school, but in their personal lives too. Seeing students thrive and express themselves freely is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do, and I’m committed to helping others take those same positive steps toward a brighter future.
