My name is Rob and live in Menai Bridge. I studied a degree in Physics and Maths at Newcastle Upon Tyne University. After working in industry as a geophysicist, i went to Southampton University to study a masters degree in oceanography. Then a PhD specializing in the observations and modelling of internal waves, graduating in 2001. After a number of post-doc positions involving satellite remote sensing of the oceans, my career took a different direction. Firstly, i worked for a small startup company in Edinburgh, that developed novel techniques for electromagnetic sampling at sea, with the aim to infer the presence of hydrocarbons below the seabed. After a few years, the company got bought out by a Norwegian exploration company (PGS) and i transferred to working on seismic exploration ships. I have used my physics and mathematics background extensively during my career. I now wish to pass on my understanding to help students to discover the joy of doing physics. My other passion is playing guitar and mandola in a gigging band, that we started up over the last 2 years of lockdown. We have now put together 24 original songs, enough for 2 recorded albums. We are aiming to produce at 4 track EP demo, to be recorded at a local music studio. I also enjoy walking in our local mountains and along coasts.

My experience as a tutor extends to both traditional in-person teaching and modern online platforms. Each mode of instruction has presented unique challenges and opportunities, and adapting my teaching style accordingly has been a rewarding experience. In face-to-face tutoring, I developed the ability to assess a student’s understanding in real time, adjusting my approach based on their reactions and engagement levels. This hands-on experience helped me refine my ability to explain complex ideas in simple, relatable ways, making abstract concepts in mathematics and physics more tangible. I had my IGCSE's in Egypt , then I went to a Military Engineering University where I studied Chemical Engineering , graduated in 1999 and worked in my field until 2009 when I took on teaching physics and maths in international schools until 2014 when I focused on tutoring and moved back to the UK where I opened the Digital marketing agency where I help clients build there businesses and teach their teams how to do it themselves in workshops and classes , alongside with tutoring some students in maths and physics.

My name is Azad Singh, and I hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. With a strong foundation in mathematics and science, I have been actively engaged in the field of education for the past six years. Over this time, I have gained extensive experience teaching students from GCSE, CBSE, and ICSE curricula, across various grade levels. My teaching approach is deeply rooted in clarity, conceptual understanding, and interactive engagement. I believe in simplifying complex concepts and delivering them in a relatable way that enhances students' grasp and confidence. I specialize particularly in mathematics and physics, and I focus equally on theory and problem-solving. I always ensure that students not only learn how to solve numericals but also understand the logic behind them. One of my core strengths lies in adapting my teaching methodology to suit individual student needs. Whether it’s helping a student strengthen their fundamentals or guiding a high achiever toward excellence, I bring patience, enthusiasm, and a personalized strategy to every session. I also consistently integrate visual aids, practical examples, and regular assessments to track progress and address doubts effectively. Being a Mechanical Engineering graduate, I naturally bring a practical perspective into the classroom, often connecting textbook concepts with real-life applications. This not only keeps students engaged but also helps them appreciate the relevance of what they are learning. Ultimately, my goal as a teacher is to empower students to become confident, independent learners who enjoy the process of learning and discovery. My name is Azad Singh, and I hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. My academic journey in engineering has been both enriching and transformative, laying a strong foundation in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and applied sciences. Throughout my four-year degree program, I delved deep into core subjects such as Engineering Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Strength of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, and Machine Design. These subjects not only sharpened my technical knowledge but also taught me the value of precision, discipline, and critical analysis. During my studies, I developed a strong interest in mathematics and physics, which were the backbone of many engineering concepts. My passion for these subjects led me to explore them beyond the curriculum—solving advanced numerical problems, understanding the underlying principles of machines, and applying theoretical knowledge through mini-projects and lab work. Apart from academics, I focused on learning through collaboration and teamwork, participating in group assignments and technical presentations. These experiences helped me enhance my communication and leadership skills. I also learned the importance of time management and self-discipline—skills that have proven vital in both academic and professional environments. Over the years, I have continued to stay updated with new developments in science and education, often revisiting core topics to refine my understanding. My educational journey has not only equipped me with subject expertise but also instilled in me a mindset of continuous learning and curiosity, which I aim to pass on to others through teaching.

Hi, my name is Khushiv and I am at university studying Economics. I am a supportive tutor who adapts to your learning style — making lessons clear and stress-free. What makes me stand out is that I’m patient and good at breaking tricky topics down into simple steps that actually make sense. I know how frustrating it feels to be stuck, so I always adapt my explanations until it clicks. I love my subject because it’s about problem-solving and building confidence, not just memorising facts. In lessons, I’ll keep things supportive, clear, and encouraging, so you feel more confident each time. My goal is to help you improve your grades while also believing in your own ability to succeed. I love my subject because it’s all about problem-solving and finding patterns, which makes it both challenging and rewarding. What I enjoy most is showing students that it doesn’t have to feel overwhelming — once it’s broken down into smaller steps, it becomes much easier to understand. I’ll help my students improve by making lessons clear, supportive, and tailored to their needs, so they build confidence as well as knowledge. My aim is for them to leave each session feeling more prepared and positive about their learning I have recently completed my A-levels, where I developed a strong academic foundation across both quantitative and analytical subjects. My studies required consistent focus, critical thinking, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to complex problems, all of which have shaped my approach to learning and problem-solving. One of my most significant achievements was being awarded a UKMT Senior Maths Challenge Gold Award, placing me within the top 1% of entrants nationally. This recognition reflects not only advanced mathematical ability but also resilience under timed conditions and the capacity to approach unfamiliar problems with creativity and precision. Achieving this distinction has deepened my confidence in tackling abstract challenges and strengthened my enthusiasm for mathematics beyond the classroom curriculum. Alongside my formal studies, I have gained valuable experience through independent projects and coursework that have required self-discipline and analytical skills. These experiences have improved my ability to manage deadlines, organise complex tasks, and think critically about the information presented to me.

Physics tutoring to improve grades and self-confidence
Poor performance at school is often due to low self-confidence rather than a lack of effort or competence, a fact which is often overlooked. In addition, teachers at school rarely have time to stop a lesson and repeat the concepts for those who didn’t understand, leading students to fall behind in their work.
This is where a private physics tutor can step in. They can explain topics in different ways and adapt their teaching style to suit each student.
Physics tuition allows students to take their time and ask questions about concepts they are not sure of. This leads to increased confidence in their abilities and better results in their exams.
The advantages of studying physics
Physics is a branch of physical science that involves the study of matter and its motion and behaviour through time and space, along with related concepts such as energy and force. It is the foundation of many scientific subjects and is a fundamental area of research when it comes to understanding the universe.
A sound knowledge of physics can give access to a number of different careers, such as:
In fact, following the completion of a bachelor's degree in physics, many people go on to study disciplines such as business, law or medicine. Generally, a technical background in physics is useful in any profession that combines science with another field.
What topics can be covered in online physics classes with a qualified tutor?
Our physics tutors have a wide range of different specialties and can cover topics from the GCSE curriculum such as:
Our physics tutors can also tackle some of the more complex topics at higher levels including:
Physics exam preparation and physics revision classes
