GCSE: Biology A-Level: Biology Uni level: Biology, genetics, cancer Exam board exp: None so far Experience with: GCSE (limited), Uni level Languages: English, Arabic Exp with disabilities/special needs: Exp with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Preferred student age group: Any About me: I am academic clinician, originally from Sudan, with a passion for teaching. I used to teach my juniors in university and have continued to do that after I have graduated. I love biology, especially genetics; an interest which I have pursued by completing an MSc in Molecular Medicine in Sudan. During my Molecular Medicine degree, I developed an interest in cancer, so I applied for- and got accepted into an MSc in Cancer Sciences at the University of Glasgow. This turned out to be one of the first decisions I have ever made, as it gave me a solid foundation upon which I am currently building my academic career. I have won a few awards so far, one of which is ‘Best Research Paper’ award, which was in recognition of my outstanding achievement and command of research by the end of my MSc in Molecular Medicine. I have been awarded a few grants and scholarships and have met former president Barak Obama as part of the programme I had on one of the leadership courses I undertook in the US. Currently, I research the use of artificial intelligence in diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of colorectal cancer which will greatly impact the quality of care that patients receive. My hobbies are archery and programming using Python, in addition to graphic design, web design and web development.

Hi, my name is Jasmine, I am 23 years old and I am from Bath, England. My favourite pastimes include reading, writing, painting and watching films/television series. Teaching is also a passion of mine and I am looking forward to helping you improve your English skills in a relaxed and supportive environment. I have just finished the final year of my degree studying French and German at the University of Bristol. As part of my course I taught English as a foreign language in Austria for 6 months to a range of age groups in two different schools. This experience was very enjoyable as I was asked to plan and deliver a range of lessons around many different topics, from culture and history, to sport, music and politics, all of which I found very interesting to research and discuss with my classes. I am currently living in France, working as a teaching assistant in Bordeaux, with the hope of starting a Master's course the following year. I believe my spoken and written English is of a very high standard, having studied this subject at A level.

Outside of teaching and studying, I’m someone who loves exploring the world in every sense. I love to travel, always looking for the next hidden city street, quiet coastal path, or mountain trail to wander. I love experiences that spark curiosity and offer new perspectives, which are some qualities I bring into my lessons, too. I’m also a keen reader and lifelong learner, with a love for books on psychology, inclusive education, and modern fiction. To stay active, I enjoy yoga and long walks, which help me recharge and stay mindful, and I’m always up for trying new creative outlets, whether that’s experimenting with photography, cooking dishes from around the world, or learning a new skill just for fun. Music is another big part of my life; I love discovering new artists and curating playlists for different moods and adventures. These interests not only keep life exciting but also influence the way I connect with students: by staying curious, open-minded, and passionate about learning in all its forms. BA in Education Studies – UCL – Built a strong foundation in learning theory, child development, and educational practice at one of the world’s top universities. PGCE in Primary Education – UCL – Achieved Qualified Teacher Status with hands-on classroom experience, specialising in primary school teaching. My name is Alia and I’m from London. I have achieved strong As in my GCSE grades including English Language and Literature as well as ICT. My passion is teaching and I especially love helping people bring out their potential and going beyond to ensure success. I have had the experience of working with a variety of different people from different cultures and ages whilst working and I have helped them to build on their English in general and significantly improve their fluency and pronunciation. I then volunteered in helping primary/secondary school pupils/students with their SATS and exams in general from which I received outstanding feedback from the parents and if possible the pupils/students themselves. This then encouraged me to become a tutor and start my own lessons because I realised how much I enjoy helping students reach their personal goals and achieve success.

Hi! I'm Jenna, a recently graduated Psychology student with a passion for learning and helping others achieve their full potential. As a determined problem-solver, I have always loved maths - the satisfaction I get from solving a particularly difficult problem is what makes it my favourite! From solving algebraic equations in early GCSE to working out financial budgets for my university life, maths has always been exciting for me. Hopefully I can share this passion with you, and have some fun along the way. I have some tutoring experience across a range of contexts, from helping year 7s struggling with secondary school maths topics, to regularly assisting university students with psychology questions. At the forefront of my focus is a student's inherent grasp of the topic. I will continually check your understanding, and I am willing to approach the topic from a different angle in order to elevate your understanding and knowledge. I am determined to help you in any way that I can so you can achieve your personal academic goals and importantly, boost your confidence in your own mathematical ability. There are no stupid questions in lessons with me - I will encourage you to stick with it and keep asking for help and guidance until you could do it in your sleep! It's not always about top grades: a solid understanding of mathematical concepts and familiarity with numerical rules come first, but good marks almost always come hand in hand with this. I look forward to tutoring you!

Hello! My name is Caroline and I am a native English speaker who grew up in New Zealand. I moved to Germany in 2019 to start my masters degree in performance music at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main. I have always really enjoyed teaching music and through learning German as a second language, I realised my passion for languages and language teaching. I have been teaching English for a year and I am now working on an online TESOL course for English teaching. My hobbies include sports such as football, tennis and table tennis. I also enjoy origami and learning languages (I am working on a B2 certificate in German). My approach to teaching is to create a positive and interesting learning environment. It is my goal for students to enjoy their lessons so they are more likely to want to keep learning and to want to practice and improve themselves outside of lesson times. Associating positive energy and experiences to learning will be what keeps you motivated longterm. I am of course happy to discuss with students what they are looking to work on and set goals with them for what they want to achieve through these lessons. I think of myself as a very patient and positive person, so I can adapt to the speed/different paces of a student's learning without pressure or stress. I am also very interested in teaching violin/viola/music lessons if anyone is interested in these, as that is a huge passion of mine and is what I have been working on throughout my degrees. I look forward to hearing from you :) - Bachelor of music degree from The University of Auckland (New Zealand) - First Class Honours degree from The University of Auckland. - Masters degree from the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main (current). - B1-TELC German certificate
