Hello! My name is Dianne Clark, and I'm excited to be your online teacher! As an experienced online teacher, I'm passionate about helping students of all ages succeed. My goal is to make learning an exciting adventure, whether it's through English, math, or basic computer programming. When I'm not in the virtual classroom, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, experimenting in the kitchen, traveling, watching good series, and, of course, dancing. I am a graduate of Polytechnic University of the Philippines, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. In addition to my degree, I hold certifications as a Licensed Professional Teacher, TEFL, and EF SET. My specializations include teaching subjects like English, mathematics, and basic computer programming. Levels and Subjects I teach: I’m an English and History teacher with GoStudent. I can teach these at GCSE and A Level. As a professional writer I can offer academic and creative writing classes to adults and higher level students. I am a teacher of environmental science. I have an MSc in Conservation Ecology and extensive field experience in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Having studied and worked as a professional actor, I can also offer Drama/Acting classes to A Level. Languages: Apart from English, I'm also a fluent Spanish speaker. Preferred student age groups: I prefer to work with students from 10 years and older (to adults), however I have worked with students from 6 years up. About me: I have been a professional travel, environment, and creative writer for the last 20 years, and a teacher for the last 9. I have a background in acting, drama and conservation ecology and when it comes to teaching I draw on these skills to make my classes as fun, dynamic, and interesting as possible. I often use roleplay, music, media, and games to enhance students learning and understanding. Learning is so much easier when it’s fun and thought-provoking. I teach students from young children to the executives of large companies. Outside of my roles as teacher and writer I have also worked as an actor, journalist, conservationist and professional mountain and nature tour guide and tour designer. I love wildplaces. When not working, I love hiking, film, theatre, acting, travel, snorkelling, diving, photography, and martial arts. I also run workshops in creative writing. I have an MSc in Conservation Ecology from Oxford Brookes University. I decided to do this degree after living and working in Latin America, Africa and South East Asia for many years. Living and working as a guide, writer, and conservationist in these places inspired my love of the natural world. My degree is in acting and performance art. I was lucky enough to attend East 15 Acting School (which is now part of the University of East London) to study. I worked as an actor for many years, and I often include roleplay and drama in my lessons. For my A levels I studied English (A), Art (A) and Geography (B).
