Hi, I'm Marwa. I'm currently studying mechanical engineering with a strong interest in physics. I've worked as an in-person tutor, mostly in physics and biology, I've also tutored mathematics and english at KS2 level, which helped me develop great communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in simple ways! I went to High School where I earned a grade 6 in Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology. After that, I studied at College and completed a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science with grades D*,D,D. I currently study mechanical engineering at university.

I am a PPE student at the University of Manchester with a love of Mathematics and breaking complex problems into simple steps. As a dyslexic student, I understand the benefits that 1-1 support in education can bring and know first hand how much you can improve academically with focused support and hard work. Outside of academics and tutoring, I play several instruments including violin, piano and singing. I was recently awarded my grade 8 singing. Moreover I have enjoyed playing football since I was young and was the captain of the 1st XI football team in my secondary school. I am currently in the University of Manchester studying PPE. I achieved an A* in Mathematics at A level with 93% in the Pure Mathematics Paper, achieved the highest in my cohort in the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge, and a 9 at GCSE level. I am a highly approachable and engaging tutor with over two years of experience tutoring at GCSE level and 11+ entrance exams. Through a student programme, I also volunteered at a local primary school fortnightly teaching Mathematics to Year 4 students for a year.

I teach senior high school mathematics at all levels, from foundational to advanced. With years of experience as a government tax specialist and roles as a system analyst, programmer, and statistician in IT, I transitioned to teaching, which has always been my passion. I began tutoring in college to support my expenses and discovered the rewarding challenge of working with a student with dyscalculia. Through tailored strategies and building strong rapport, she succeeded. My diverse background has made me resourceful and innovative, enhancing my effectiveness in both teaching and problem-solving. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from St. Scholastica’s College, Manila, where I completed challenging courses such as Calculus, Statistical Analysis, Number Theory, and Linear Algebra. I also pursued post-graduate studies in Mathematics Education at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, focusing on educational strategies and child development, with research on learning disabilities. Although I couldn’t complete my thesis due to budget constraints, I am skilled in teaching all levels of mathematics, including Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Statistics, and Business Mathematics.

Hello, I’m George, a qualified and experienced Science teacher specialising in Biology. I began teaching in a secondary school and sixth form in 2020 and have more than 2000 hours of teaching experience and have taught hundreds of students across KS3, GCSE, and A-level, helping them achieve real progress and confidence in their science studies. My passion for teaching began during a volunteer placement in Ghana in 2016, where I taught English and helped coach local sports teams, seeing first-hand the transformative power of education. I later supported first-year university students as a Peer Assisted Study Leader at the University of Bristol, further developing my skills in guiding students to achieve their potential. I hold a BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Bristol and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education in Secondary Science from the University of Buckingham. Through my university studies, I have not only gained expert science subject knowledge but I also have an excellent understanding of the latest teaching methods to help facilitate learning and, ultimately, help pupils achieve their goals. Beyond the classroom, I have been involved in conservation projects in Sri Lanka and Costa Rica, experiences that have deepened my enthusiasm for Biology and environmental studies — knowledge I bring into my lessons to inspire students. As a tutor, I tailor each session to the individual needs of the student, combining engaging activities with exam-focused strategies. At A-level I then went on to study Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, Religious Education and also achieved an AS level qualification in Critical thinking. Following this, I attended the University of Bristol, a Russel Group university which is renowned for its world-leading research and academic excellence. Here, I achieved my undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences. Following this, I began working towards achieving qualified teacher status and took my first post as a teacher of Science at a secondary school in 2020. I attended the university of Buckingham and completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Education with a focus on Science in order to become a qualified teacher. Through my university studies, I have not only gained expert science subject knowledge but I also have an excellent understanding of the latest teaching methods to help facilitate learning and, ultimately, help pupils achieve their goals. Further to this I also have other experience in coaching and mentoring roles. In 2016, I volunteered for 6 weeks in a primary school in Accra, Ghana. My primary role was teaching English to students, but given that I have achieved a Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training and level 1 qualified rugby coach, I also helped to introduce organised sport in the school and also coached local men's rugby team, the Dansoman Hurricanes.
