Hi! I'm Jenna, a recently graduated Psychology student with a passion for learning and helping others achieve their full potential. As a determined problem-solver, I have always loved maths - the satisfaction I get from solving a particularly difficult problem is what makes it my favourite! From solving algebraic equations in early GCSE to working out financial budgets for my university life, maths has always been exciting for me. Hopefully I can share this passion with you, and have some fun along the way. I have some tutoring experience across a range of contexts, from helping year 7s struggling with secondary school maths topics, to regularly assisting university students with psychology questions. At the forefront of my focus is a student's inherent grasp of the topic. I will continually check your understanding, and I am willing to approach the topic from a different angle in order to elevate your understanding and knowledge. I am determined to help you in any way that I can so you can achieve your personal academic goals and importantly, boost your confidence in your own mathematical ability. There are no stupid questions in lessons with me - I will encourage you to stick with it and keep asking for help and guidance until you could do it in your sleep! It's not always about top grades: a solid understanding of mathematical concepts and familiarity with numerical rules come first, but good marks almost always come hand in hand with this. Hallo, ich bin Léonie! Ich studiere zurzeit einen Master in Ökologie in Schottland und arbeite gerade an meiner Masterarbeit. In Schottland habe ich auch mein Bachelorstudium in Umweltwissenschaften absolviert. Durch meine Studien habe ich hervorragende Englischkenntnisse sowie eine starke Grundlage in Biologie und Geographie erlernt. Ich bin zudem in einem Deutsch-Französischem Haushalt aufgewachsen und habe in meiner Kindheit lange in Belgien gelebt. Hierdurch sind auch meine Französischkenntnisse gut. In meiner Schulzeit habe ich selber Nachhilfe bekommen, und zwar in Mathe. Ich kann also nur zu gut nachvollziehen, wie es ist, in einem Fach mehr Unterstützung zu benötigen. Und ich kann auch sagen, dass die Nachhilfe mir sehr geholfen hat! Hoffentlich geht es euch auch so! My name is Charlie and i would love to help you feel more confident in your efforts to learn english to a higher level. I will tell you a brief story of why i am an english teacher. I am originally from England. I have lived in England all my life and was born there , i have also studied in 4 different schools and one college also. I have also been working secularly since i was 17 in a joiners shop making furniture. Since covid began and my boss retired i started working as a handyman and being my own boss. Then I met a girl from Spain called Sora, we began talking everyday. Now we are married and living in Tarragona in Spain. Here in Spain i have been teaching English conversation. Helping my students by giving them practice in speaking lessons and culture lessons too. I enjoy teaching and have been doing so on donation basis in order to help my students. These lessons that i have been conducting have sharpened my teaching methods. In Canada I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry, with a Major in Outdoor Leadership. I worked in this field for a few years, but eventually found myself drawn to the business and financial side of things in the organization that I worked for. In the future, I would like to pursue education and work in business and finance. My favorite hobby is being active in the outdoors. I enjoy rock climbing, mountain biking, and almost anything else that gets me outside and being active. I also love to relax with a good book on a quite day or evening. My other qualifications are not particularly connected to tutoring. I am certified to teach a number of adventure activities. I am a Top Rope Climbing instructor, certified by the ACMG, I am a level 1 Mountain Bike instructor, certified with PMBIA, OCC Hiking Field Leader, and I also took an 80 wilderness first aid course. These things give a bit of a picture about what I am interested in, and what I have pursued learning about or teaching in my life. I have a strong background in Maths and Physics, with A*A at A-Level, and I’m currently applying these subjects in applied engineering.
