I love biology, especially genetics; an interest which I have pursued by completing an MSc in Molecular Medicine in Sudan. During my Molecular Medicine degree, I developed an interest in cancer, so I applied for- and got accepted into an MSc in Cancer Sciences at the University of Glasgow. This turned out to be one of the first decisions I have ever made, as it gave me a solid foundation upon which I am currently building my academic career. I have won a few awards so far, one of which is ‘Best Research Paper’ award, which was in recognition of my outstanding achievement and command of research by the end of my MSc in Molecular Medicine. I have been awarded a few grants and scholarships and have met former president Barak Obama as part of the programme I had on one of the leadership courses I undertook in the US. Hallo, ich bin Léonie! Ich studiere zurzeit einen Master in Ökologie in Schottland und arbeite gerade an meiner Masterarbeit. In Schottland habe ich auch mein Bachelorstudium in Umweltwissenschaften absolviert. Durch meine Studien habe ich hervorragende Englischkenntnisse sowie eine starke Grundlage in Biologie und Geographie erlernt. Ich bin zudem in einem Deutsch-Französischem Haushalt aufgewachsen und habe in meiner Kindheit lange in Belgien gelebt. Hierdurch sind auch meine Französischkenntnisse gut. In meiner Schulzeit habe ich selber Nachhilfe bekommen, und zwar in Mathe. Ich kann also nur zu gut nachvollziehen, wie es ist, in einem Fach mehr Unterstützung zu benötigen. Und ich kann auch sagen, dass die Nachhilfe mir sehr geholfen hat! Hoffentlich geht es euch auch so!
