My name is Syeda Ashfa Batool, I have very recently done my exams so i know the struggles of a hard working student. I want to use my experience and help other students excel in their exams using similar techniques that helped me. I also believe that everyones way of working is different so when we work together we will find what works best for you and help you do well in exams. Having delivered over 500 sessions I believed I have gained experience to work with a range of different students. Maths was one of my favourite subjects at school and even during college, so it is something I am looking forward to teaching most! My preferred age group is students doing their GCSEs or students in high school. Additionally, my age allows me to relate to students more easy and allows me to find common grounds to build a friendly mentor relationship. Some of my hobbies are reading books, cooking and meeting up with my friends :) I am currently a fourth year medical student studying in the United Kingdom. My degree has provided me with a strong foundation in the sciences, critical thinking, and problem-solving, as well as valuable communication and teaching skills that I apply in my tutoring. Through my medical studies, I have developed a deep understanding of complex topics in biology, chemistry, and mathematics, and I enjoy breaking these down into clear, structured explanations for my students. Before starting medical school, I completed A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. These subjects not only strengthened my academic abilities but also sparked my passion for helping others understand challenging material. I'm currently studying for my Master's in Cancer Biology, a field I'm interested in, with the ultimate goal of becoming a clinical scientist. I believe that science should be accessible to everyone, and I really dislike it when people "gatekeep" scientific knowledge. My goal is to make learning engaging and manageable, helping you build confidence and achieve your goals through a personalised approach. Having dyslexia myself, I'm particularly passionate about using newfound ways to teach students with special educational needs (SEN), particularly non-verbal ASD, ADHD and Dyslexia. Outside of my studies and teaching, I love to relax and get creative. You might find me rollerskating, crocheting, or curled up with a good book and a cup of tea. My passion for teaching grew, leading me to pursue a PGCE at Sheffield Hallam University. I completed two school placements, gaining valuable classroom experience over a total of nine months. Although unforeseen personal circumstances prevented me from finishing my PGCE, I remained dedicated to helping students. I continued tutoring through the National Tutoring Programme and the local authority, working with students who couldn't attend mainstream school due to various needs, including SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health). This rewarding experience led me to a short teaching contract at a special educational provision. There, I taught small groups of students with similar backgrounds. It was in this role that I truly discovered my most effective teaching style: a personalised, one-on-one approach. This method allows me to focus on each student's unique needs, helping them build confidence and achieve their academic goals. I'm now studying for my MRes in Cancer Biology at Nottingham Trent University, but my commitment to providing tailored, impactful education remains a priority. I am currently studying archeology and ancient history at Oxford university, so I have a passion for all things from the past. I also studied sciences for A-level (chemistry and biology) so I enjoy engaging with the science world too. Outside of school I love to go on dog walks and read lots of books, especially crime books. I’m currently a university student and through my course I study a mixture of ancient history, archaeology and Latin language. For A-levels I studied Classical civilisation, biology and chemistry.
