Hi, I'm James! I'm a 22-year-old Philosophy and History Student at the University of Exeter. I can tutor in the following: - GCSE Maths - GCSE Religious Studies/Philosophy - A-Level Religious Studies/Philosophy I have a wealth of experience teaching roughly 30 students between the ages of 14-18, from early GCSE to late A-Level in all these subjects. During the 5 years of tutoring experience I've had since starting in Sixth Form, I have managed to refine an adaptable system that allows me to get the best out of all of my students, regardless of their initial capability. I am patient, engaging and easy-going, and I know exactly how to maximise one's potential. When I'm not studying or tutoring, I practice in Wado-Ryu Karate or work as DJ at my local Indie Nightclub in Exeter. I am also the sitting President of the Philosophy Society at Exeter, an organisation with roughly 200 members. I've had great successes during my time tutoring; my finest hour is getting two girls from Grades 4 to 7 in their GCSE Maths Exams within 9 Months. To see my students achieve grades that they previously thought unattainable is something that will never cease to make me smile :) I look forward to working with you! **************************** **************************** I’M ON HOLIDAY 16TH JUNE TO 1ST JULY 2025. I’M STILL ACTIVELY TEACHING UPON MY RETURN. PLEASE ENQUIRE IF YOU’RE INTERESTED IN LESSONS BUT EXPECT A DELAYED RESPONSE. **************************** **************************** I am a maths/statistics tutor and data engineer with over ten years of teaching experience. Academic background: - Sussex University - PhD Hirschfeld scholar; pass with minor corrections - Sussex University - 1st class honours MMath degree I`ve spent 6 years in industry working in the data tech industry. I apply maths and technical skills to solve data engineering problems, as well as conduct technical training work alongside for work colleagues. I work closely with data engineering technologies like Python and SQL. What to Expect From Lessons: Lessons are delivered in 50 minute batches. They consist of breaking down complex theoretical concepts into simplified components followed by examples and exam problems to solidify understanding of the topic. I encourage the student to explore the concepts themselves with me prompting them rather than just writing out a formulae. I focus on sharing deep mathematical insights with my student. This is a skill I refined as a PhD student. I aim to make lessons interactive and goal-oriented. I combine this with reinforcing their knowledge of theoretical concepts throughout the lesson. Please enquire if you have a topic/subject request not listed here. I have a valid DBS check. Testimonies: "George is very helpful, knowledgeable and makes difficult topics easy to understand. Luckily, I had George to tutor me. His tutoring style was extremely effective, we would discuss beforehand what I wanted to go over, and I would send him any relevant documents from my lectures about things I was not understanding, and he would prepare explanations and worked through examples, and then we would go over similar examples together. We dealt with a wide range of mathematical problems, such as integration by parts, various methods of solving differential equations and comparative static analysis, and all of these topics were handled extremely well and taught excellently. George is punctual and shows a great deal of preparatory work before any lessons, and is then extremely effective at communicating and explaining complicated ideas. He is very knowledgeable and works extremely hard on each lesson. I am a graduate from Bayes Business School with a passion for tutoring and education. After completing my O and A levels, I realized the importance of personalized academic support in making a smooth transition between educational stages. I firmly believe that having access to tailored tutoring during my own studies would have greatly enhanced my confidence and academic performance. Since the beginning my tutoring journey, I have worked with students ranging from KS2 to A-Level and university-level subjects, helping them not only understand challenging concepts but also build their confidence in learning. My teaching style balances formality with a student-centered approach, tailoring lessons to each student’s preferred learning style—whether visual, auditory, or hands-on. I strive to make learning engaging and interactive, ensuring that students look forward to lessons rather than viewing them as an extension of school. My goal is to create an environment where students feel encouraged, supported, and motivated to achieve their best. With over four years of professional tutoring experience, I have successfully guided students across various exam boards, including GCSEs, IGCSEs, AQA, EdExcel, WJEC, and OCR. My expertise spans multiple subjects, such as Accounting, Maths, English Language, English Literature and Business Studies, allowing me to provide well-rounded academic support. I am committed to continuing this journey, helping students overcome challenges, strengthen their skills, and reach their full potential. I pursued a BSc (Honours) in Business Management at Bayes Business School, City, St. George’s, University of London, graduating with a First Class in July 2025. Before university, I completed my O levels and A levels in Pakistan and did a Foundation course in Business and Economics with Accounting at INTO City, London. I also broadened my academic experience with a semester abroad at the University of Texas, Austin. My specializations lie in marketing, strategy, business communication, management, and business innovation. Through both my academic and professional experiences, I have developed a well-rounded skill set that positions me well for roles in marketing, business development, and strategic management.

My name is Abdurrehman and I am a Business student at the University of Salford. My friends describe me as hardworking, dedicated and focussed. Business and Economics has a huge importance in my life, not only because of its link to my career, but because of an interest I have in me. Having attained AAB in my A Levels and 8s and 7s in GCSEs, I have developed from an outstanding student to an incredible tutor. In high school my Maths teachers always applauded my excellent problem solving and maths skills as I acheived an 8 in GCSE, and I am looking forward to sharing these tips with students of my own. I enjoy teaching science because, apart from being great at it in my GCSEs, i like how vast the subjects are and how ever evolving they are. From my own journey, there has been many instances where I have taught myself content because the way the teacher taught me I just didn't understand. This made me an independent learner and encouraged me to reach my highest potential - not to mention all the amazing tips and tricks I discovered and am excited to pass on to my students too. I have a vast experience of teaching, from volunteering experiences to jobs in different settings with tutoring - which helped me fine tune my teaching skills and made me really adaptable to different teaching styles. As a young tutor, the age gap between me and my students will be relatively small and will allow me to understand them much better, as well as make the lessons more fun and engaging as I know how to meet their needs. I completed my post-graduate degree in Actuarial Science at the University of Kent, along with a 2.1 in BSc in Mathematics, and I'm working as a Mathematics Teacher at Technology College. I am confident that I have the requisite skills and the potential to inspire and encourage children of all abilities to reach their full potential. I enjoyed the way that every day is different and that each child is unique. I have 4 years of classroom teaching experience and worked as the academic head of the mathematics department. I wrote three academic books for that organization. I started teaching when I was studying in year 12, which is my passion. I worked part-time during my post-graduate time in a child park for helping differently-abled young persons. I am a good orator with communication and debate skills and served as a student member of the board of studies at the University of Kent. I was appointed as an innovation council member of Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, and also served as School union chairman and College Union General Secretary at the school and college levels. In my school days, I won the mathematics Olympiad prize. These roles have developed my skills in public speaking, liaising with a large number of people, planning, organizing and taking responsibility for managing programs.
