I studied Criminology and Criminal Justice at University and I am soon to undertake a Masters in International Relations which I am incredibly excited about. Hi! My name is Ruqayyah and I have a Psychology BSc degree from the University of Birmingham. I love to bake, read, listen to podcasts, and watch football in my free time. I'm Joe a, final year politics student at the Univeristy of Liverpool. During my time at university and before I've enjoyed tutoring originally only in person but for the last three years with GoStudent, aside from this, I'm currently involved with multiple societies such as the Ski, Badminton and Pool societies. Moreover, my interest in politics and social sciences is not confined to my degree, I enjoy reading on these topics outside of the University reading list, particularly history. Through this variety of interests, tutoring is something which simultaneously benefits from them and aids them by expanding my own understanding of these topics. Therefore tutoring is more akin to a hobby than a job for me due to my enjoyment of it. Throughout, my academic career I have enjoyed a wide range of subjects. originally my interests were only in history, and although this is still a favourite, my areas of knowledge have grown more varied. For instance, I'm now studying politics at university, which has been a great eye-opener. Furthermore studying politics has brought me into contact with more areas of study such as economics, media, business and geography. However, I have studied all of these to varying levels before university. My interest has led to me attaining a 2:1 grade each year of study. Moreover last year I spent a year in industry at Liverpool City Council putting the theory into practice further adding to my understanding of all the subjects mentioned above. Finally, tutoring has only added to my academic knowledge, they say the best way to learn something is to teach it to someone else, and I'm certainly a believer in that.

I am studying Biotechnology at the University of Nottingham and have been tutoring students from KS2 to A-Level for two years. I am passionate about making learning more fun for my pupils because that way they'll learn better. I am very good at explaining difficult concepts in different ways so that all students understand. I did A Levels in Biology (AQA), Chemistry (AQA), Economics (Edexcel). I am in my third year of Biotechnology BSc (Hons) and have studied a variety of modules during my studies that equiped me with relevant knowledge that will allow me to stretch my students who want to know more about science. Hi, I’m Harrison; I look forward to working with you! I hold a first class degree in English Literature, going on to study for an MA in public policy at the university of York. I achieved top marks at gcse (A*) and achieved a B in English literature and History at A-Level. That’s the academics out of the way, in terms of experience, I have tutored since 2020. I was volunteering with an educational charity called action tutoring, providing English and History tuition to groups of 1-3. These were children mainly on the borderline of a pass, looking to achieve passing and even top grades (including 8/9s)I have a good track record of tangible outcomes and was responsible for their progress throughout, keeping records of tests, progression and revision structure.. Some of these students also had significant challenges at home and at school, and so I developed a strong sense of resilience and motivation for education. A few students were also neurodivergent, and so I gained a appreciation and understanding of neurodivergence in education. Since then, I have kept tutoring throughout my university education and hope to do it as I study for my masters degree. All in all that's about 4 years experience! I pride myself on keeping my lessons personal and supportive, and will always ask for suggestions to improve and include the student in the direction of study. Hello, my name is Kirstie and I have been teaching for 21 years. I have spent time both in British secondary schools and in schools in Vietnam and Singapore. My main subject and passion is the study of History and I can teach this from Key Stage 3 all the way up to A-Level. My favourite period is the Tudors and I particularly enjoy the stories of the women of this time. I also tutor KS3 English and GCSE English Language and English Literature and am very familiar with AQA, Eduqas and Edexcel exam boards. I also have experience teaching Geography up to GCSE and find the two subjects actually quite complement each other with many of the themes over-lapping. I discovered a love for geography from my love of the great outdoors – I would often find myself on the top of a mountain admiring glacial landscapes and wondering how all the features were formed. This in turn links to my philosophy for education: I believe education should be a journey of discovery that allows the learner to move forwards with their knowledge and understanding of the world around them without putting them under so much pressure that they don’t enjoy it. I believe that effort is necessary in order to be successful, but that learning should not be a struggle or something that is dreaded. I am here to help students achieve their goals and become successful members of their community. In my spare time I enjoy running and drinking coffee with friends. I have 2 cats and have been married for almost 7 years. I am currently learning French in order to pursue my dream of moving to France to start a new life on the continent. As well as my degree in History and English and Literary Studies and my PGCE History, I have a TESOL certificate. I spent a month in Prague getting my TESOL and then taught ESL in Vietnam for 2 years.
