Hello! :) My name is Cécile and I am twenty-five years of age. In 2021, I graduated from De Montfort University, Leicester with a Bachelors Degree in Drama. I am currently working full-time as an Insurance Consultant whilst also working part-time, supporting students on their academic journeys. This is a big highlight of my week! :) I started tutoring during my A-Levels (2016-2018), which then progressed through to University and amazingly, up until present. A section of my degree concentrated on education (to which, I received a First) thus leading me to continue with private tuition, throughout the Leicester area. I have been established on the GoStudent platform as a freelance tutor, since January 2022. In January 2024, I received my 500th lesson certificate and up until present, I have delivered over 880 lessons on this platform, alone. I have just graduated from Warwick University with a first in my History and Politics degree at Warwick Uni and will be continuing my studies with a Master's in History. I also act as a mentor in both subjects at my University. I take Harvard courses in Computer Science (and small bits of maths) to boost my studies. Hello to you all. I have been teaching English and History to many different people at all levels for many years. I am hugely passionate about making sure the teaching and studying is fun. English is one of the most important subjects there is. I have a passion for helping people improve and get better at both reading and writing. History is one of the basics for so many subjects. It also helps students to develop great skills for the future. I am here to help in all aspects of English ( entry up to GCSE) and History (entry up to A level). Come along and discover how enjoyable it can be. I am an avid rugby fan. I played for many years. I have traveled all over the world. Visited every continent bar Antarctica. Reading is something I do every day: mostly history books! Cooking has now become a passion. I studied at a great school in Hayes in Kent. Came out with 8 "O" Levels and 3 "A" Levels. Then I went to Hampshire University and did a BA in Russian and European History 2.1. After university I had a few careers and then found the job I loved and did for many years. I lectured around the world on English and History. I taught many different courses and to many different age groups. I really love conveying my passion for English and History.

ABOUT ME I have a deep interest in history, human and physical geography, anthropology, technology, architecture and engineering. I especially enjoy the history and geography of languages and language families. I'm into all sorts of things if I'm honest. I am a keen traveller (but who isn't nowadays), audiophile and technophile, with a love for all kinds of technologies, analogue and digital, new and old. Thanks to COVID I learnt a lot of DIY skills through necessity. My house also has a garden full of fruit trees, so I guess that would make me an amateur gardener by default. I try to keep fit by cycling when possible, but my favourite sport is swimming. TEACHING EXPERIENCE/PREFERENCES The subjects I teach are History, English Literature and Language for GCSE and A-level, as well as ESL English. I tend to teach students aged 14+, so from Year 9 to Year 13 or more mature students for ESL, but I do have a few students younger than this. I use a variety of teaching approaches, ranging from traditional methods of text analysis to modern forms of teaching, such as interactive quizzes, questionnaires and even YouTube videos if they benefit the students learning style. Exam Board Experience: Experience of all English assessment boards, but especially AQA and Edexcel in the, and WJEC/Eduqas and OCR to a lesser extent. Languages: English: as a first language to advanced/professional level. Turkish: fluent to college level, but nor advanced enough for teaching purposes.
