Kia ora hey! My name is Haylie and I am a middle distance runner, master's student, actress and student support worker. I am studying an MSc in International Development part-time here at the University of Edinburgh while training and competing, as well as picking up casual hours teaching and supporting students. Moving to Edinburgh has been great fun, but I grew up in LA as a Kiwi-American. I lived in Aotearoa New Zealand for most of my adult life, where I also completed my bachelor's in Education with minors in Politics and TESOL. I absolutely love all things travel and adventure related, and I'm always keen for a chat about world politics, language, culture, running, football, travel, acting, and learning something new!

I’m a 4th-year medical student who enjoys finding a balance between academics and creativity. When I’m not studying or working on university projects, I love going to the beach to surfing. I also enjoy being on stage and taking part in theatre productions, as acting allows me to express myself in a completely different way. In quieter moments, I like to dabble in a bit of art through painting and crafts, and more recently I’ve started learning how to crochet, which has been both fun and rewarding.
