Hey! I’m an Aerospace Engineering graduate who decided Maths and Sciences shouldn’t feel like a foreign language. I turn the “what is this even?” moments into “ohhh, that’s how it works! I do understand how challenging these subjects can feel, which is why I focus on breaking down complex ideas into simple, logical steps that actually make sense. I’ve helped students improve grades, boost confidence, and even start enjoying the subjects they once found intimidating. My lessons are well-structured, interactive, and tailored to each student’s learning style, whether you’re aiming for top exam results or just want to build a stronger foundation. My lessons focus on understanding the “why” behind each concept, not just memorising formulae. I use real-life examples from engineering to bring ideas to life and adapt my approach to each student’s learning style. I use step-by-step explanations, visual aids, and real-world examples to help students see how theory connects to practice. Every session is tailored to suit the student’s learning style and goals. Come join, let’s make Maths and your Sciences finally make sense… and fun! I hold a first class degree in Aerospace Engineering, where I developed a strong foundation in advanced Mathematics, Physics, and problem-solving. My studies focused on aerodynamics, materials, and adaptive wing technologies, areas that taught me how to apply theory to real-world engineering challenges. Throughout my degree, I gained extensive experience using analytical and design tools, which deepened my understanding of the core Maths and Physics principles behind modern engineering. This hands-on background helps me explain complex topics clearly and show students how what they’re learning connects to practical, real-life applications.

My name is Christine and I am a junior doctor. I have always been passionate about learning and sharing knowledge in a manner that's simple and enjoyable. With over 5 years tutoring experience, I focus on an engaging, holistic, and student-centric approach to tutoring, whilst sharing my passion and love for learning! I firmly believe the key to mastering anything is understanding the basics and then weaving them together to gain the bigger picture. I have worked diligently to hone my skils over the years, even applying them in my own studies in the medical field, and have been able to get testimonials such as the one above and: "Hi Christina only to let you know Felipe had a 6 in biology which is very good compared with the 3 in January! Hope we can work together from September. So, thank you x" - Pilar "Just to let you know Yousef passed all his GCSEs. Thank you." - Naz "Hii, it’s Mike. I just wanted to say thank you so much for helping me this year and I wouldn’t have done it without your help and support." During the sessions, I work with my students through the agreed upon topic paying close attention to the core concepts, we go through some exam-style questions, and also learn how to frame the answers in the way examiners expect. I also share effecting studying and memory techniques to enable them to better learn and master their content. In my spare time, I enjoy singing (I'm currently taking a music theory class and hope to progress to one day play the cello) and dancing. These help me unwind and also have fun! Greetings! My name is Saul, and I am a current undergraduate student on medical leave. I'm an experienced educator, a curious learner, and skilled in various areas of study. I enjoy going into the details, and perceiving the bigger picture, especially combining areas of science and mathematics with philosophy and psychology. This translates to how I provide my teaching; as clearly, explanatory and rigorous as possible. Often, I attempt to work with the student in an engaging and productive manner that allows them to exercise as many levels of thinking as possible to enhance their understanding to the levels required for higher grades. After spending just over half a year working for my GCSEs after moving from The Netherlands, I joined A-Levels to pursue mathematics, further mathematics, physics and philosophy, where I was given the opportunity to tutor and teach a weekly seminar on AI. I spent a few months studying Theoretical Physics at undergraduate, however am now on medical leave. Furthermore, I worked as a private tutor and am now spending my work hours for several tutoring agencies.

I am an encouraging, patient, and highly experienced GCSE and A-Level Chemistry tutor, with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping students build confidence and succeed. I hold a PhD in Bioengineering and Materials Science from Imperial College London, and I have also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford. My academic training began with a Master’s degree in Chemistry with Biomedicine from King’s College London, where I was recognised as the Most Outstanding Graduate. This journey has given me a deep and thorough understanding of chemistry, as well as the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and simply. Alongside my studies and research career, teaching has always been a core part of what I do. I have delivered university tutorials, supported undergraduate and Master’s students, organised revision sessions, and mentored students at different stages of their education. I also have several years of experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level Chemistry, both one-to-one and in small groups. My teaching style is calm, structured, and supportive. I believe every student can do well with the right guidance and approach. I focus on building strong foundations first — making sure key concepts truly make sense — before gradually moving on to more challenging topics and exam-style questions. This helps students feel confident, reduce anxiety around exams, and develop strong problem-solving skills. I am particularly experienced at identifying where students are getting stuck and adapting my explanations to suit different learning styles. Whether a student needs help catching up, strengthening their understanding, or pushing for top grades, I tailor each lesson to their individual needs and goals. Above all, I aim to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving steadily. My goal is not just to help students achieve better grades, but to help them feel confident in their abilities and develop skills they can carry forward beyond their exams. I have a strong academic foundation in chemistry and related sciences, combined with extensive experience in teaching, mentoring, and one-to-one tutoring across multiple educational levels. I completed a PhD in Bioengineering and Materials Science at Imperial College London, where I developed advanced analytical skills and a deep understanding of chemistry, materials science, and applied biology. My doctoral training strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts clearly, logically, and step-by-step — an approach that translates directly into effective teaching. Prior to this, I obtained a Master’s degree in Chemistry with Biomedicine from King’s College London, where I was awarded Most Outstanding Graduate in recognition of academic excellence. Throughout my undergraduate and postgraduate studies, I was actively involved in teaching and student support. I organised and delivered revision sessions, led tutorials for undergraduate and Master’s students, and regularly supported peers with exam preparation and problem-solving. These experiences gave me a strong understanding of common misconceptions students face in chemistry and how to address them effectively. Following my PhD, I held postdoctoral research positions at both Imperial College London and the University of Oxford. In these roles, I supervised and mentored students, contributed to teaching activities, and continued to refine my ability to communicate scientific ideas clearly and accessibly to learners with different backgrounds and abilities. In parallel with my academic career, I have several years of experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level Chemistry, as well as supporting undergraduate (BSc) students. I have worked with students of varying abilities, from those needing to rebuild confidence in the subject to those aiming for top grades. My teaching approach is structured and adaptable, focusing on building strong foundations before progressing to more complex topics and exam-style questions. Overall, my educational background and teaching experience allow me to combine subject expertise with a supportive, student-centred approach. I am confident in tailoring lessons to individual learning styles and helping students develop both understanding and confidence in chemistry.

Hi, I’m Maja! (Pronounced Maya). I’m an astrophysics postgrad and a qualified secondary school science teacher. I’ve been through the full rollercoaster of science education, from fighting my way through a master’s degree and emerging with first-class honours, to teaching Year 9s on a Friday afternoon who would rather be anywhere else. Now I help GCSE and A-Level students believe what I already know: you can do this. My goal is to make science feel understandable, interesting, and even a bit fun. When I’m not teaching, you'll find me hanging upside down on an aerial hoop, or writing stories inspired by science and folklore. I went to secondary school in Hungary, where I was initially more interested in the humanities, until I fell in love with space and modern physics. For my leaving qualifications, I completed Advanced Exams in Mathematics and Physics and achieved an A. At university, I completed an integrated Master of Physics degree at the University of Southampton. My first three years focused on general physics (including lab work, mechanics, quantum physics, solid state physics, and wave physics) with a few modules of astronomy. During my master’s year, I had the incredible opportunity to conduct research at the Harvard & Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, where I studied the relationship between black holes and their host galaxies and wrote my thesis on this topic. I graduated with first-class honours in Astrophysics. After university, I felt drawn to education and wanted to help students grasp the beauty of science, so I completed a year of school-centred initial teacher training. I now hold a PGCE with QTS as a qualified science teacher.

What is Key Stage 4?
Key Stage 4 (KS4) comprises Year 10 and Year 11, when students are aged between 14 and 16. During this time they are working towards their GCSEs (General Certificate of Secondary Education), which are a gateway to further education and career paths.
What subjects are covered in Key Stage 4?
The national curriculum offers the following subjects:
Compulsory subjects that must be taken by all students are:
Schools must also offer at least one subject from each of these areas:
Academic students may be encouraged to take the English Baccalaureate, or EBacc. This is not a separate qualification, but a combination of six different GCSEs: English, maths, two sciences, a language and either history or geography.
Schools must also provide relationships, sex and health education and Religious Education (RE). Parents can ask for their children to be taken out of sex education lessons and all or some of RE lessons.
What is the focus of KS4?
The focus at KS4 is around preparing pupils for their transition to post-16 provision at the end of Year 11, for example A-levels, BTECs or the International Baccalaureate (IB).
Most students work towards national qualifications, usually their GCSEs. This is when they will start to study subjects that align with their strengths, interests and future goals, and at a greater depth than they have been able to before.
How to choose a KS4 tutor
Many students struggle with the one-size-fits-all approach often found in classroom settings. This can lead them to develop a negative mindset towards learning and a loss in confidence in their abilities. They can fall behind in their schoolwork and lose the motivation to put in the required effort to succeed.
KS4 tutors can provide targeted support in specific subjects where students may be struggling or need extra help to excel. This can be especially helpful if the student has special educational needs such as ADHD or dyslexia.
While most final exams take place at the end of Year 11, coursework and assessments are completed throughout the stage, so it’s important students always perform to their full potential.
GoStudent tutors have expertise in specific subject areas on the curriculum and offer a personalised approach tailored to individual needs, strengths, and weaknesses. They can close knowledge gaps, keep learning on track and help with exam preparation.
In addition, they can teach effective study techniques and time management strategies which can significantly improve performance, not only in KS4 but for the rest of the student’s academic career.
How much does private KS4 tuition cost?
Prices for private KS4 tuition can be as low as £21.99. The cost of each individual lesson will depend on how many lessons your child takes per week and how long they would like tuition for. Book a free trial session to see how affordable private KS4 tutoring can be with GoStudent.
How many other levels does GoStudent offer other than KS4 tuition?
As well as private KS4 tuition, GoStudent can help your child with 11 other levels. Pick from many subjects including Biology, French, Chemistry. And with GoStudent your child isn't tied into one level. If they are taking KS4 tuition but then need support with a different level, we can help them get that support with a tutor specialised in that level.
What are the benefits of private KS4 tutoring for your child?
There are many reasons why parents decide to hire a private tutor for KS4 tutoring. Some parents fear that they don’t have the knowledge to help their children with their homework or exam preparation. Others might not have the time to sit with children and work through homework. Our KS4 tutors can take away this stress by helping your child consolidate what they have been learning in school, working through their homework with them and building their confidence ahead of their exams. You can rest easy knowing that our tutors are experts in their subjects and have the knowledge and teaching abilities to not only spark your child’s interest in the subject but also foster a lifelong love of learning.
