Primary level maths KS3 Geography GCSE Geography Exam Board Experience: Edexcel and AQA I can speak English fluently Preferred student age group: 8-16 Hi! I have experience tutoring primary level math students and therefore have knowledge of the understanding students should have, as well as how to help them get to that level. I thoroughly enjoyed studying geography at GCSE and AS level as it is an extensive subject. This is evidenced as Geography covers a range of topics, including inequality in human geography to tectonic and coastal matters in physical geography. At GCSE, I specifically enjoyed studying the cases in response to the growing population issue in Kerala and China, and how these different places used different approaches to respond to this. Furthermore, the essay structure of writing longs mark questions at GCSE and AS Level can be daunting. However, upon understanding the case studies and how they would apply to the question, imbedding the facts to the question can be accomplished and I would love to help students out in tackling this. I found Edexcel as a specification really helpful, as the topics were interesting but also on the website, the learning outcomes needed to be known for the final exam were clear. I have studied geography for one year at university but for other reasons had to change this. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the modules I learned, which included looking into the wider carbon cycle and environmental issues facing our planet. I look forward to helping KS3 and GCSE students looking for support in the subject by using my previous experience in tutoring to give tailored and student-specific assistance. I enjoy listening to music; I will happily bop along to pretty much anything in the indie rock genre. I also love singing, mainly classical and opera repertoire and learning new arias is something I do in my spare time. I am currently a law student however have a passion for geography and find it a fascinating subject. The skills one can pick up from the subject is so cast it can apply to different subjects as well. I was a course rep during my year studying geography, where I was a voice for my cohort on any concerns about the course. Evidence of such a role having a positive impact was seen in one of the modules, the topic was so broad it felt intangible to get to grips with. I discussed and made an action plan with the faculty on how this could be addressed. The end result was a more cohesive manageable lecture content, which is a similar approach I hope to bring to students when I am tutoring. I enjoyed helping out on open days during my time at AS level and GCSE as I felt confident to speak to potential students about the topics in the course as well as convey this in an exciting way to spark the students interests or in some cases, reinforce an existing interest. I have received a ARSM Diploma in Singing and enjoy singing in the choir at university. I am also in a band, and we performed at a Varsity event (unfortunately we lost). However, it was a new experience for me which I really enjoyed. I like learning about new cultures and travelling when I can. I have been to India and Canada, which I enjoyed, and I cannot wait to see more of the world.

One of my favourite things to do is helping people learn. And not just forcefully learning and memorising, but learning in a way they understand. Learning in a way easiest and least challenging for them as an individual. I love teaching Maths because I think it’s amazing how there are so many different ways to get to the correct answer. So even if you might not understand how one way works, that’s absolutely okay because that’s not the only way to the answer. Whichever way works for you in understanding how to get to the answer, is the way we’ll figure out and work with together. And once we do it together, you’ll have the confidence and knowledge to do it independently. That being said, I also love Biology and Chemistry because science is also great. And believe it or not, but the answers are usually easier to find than you’d think. Whether you're wanting to excel and get the top grade, or wanting to pass a subject you're not really in love with, I think everyone has the potential to achieve what they want and continue to advance forward in life. Including you. Whether you believe it or not, you have the potential and ability to succeed. Even if you might need a little help or nudge in seeing that ability, that’s absolutely fine – and I would love to be that person to help give you that encouragement in seeing your potential. We've got this. You’ve got this!

Maths tutoring to improve grades and self-confidence
Poor performance in maths is often due to low self-confidence rather than a lack of effort, and the current school system can underestimate just how much this can affect academic success.
An online maths tutor can offer one-to-one lessons tailored to your child’s needs, addressing any areas that need extra support or revision and allowing them to work at their own pace. Maths tutors can also help with homework, and as they are outside the traditional school system they can adapt their teaching style to suit the individual student. This leads to improved understanding, which builds confidence and results in better grades.
Maths exam preparation and maths revision classes
Whether your child is studying for a maths GCSE, an A level in England or Wales, a Leaving Cert (Northern Ireland and Ireland) or the National 3,4,5 Maths Higher or Advanced Higher in Scotland, we will have a maths tutor suited to them who knows the curriculum well. Even if you’re short on time, they can help your child master the essentials fast so that their exams are as stress-free as possible.
Maths homework help
Maths homework helps students learn new concepts they will use in the future as well as develop good study skills and habits. Keeping on track with the rest of the class leads to more enjoyable lessons, improved self-confidence and better results.
The advantages of studying maths
Mathematics is a subject in numerical sciences that includes algebra, calculus and basic arithmetic. It develops critical thinking, which involves checking conclusions and results to ensure that they are founded on sufficient data and sound reasoning.
A widely-held misconception is that a maths degree is only useful if you intend to teach. However, those with maths degrees have access to exciting and fulfilling career opportunities in a wide range of fields including economics, financial analysis, software development and medical science.
Employers understand that if you can perform arithmetic, you can do any job that requires exact analysis and deductive reasoning.
